Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

The sky was dark with storm clouds over head. Thunder rolled over the hills in the distance. It was not raining just yet and looked as though the clouds could not wait to unleash the fury of water. Jasmine was walking along a gavel on her way to the Village of Kellen. She enjoyed the rolling thunder overhead. It pleased her to hear such power in the sky. It made her want that power, the greatness, the potential destruction. She was bent on having that sort of power. It was what drove her. Her lust for power sometimes turned into a lust for blood and gore. What ever she needed to do to get her hands on the power she lusted for, would be done.

The Village of Kellen was a small peaceful town. It was quiet yet lively with the peoples of the town. Some of the villagers were running the last of their errands and hurried to head home before the storm began to rage above them. Jasmine saw that there was peace about the small town and grinned. Her grin was not of joy or happiness. It was a grin of wicked lust to disturb that peace. She walked faster now, eager to cause chaos.

Eden was sitting at a round table in one of the inns. He had a mug goat’s milk in hand and happily gulped it down. The barmaid came by to pick up the mug and found a wealthy tip inside. She smiled at Eden and hurried to the back kitchen. Eden leaned back in the wooden chair he sat and stared out at the window. It was darkening out side and a thunderstorm was headed their way. The low growls of the clouds grew louder by the moment. It looked like it wanted to rain but not one drop fell.

Eden stood from his chair and stretched. He looked back to the inn keeper and smiled his thanks. The old man waved at him and went back to work, wiping the counter top. Eden walked outside and sat down on a nearby bench. He enjoyed the outside weather right now. He spread his arms and wings and leaned back into the bench. Pegasus stood nearby, watching him, waiting for him ride out before the storm finally unleashed it’s fury

Jasmine met the city borders and saw a beggar to the side. He held up a tin can, asking for spare copper. She hit the cup out of his hands and told him to get out of her sight. She laughed as the old beggar ran away from her. Some woman picking out necklaces from a vendor booth shook their heads and frowned. Jasmine’s katana was mounted at her hip. She held hilt of the sword, beaming at the woman and walked toward them. The group of ladies ran for their lives, terrified of what Jasmine may do. Once they ran, Jasmine stopped in her tacks and laughed.

“What a pathetic people. They reek of fear. It is time I do what I came here for.”

Jasmine walked down an alley way that lead her to the center of the town. She looked at the only guards there and lit a fire bolt in her hand. A wicked grin spread across her face. She threw the ball of fire at the guards and summoned her fire elemental. The fire beast stood tall and roared at the remaining people in the town square.

Eden shot his head up as he saw some people running away from the center of the town. Trouble was lurking within the city and Eden needed to go and fix it. But what of the guards at post? Shouldn’t they have taken care of the problem already? What ever was happening, Eden needed to go see. He got up and stretched. His wings shook a little bit from the stretch and a few feather fell. Summertime was on it’s way. Pegasus did the same as well. The winged horse bent forward and backward, stretching his legs.

Eden mounted Pegasus and lead him to the center of the city. More people were running now and got in his way. He found an alley way that he thought would lead him to the town square. What was going on? Eden had his hand on the hilt of his broadsword and readied him self for what was to come ahead.

Jasmine saw the ball of fire explode between the two guards. They flew in opposite direction, one completely covered in flames. A man who was brave enough picked up one of the guard’s pikes and ran toward Jasmine. She unsheathed her katana, the ring of it slicing the air, and conjured a whip of fire. The threw the pike at her and drew a long dagger from his coat. The pike flew at her with increasing speed. This man was a skilled fighter she thought. She cracked her whip at the soaring pike and split it in two. The man was already in striking distance of her. Jasmine ducked as the dagger whizzed through the air toward her temple. The man kicked her in the jaw while she was ducked. Indeed he was a skilled combatant. Jasmine was knocked back with the kick.

The fire elemental roared and leapt to the man. He screamed in agony as the fiery beast tore him apart. Jasmine smirked and regained her composure. That would not happen again. This time three more men came at her. She laughed she consumed one of the men in flames and caught the ankle of the other with her fire whip. The aflame ran to the side and collapsed. Hanging from the fire whip, the dangled in the air and then was thrown to fire elemental. Jasmine charged at the last man standing sliced his belly with her katana. Jasmine stood in the middle of all the chaos and could not help but laugh.

Eden heard the commotion and hurried his pace. Men were screaming in agony. A roar sounded that sent chills down the back of Eden’s neck. He saw smoke billow from the town center. At a charge now, Eden finally reached the chaos. There was gore on the street with dead men. One soldier lay on his side, charred to the bone. Eden could not believe what he saw. This was supposed to be a peaceful town. He did not know anyone who would do such a thing. He looked around and saw a woman standing near an alley way. She was laughing. Eden was enraged. He jumped off of Pegasus and screamed.

“Stop!! You vile woman what have you done?”

