Zydus had heard of the rumours about the 'empty ship' that is said to be down at the docks, quarantined off from the rest of the city and suposedly being watched by the city guard. Curious as he is sometimes, Zydus decided to head down to the docks and check out what was happening. Once arriving down there, he noticed the a few guards around crates stacked near another ship. He decided hat he may as well come back later when there were less guards, and it was abit lighter.

Turning to leave the dockyard, Zydus heard a sudden scream from someone. A man came running towards Zydus, which meant that Zydus was spotted or the man was running away from something. Dodging out of the way, Zydus let the man run past him, which turned out to be a worker at the docks. Weird, though Zydus. Turning his attention back to the guards he noticed they were looking at the quarantined ship with their swords in their hands tightly.

This led Zydus to creep forward and he looked towards the 'empty ship'. A creature, resembling a Goblin shape and size jumped from the side of the ship and onto the docks, themselves. Suddenly more of them came out of nowhere and they charged the guards, sabers rasised in the air. A furious skirmish between the guards and Goblins erupted. More and more of them came, numbering between 20 to 30. Zydus couldn't believe what was happening. Goblins in Taras?, he thought. He decided that he should help the heavily out-numbered guards, who were now reinforced to about 15 men. Unleashing his sword, Zydus ran towards the fighting and cut down a Goblin upon his arrival. The fighting became worse and worse, with screaming from each side all around...

Meera had many a memory of the town Taras. She was not alone in that fact, but the memories themself were the cause for individuality. A while ago her most saddening memory made itself. Her friend Kli was leaving to her land. As Meera watched, she learned, as well as Kli, about her heritage and that she was indeed a queen. Kli was obligated to return to her land and lead her people. The ship upon which Meera had last seen her friend left from here. Meera could recall almost every detail of the ship, what she was wearing, how she got here, and every emotion that she felt along the way. This memory was one of the ones that she held very dearly in her heart and mind. It was one that she would not soon forget. Now, as Meera walked along almost the same path that she had taken to get to Kli, her mind ran over that sad day. It was hard to watch Kli go, but Meera knew that it was selfish to ask her to stay here. There were many things that needed to be done as a queen and it would be ruining her people to keep their queen for selfish reasons.

Still walking absentmindedly caught up in her memories, she heard a scream. It jolted her out of her reverie and rudely back into the real world. As she looked ahead of her, she was back near the docks. In fact she was right on the threshold that seperated land and dock. Looking back up with a real, directed gaze, Meera saw the source of the scream as the goblin jumped off the ship. Many questions burst into Meera's mind at that point but other ones cleared them all out. Just knowing that the guards couldn't do it all alone, she unsheathed her water sword. Then, to help her out, she summuned both a water and air elemental. Smiling, she waited until the goblins spotted her. One let out a scream and raged towards her. She knew she could take this one so she sent her elementals to fight other ones. Ducking down as he grabbed for her throat, she quickly slit the stomach and fought back an urge to vomit as its innards came out. The goblin howled in pain but was still alive. Meera gave it no time to launch another attack as she slit its throat. The creature collapsed to the ground and Meera was finally able to see the fighting behind it. She saw a man, who did not look like a guard but looked as if he knew why they were here and would help vanquish them. Meera fought her way towards the man, slicing down goblins as she went. She asked "what the hell happened here?" As she swung her sword and sliced another goblin's head off neatly.

Zydus held shis ground as Goblin after Goblin charged at him, usually ending up on the ground dead or attempting to retreat behind the skirmish. More Goblins kept coming now, and they were still growing in numbers. Zydus couldn't understand what was happening. How did they all manage to get here - and in Taras of all places. Why hadn't the ship been searched properly, as he knew it had been searched? Swinging his sword at the seemingly sea of Goblins, heads and other Goblin bodyparts flew through the air - accompanied by a large, bloodcurdling scream.

Zydus had just managed to punch a Goblin into the water as it tried to jump at him from the side. The Goblin seemed not to be able to swim, as it disappeared into the water like a large rock. Continuing his gaze at the Goblins and Guards in combat, Zydus saw a woman come towards him. Answering her question, he said quickly, "Goblins! They came from that ship!" He had not time to continue on speaking as sly looking Goblin attempted to cut at his legs, which led Zydus jump backwards and ferociously cut the Goblin down by stabbing it's chest. Quickly, he said to the woman, "How'd you get here so quick?"

