| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. 'So this is the SpiderHaunt Woods...' Alaric thought, taking in the dark twisting trees and damp ground. Alaric had been looking for adventure for a long time, and he had heard of a place with giant spiders which had the bad habit of capturing adventurers with their web and storing them for food. So far, he had seen no evidence of a giant spider at all, which was sad really because Alaric really did want to have an adventure of some sort. He trudged on further and them his eyes found something interesting... 'AHA!' he thought happily. For Alaric had just seen a skeleton, (well half a skeleton, the legs were missing) which was clutching a broken sword and battered sheild. Whoever this person was, they had met with an unfortunate end. Alaric drew his two handed sword, 'The SkullSpliter' and wondered deeper into the forest looking for any signs of adventure. |

Amarwen scuttled amongst the leaf litter of the forest floor. She'd just been speaking with some of her larger counterparts while Belladonna took a walk. The spiders of Spiderhaunt were waiting for something. The purple spider, only the size of one's hand, finally set all eight eyes on her Mistress' slight figure. Belladonna was silently stalking through the forest, cloaked in black. Through their telepathic link, Bella asked,What've Gorliante and his minion's said? Aparently, Amarwen replied, A war will be raging soon. And, most interestingly, Ranewen has returned. "Ranewen?" Bella whispered to herself. The Goddess had been demoted, so to say, a number of years ago. Her mother had met Ranewen when she wasn't in power. Her thoughts, however, were quickly interrupted when she heard a sword being unsheathed. Amarwen lept onto her shoulder, and she drew from her side her pair of stillettos. The long, sharp blades shined in the little light that made it through the dense forest. Leaping up to a tree branch, she waited, and spotted the person who'd made the noise. Holding her stillettos ready, she asked, "Who goes there?" |

Bane had been walking in the moods, searching for something what it was Bane could not answer. All that he knew was that he had to find this thing, it was calling to him whether it be Bane's destiny he could not know. So he walked through the woods, scaring away the smaller inhabintants with his glowing eye which lit a path through the woods. His cloak glided around him, picking up sticks and dirt as he went along. Clean that later I must remember he thought with a sigh. But he continued along, going for hours trying to figure out why he had been called here. He was about to give up when the sound of cruching tree branches he smiled, maybe he had found it finally. The sound of metal being drawn was heard and Bane smiled, Maybe a few spells are in need of testing? He thouhght this with a dry excitment never getting to happy over such a thing. Bane didn't even remember what it was to feel happy but he did not care his quest against the gods was what consumed him now. Bane moved into a clearing and walked to the end where two trees seemed to guard the way. Standing between them, his glowing eye flashed the area and he found a person standing, sword drawn and a woman standing on a tree branch a few feet up. Knowing he had given himself away, he drew his wand silently waiting to see if they would attack him or simply attack each other. |

Alaric could hear two people coming. Footsteps, which meant that they weren't spiders (Spiders avoid travelling on foot as it makes too much noise) and more likely humans. He turned his head and saw someone, a woman. A woman holding a pair of lethal stilettos, which could easily leave their mark if they were to hit him. But there was someone else, someone in the bushy areas waiting... he could sense them. "I mean you no harm," Alaric said to the woman, "I only wanted to find some adventure in these parts". And to show this, he sheathed his sword across his back again and showed both of his hands to the woman so that there was no doubt he was unarmed. |

"It's foolish to go looking for adventure in this wood," Bella said, twirling her stillettos around and sheathing them,"The spiders here will kill you regardless of who you are. They hunger for meat." Bella jumped out of the tree, pulling back her hood to reveal red curls and a pretty face. She turned away from the man, to the other figure. A glowing eye could be seen beneath the hood of his cloak, though this did not disturb her as it might others. "Who are you? Both of you,"she asked. People simply did not wander through Spiderhaunt Woods, wether they were looking for adventure or not. She was one of the few people that could look at the forest without fear. Spiders were her allies, the demon spirits of the trees her friends. This was her territory. |

Bane saw that they were all sheathing their weapons, Bane however was lest trusting and less eager to put away his wand. The girl asked him who he was and Bane waved his hand showing that there was no need for names as Bane hated talking and had done enough these few past months to last him a lifetime. Bane did not move, not because he was afraid but rather to enhance his appearance and mystique. Bane loved playing games of will and rather hoped this would turn into one he hadn't had a good challenge in many months’ maybe even years and would appreciate one. Knowing that his wand which was now in plain view would probably either make them a little nervous knowing what wizards were capable of or simply ignore it and last take it as a threat. Bane stepped forward, his cloak moving effortlessly with it. He turned to the girl who had no fear of this place or him this was obviously her area or territory as barbarians called it. Which was why she was so ready for battle and not scared of Bane's appearance, yes indeed this could be quite fun even with out the fight. |

Alaric had no time for this game and decided that maybe it would be time to leave and find a spider or something bigger to slay. He turned around and saw something on the ground. "What in the name of Gak?" he said outloud as he crouched down and saw some green sticky liquid, trailing off into the forest. Using his fore finger and hiddle finger, he scooped up some of the green sticky liquid and looked at it more closely. It was blood... and since spider's were the only creatures that virtually lived here, the chances are that it was spiders blood. Alaric began to follow the trail of goo... |

"Hey! Where are you going?" Belladonna yelled as he followed the trail. She unsheated a stilletto, holding it in her hand. Glaring at the man with the glowing eye, and then at the man who was walking away, she followed. It got darker as they walked deeper into the forest. She, of course could still see, and so could Amarwen. The purple demon-spider was sitting excitedly, waiting for the foolish adventurer's impending doom. The green blood glimmered in the dark, like a trail that was begging to drag people into danger. Meanwhile, Gorliante, king of all spiders, was sitting not but a meter away. He was huge, the rest of the spiders merely feeble attempts at his horrific glory. Sharp bumps scattered themselves over his abdomen, spines poking out of his foreleges. He didn't need to see them; he could feel their vibrations. It tickled his slimy, grey underbelly. He clicked his fangs together, beckoning them forth. Belladonna almost laughed when she heard it. Gorliante would take his prey soon enough, and the foolish man would learn his lesson. His last lesson. Shaking her head, she said,"Foolish idea, walking through Spiderhaunt." |

Alaric kept on following the trail of blood... not knowing what lied ahead. Or to be more precise, above. However, maybe the woman didn't know something about how Barbarians are raised. At the age of one they are left to toddle nude in the snow to build up endurance. At the age of three, they are blindfolded and left to wonder around, whilst three other people try to attack the blindfolded individual. This is to build a knowing of when there is danger around. And it is this experiance, that gave Alaric an unknown edge. As soon as he reached the mid-way point of the bloodtrail, something inside his head screamed "DANGER!!! ROLL LEFT!!!" Alaric immediatly jumped to the left and rolled to cushion his landing, and felt the brush of air as a pair of pinsers narrowly missed his stomach area. He heard the sound of something crashing to the ground and when he got to his feet... he could see it. It looked like a spider, but giagantic in proportion. It's 6 eyes fixed upon Alaric drawing his giant two handed sword. "Foolish idea, walking through Spiderhaunt," the woman laughed. But Alaric himself grinned. Barbarians breathed combat and they only felt alive when facing an enemy tougher than theirselves. And Alaric was no different... this was what he called adventure. Alaric waited for the giant spider to make a move. |
