| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The waves rocked back and forth, churning the ship. Romanus was laying down in one of the cabins, awaiting arrival. He had heard about a far off land called Imythess where anything was possible, and the gods lived on earth. It seemed impossible to him, so he decided to go. He also ran from a past crime that he had not commited. But they didn't care, so long as he was dead. Finally the waves stopped, and the ship was near the city. Romanus walked up on deck when he felt the ship slow down, and watch land approach. Here he would have a new beginning, and could live without fear of others trying to kill him. He watched the people pass on the docks as they got closer. All kinds were there, including people obviously not human. He had never seen so many races in one place, let alone any race other than human. He departed the ship, and as his feet hit solid ground, he headed out of the docks. Up ahead he could see a gate, but no one was being checked. Suddenly a messenger arrived, and gave one of the guards a message to check people. Romanus cursed to himself, he would have to find another way out of the docks. He looked around, slightly desperate. He had hoped not to be hunted in this far off a land, but it seemed he would have to fight or somehow find another way out. |

Zydus was wandering around the docks, still completing certain things with the owner of the ship that he had sailed on earlier that month. "Once again, Varus, I thank you for helping me get back to Taras." The ship's owner was a jolly man, quite round but never-the-less still a decent bloke in the end. They both said their farewells and walked their separate ways. Zydus began to walk towards the gate, and noticed an anxious looking man standing nearby. He then diverted his attention towards the guards, who now seemed to be questioning people and inspecting their goods, etc. Slowly walking up to the line waiting to get at the gate, Zydus stood a metre away from the man and looked towards the gate, as the line became smaller and smaller. |

Romanus watched the people for a minute, and the docks were emptying. He would have to escape soon or else be captured. He walked up to the walls, and inspected them. They were smooth, and seemed impossible to climb. He tried to grab onto it, but alas, his hand found no hold. He joined the line behind Zydus, knowing they would check him and find his brand. He continued to think of more things as the line grew shorter, but each idea was crazier than the one before it, so he merely decided he would not let himself be captured, no matter what. |