Out of the corner of her eye, Meera spotted a goblin coming at her back. Quickly, she twirled around kicking her foot out. With a sickening crack, her foot connected with one goblin's jaw. As it continued its circle, it sent another goblin tumbling backwards and pulling more goblins down with it. A smirk settled on her face momentarily. As soon as she saw that there was still a steady stream of them coming from the ship, she scanned her memory of spells, she found one that worked very well in disabling the abilities of monsters. She heard the man's question and did not quite understand what he meant. She said "What? I was just walking along and saw the disruption. That does not seem very quick to me." Before swinging her sword sideways in an arc, knocking out three goblins. She didn't bother to wait for an answer because she had a plan that she needed to get in action as soon as she could. She called "Close your eyes and cover your ears, quickly!" Moving her hands in front of her, she created a large ball of magical energy. She threw it up in the air and it burst creating a searing light and loud boom. The goblins screeched and their hands instantly went to either their eyes or their ears.

Calling out to the man, Meera said "Allright, quickly, get as many as you can as they are disabled." She didn't take one step where she didn't cut down a goblin along the way. In her mind, she divided the small circle that the two of them had made around themself in half. She took down as many as she could on her side. She only hoped that the man would do the same. Slowly, the goblins began removing their hands and shaking themselves as if to rid them of the terrible pain from the flashburst spell. As soon as the goblins had finsihed with recovering, they realized what Meera was doing and began attacking her again. She was forced to back up to where she was before. She told herself, at least she got as many as she could. She didn't want to risk a glance though to see how the man did, instead she called over her shoulder, "You okay?"

Zydus looked at the woman puzzled. "I mean --" He had to stop quickly as she told him to close his eyes, and cover his ears. This he did quickly. Realising that what she had just done caused all the Goblins nearby to freeze, or become paralysed, Zydus began to swing his sword without any mercy. Goblin after Goblin fell to the ground, no pain or scream being noticebale form the because of their statue-like stance. Suddenly, Zydus noticed that there was some movement in the backrow of the frozen Goblins. The movement spread to the other Goblins like a wave, and before he knew it they were being attacked once again.

Pulling back abit alongside the already tired Guards, Zydus looked towards the woman. He was quite impressed at her abilities, and saw many Goblin corpses scattered along near her. Though Goblins, by themselves at least, weren't really a threat unless in large groups or warbands. Parrying a Goblin's cheap swing at him, he heard the woman call, and to him he thought. Kicking the Goblin back and then slicing it's stomach, Zydus replied, "I'm fine..." He just managed to throw a Goblin off his back by flipping it over and piercing it on the ground. "...how about you?"

Taking a quick glance over the head of the goblins, she let out a sigh, there were still many more to go and it didn't look like the goblins were going to be doing anything other than fighting any time soon. As Meera scanned her expanse of spell knowledge again and absentmindedly swiped a goblin's head off again, she winced at her own stupidity. She had a spell that would protect her from their attacks. Quickly she cast her spell and her body was instantly liquified. She waited patiently as a goblin smiled and swiped a hand at her. Where the hand went, her body moved and the hand simply went right through her. The confused look on the goblin's face made it Meera's turn to smile. She grinned mischeviously. She was happy that they were near an ocean. They were in her element. They had no chance. She lifted a liquid hand to cast a spell while answering the man's question. She said "Well I think I'll survive" with a hint of laughter in her voice. To her, this little skirmish was truly a bit of fun. It would help her practice her magic.

A large waterspout erupted from the sea and blew many of the goblins near the edge of the dock off. Meera smiled still and made another waterspout from the other side. Happy with the outcome Meera almost forgot about the elementals that she had summoned at the beginning of the skirmish. She cut down another goblin then scanned the crowd. She saw another watery figure like her own body and knew that her water elemental was still slaying the goblins. To her dismay though, she didn't see the air elemental. Almost boredly, she conjured another one up and directed it to her right. It left a slaughtered path as it made its way farther away to slay more. While she watched it, a goblin saw his chance and slashed at her side. Meera gasped at the pain and grabbed her side. She was quickly angered and seperated torso from hips. She breathed heavily through the pain. She knew she could heal herself but there was no time now. She became even more focused upon killing the vile creatures and swung her sword with vengance.

Once Zydus heard a reply from the woman, he began to get into the fighting more abruptly now. Doing the usual, simple tactics that nearly anyone could do against a Goblin, Zydus slaughtered many in front of him. There was a sudden cry from one of the Guards. It was not good for them at this moment, as the supposed leader of this band of city guards appeared to have been slain -- which wasn't good in terms of morale for the outnumbered guards. More Guards may come, but that wasn't happening at the minute Zydus thought. He saw the woman easily helping herself to a handful of attacking Goblins, which gave Zydus the chance to get the defending City Guard's morale back up.

Pinning a Goblin to the ground with his sword, and then releasing it from the Goblin's ribs, Zydus turned to the men who were fighting beside him. From a very young age, Zydus was considered to be a great leader by the children of his old orphanage and this gave him the push to lead the remaining men. Shouting he called out, hoping they'd hear through all of this fighting, "We have to push them back to the boat..." He was attacked by two Goblins who nearly wounded him, but one was slain by a Guard and Zydus sweeped the other into the water with his sword. "...you must move forward! No matter how many we kill, we still don't know how many are left on that ship! We will be gradually pushed back and cornered if we stay like this!" Why he was shouting, he had to fight Goblin after Goblin who dared to try and attack him.