Eden unsheathed his broadsword and spread his wings. He looked a little to the left and saw a huge fire elemental. Eden turned to Pegasus and the mighty horse stood next to him. He was ready for battle now. He did not know how powerful this foe may be, but he would not die with out a fight. Justice must be restored.

Jasmine stopped laughing when someone screamed out to her. She looked at the man with wings who had yelled at her and grinned. Fire danced in her eyes as she sheathed her katana. With a wicked grin on her face, she took a step toward the angel and said,

“Vile woman? You think I did all this? A mere woman?”

The grin vanished from her face and turned into a vicious scowl. She lit a ball of fire to her hand tightly gripped the whip of fire. Another step she took, readying herself for a fight. She was confidant that this excuse of an angel would not be much of a fight at all.

“So you wish to ruin my fun? Then so be it, but only if you can stop me.”

With a crack of her whip, she sent the fire ball wailing at him.

Eden took in her words and smiled. He was confidant that he would restore justice and peace to this poor town. He tightened the grip on sword and leapt out of the way of the fire ball. It exploded on the wall behind him, sending debris everywhere. He got back to his feet and sent Pegasus to attack the fire elemental. With lightning speed his bow was in his hands and he knocked an arrow. He had the woman in sight and shot at her. The arrow shot like lightning, quick and true. Just after Eden had released his arrow at the vile woman, he leapt to the side and rolled on the ground. Now at the side of his enemy, he threw his knife at her.

Everything seemed to be in slow motion. Eden’s senses were augmented. He could hear the arrow and throwing dagger fly through the air. He felt his heart pounding in his chest and neck. The feel of his shirt when he breathed in and out. All at the same time, Eden was energetic and ready for battle and calm.

Jasmine jumped out of the way of the arrow and thought herself lucky until she felt a stabbing pain in her side. She grabbed whatever was jammed into her side and pulled it out with a scream of pain. She had not even seen that coming. The explosion from her fire bolt had distracted her from seeing the angel make his move. She furious that he had been so sneaky. She considered him lucky.

A loud bang erupted to the side of Jasmine. She looked over and saw a horse with wings attacking her fire elemental. Now she was really mad. Jasmine crouched down and sprung herself at the angel. She unsheathed her katana while in the air and ready to slay the angel. The ring of her katana soothed, allowing her to find her calm within herself. She swung her blade as soon as the opportunity came. Fire danced in her eyes as she envisioned herself bathing in the blood of bringer of peace.

Eden put up his sword to block her attack. The two blades met, creating a stinging sound to the air around them. The impact of their weapons knocked him onto his back. All he had was his sword now. No bow and arrows. No dagger. He could not think of what to do while she still lunged at him. He looked into her eyes and saw flames dancing within them. More than that, he saw madness. He was almost sad for the woman when he saw the madness behind her eyes. She leapt at him, her sword in her hands ready to his life. Eden was scared now, on his back, fearing the last moments of his life. Meera popped into his head and found resolve within himself. He brought his feet up and kicked at the mad woman.

Eden stood up realized that he could not win this fight. The mad woman was too powerful for his taste and too determined to bring chaos. He was angry with himself that he must retreat, but he had no choice. He called out to Pegasus and mounted the horses back once he came ro him. Eden looked up to the sky and kicked the horse’s side. With one flap of his wings, Pegasus was off in the air.

Jasmine screamed in anger that her victim was getting away and summoned Calphurnia. The huge fire bird swept down from the clouds and landed on the ground, awaiting Jasmine command. Jasmine mounted herself atop the phoenix and kicked her side. The fire bird was on it’s way up. The fire elemental stayed on the ground, only to set the buildings aflame.

Jasmine yelled for her phoenix t fly faster and faster to catch her prey. The bird obediently obeyed. Her commands and thrust her powerful wings in the air. Only after a few seconds, Jasmine saw the white spot fly up into the clouds. Calphurnia flew without being told. The bird’s heart was just as cruel as Jasmine’s. Up above the dark clouds, Jasmine could see the angel trying to escape. A wicked grin escaped onto Jasmine’s face as she lit a fire ball. She sent the ball of fire away to the angel, to take him down now. Jasmine screamed in fury as she missed him and saw the fire wiz just passed his head.

Eden nearly fell off at the unexpected ball of flame. He turned to look back and was not surprised to find the mad woman on his tail. With a pull of his reigns, he had Pegasus lower below the clouds. He would have to finish this once and for all. It was going to be either him or her. He closed his eyes and said a silent prayer. He prayed for strength. The earlier fight had taken a lot out of him. He was drained.

They were now in the Debon plains, a goodly distance from the Village of Kellen. Eden got off of his horse and unsheathed his sword. He stuck it in the ground to his right and grabbed his bow and knocked and arrow. He pointed it up at the sky. He was waiting for her. He could feel the rage of the storm over head. And then he felt it. A drop of rain fell to his face. He hoped this would help to his advantage. Or coarse a bird of fire could not fly through rain.
