Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

A constant patter of a horse's feet could be clearly heard as Oppel rode through the streets of Taras on the back of his beloved unicorn Gwaith. At a mediocre speed, the wind lightly blew against Oppel's face as his unicorn sought out the Song of Elves Tavern & Inn. Oppel's bright green cloak didn't seem to blend in well with the style of the people of Taras, which attracted many people to turn and stare at him as he went by. This was kind of humorous to Oppel, but he kept on riding towards the Tavern.

After one last turn, Gwaith slowly came to a halt as they neared the Tavern. Oppel dismounted the unicorn, began to walk towards the Tavern. He didn't worry about his unicorn having to be tied up.

Oppel climbed the steps of the tavern, and pushed open the door. In doing so, a great volume of sound bellowed out into the streets from the bards and people within. Oppel stepped inside, and let the door close behind him. He made his way to the bar, where a bartender was standing cleaning some mugs. "Rum please, on the double." he stated as the bartender realised who he was.

"Rig, Right away Oppel, sir." stuttered the bartender as he turned away from the bar. Oppel smirked and turned around, spotting what looked like the only empty table left in the room. Oppel walked towards it, and sat down after taking off his magnificent sloak and swinging it over the back of the chair.

Astalder stood to the left of the tavern doors, leaning on it with his right leg pressed against the wooden planks. He watched in silence as regulars entered and exited the Song of Elves Tavern & Inn. Occasionally he would see people he knew and give them a nod of recognition. He was getting ready to leave, for he felt boredom pass over him like a blanket, until a not so regular rode up to the tavern in a glorious emerald cloak and a steed of magestic wonder. The man dismounted and casually walked into the tavern, either forgetting, or not caring about, tieing up his Unicorn.

Astalder quirked an eyebrow as the Unicorn stood in place swishing its tail back and forth, occasionally lifting it's head high in the air. Astalder didn't have any rope on him for he did not have a steed of his own, so he decided to walk into the Inn and tell the man himself.

Astalder took a step inside the inn and looked about. The inn seemed quite full, yet it was not hard to spot the man's cloak for it stuck out like a sore thumb next to everyone else. Slowly he bean walking toward the figure until he reached where the man sat.

"Excuse me, sir. I'm not sure if you were aware of this but you seemed to have forgotten to tie up.... your....." Astalder's eyes widened, and thined into slits as he squinted at the man. He looked oddly familiar, yet Astalder couldn't quite put his finger on it. Was he a guild member? No... Was he an ally in a war of some kind?... Yes... Yes that was it, but which quarrel was it I saw him in?... "Sir, do I know you by chance?" Astalder asked politely.

Oppel looked up to see the man who had addressed him. He smirked, having remembered this man from a battle against a dark force quite some time ago. "I do believe we have met, some time ago. And if you were coming to inform me about the fact that my unicorn is not tied up, I don't feel it is necessary to do so. My unicorn is to civil and compassionate to have to be tied up."

After finishing his sentence, a bard began to play a tune on his lute which carried an awful melody. This indicated that the bard had had to much to drink. Oppel cringed as the notes had no consistence and each one seemed to clash with the next. Oppel stood up, and marched over to the bard. "Sir I must ask you to quit your playing." The bard looked up at Oppel and began to laugh.

"You! The EX-god of nature dare tell me what to do?" He and some other men began to laugh. Oppel knew that some may not have been informed that Oppel had regained his position of god of nature, and smiled at the man. Oppel raised his right hand, and a green ball of light appeared, hovering slightly over his hand. With a flick of his wrist, the green ball of light left Oppel's hand and collided into the lute which blew it into an array a various sized pieces that flew across the room.

"I'm back." stated Oppel as he walked back to where he was seated, and sat once again. "Well the bartender is bringing me a drink, care to have him bring one for you to?" he spoke to the elf who had joined him.

Astalder nodded as the cloaked Elf spoke fondly of his unicorn, but Astalder really wanted to see it to beleive it. He leaned back from the bench a little to peer out of the open door. He could still see the silver white tail swishing around effortlessly. Astalder was very surpised. He'd never seen a regular be able to take good care into such a rare and shy animal so much it would trust him like this. Though, perhaps this man was not a regular...

Just then, a horrid plucking noice came fom the back, and drunken slurred words were attempted to form a song, though the man couldn't seem to know what he was singing about. Astalder rubbed his temples in disgust as the bard held out an annoying long note. The Elf he had sat with stood up and walked over to the bard and asked him to stop. Words were exhanged for a moment and he watched n astonishment as the man summoned a green orb and obliterated the bards lute.

Astalder's first reaction was to frown. He was a musician himself and didn't like the sight of such great instruments wasted. He supposed it was at least one option on how to stop the drunken man. He recalled the bard yelling EX-god of nature though.... This would surely explain all the things he's seen. As the man walked back and offered him a drink he said "A water would be quite nice." Astalder didn't like to use alchohol leisurely.

"So, how have you been.... Oppel is it?" Astalder said, looking up at the Elf and smiling.