At that one moment when Meera had forgotten to keep the spell on, the goblin had scratched her. She cursed at herself in her foolishness and held her hand to her side as the blood seeped through her clothes. Still Able to fight off the goblins one handed, she kept them back. They were relatively smart and knew of her weakness now so they began to attack that side, causing her to have to turn so that her sword arm was towards them and not across her body. She took one more quick glance over at the man. She saw and heard what he was telling the guards. She knew how hard it was to both fight and talk so she backed up so that they were almost back to back. She was angry now. The goblins had injured her and they would pay. She growled to the man, "keep talking to the men, I've got your back" and swung her sword once again in a neat arc, slicing up more goblins. She cursed them in her head, she was getting tired and was no longer able to keep up her liquid form. Even simple spells would weaken her to the point of not being able to fight. Not knowing how long that it would take them to fight, Meera had to assume the longest. She couldn't fight like this for that long.

Thinking hard on how to conserve her energy, she scanned her knowledge. Flashing past were her companions. Stopping her train of thought suddenly, a smile lit Meera's face. Ciaran!! She took her bloody hand off of her wound and whistled loudly. She knew it would take him a few moments, so with renewed hope, she slashed at more goblins. Hearing the thud of his hooves on the ground brought an even brighter smile onto her face. Her battle unicorn, Ciaran, was here to carry her. As he trampled his way through the groups of goblins, Meera couldn't help but laugh at the surprised look on their faces. Ciaran only bobbed his head before Meera grabbed his mane and pulled herself up. She gasped at the sudden pain of streaching her wound, but was able to put it past her as she directed Ciaran into battle. She started by directing him in a circle around the man, widening the space around him. She smiled down at him and said "I'm giving you time. Explain what you need to these men," while jerking her head towards the guards, "I'll take care of the fighting for now." She laughed and urged Ciaran on, occaisonally swiping a head off of a goblin.

Zydus talked on to the guards, urging them to follow him when he would try and push through the remaining Goblins. He gazed around at the bodies of dead Goblins lying all over this area. There were so many, making it impossible to count them all at a time like this. Yet, he still fought on while talking to the guards at the same time, or screaming out orders if you'd like to call it that. Taking a glance over at the woman, who seemed to be hurt as she held her side with one of her hands, he then had to turn and respond to a close stabbing move by a Goblin - which sliced at his leg, but wasn't too serious. "Are you all with me, or would you like to stay here and be massacred by this Goblin host?!" More encouraging words, he thought, as he hadn't done this sort of thing in a long, long time.

Zydus looked over his shoulder, and heard the woman speak to him, urging him to encourage the men more. This he was doing, but it was quite hard in this type of situation. Some men though acknowledged Zydus' call and fought beside him. After killing about three more Goblins, Zydus heard the quick thumps of hooves approaching them. He was quite surprized with this, even hoping it was reinforcements. Turning, he saw the woman pull herself onto a unicorn!, which surprized Zydus. Tactically, she made space around him, and urged Zydus to continue his talk to the men. Zydus smiled greatfully, and gave her a quick salute with one of his fingers. "Men - now we have the chance! Follow me, and we'll deal with this 'invasion' once and for all!" He wasn't sure if they'd follow him, but to his gladness they did. Zydus looked towards the woman on her unicorn, and while smiling shouted, "Ready when you are!" He was sure his voice would probably be hoarse after this.

Meera smiled down at the man as she continued to direct Ciaran in circles around him. She listened eagerly while he directed the men and motivated them to fight harder and stronger than they had been. Meera leaned forwards on Ciaran's neck as she sliced away goblins trying to grab ahold of the unicorn. Ciaran fought back in his own way by spearing some with his horn and occaisionally kicking out with either his front or back legs. When Meera came back around in front of the man and saw him salute, she couldn't help but laugh and return her own small one. She continued to circle until the goblins were very far away. She stopped Ciaran when she was standing next to the man. The goblins grumbled and began to close in on them again. Meera flashed them a warning glare before she feinted a charge with Ciaran and caused them to jump backwards. She then smiled again and turned to the man, waiting to see what he wanted to do. She looked at some of the gaurds that were standing next to them and fighting. Meera flashed them a happy smile and said "You are good men, may you always be blessed by the gods."

She heard the man tell her that he was ready when she was. She called down to him "I'm ready right now" and urged Ciaran into a gallop towards a place where most of the goblins were. A few of them Ciaran was able to trample and take out with his one spiraling horn and others Meera was able to cut, either disabling or killing them. When they came out the other side of the group, Meera wheeled Ciaran back around for another charge from the other side. Meera couldn't help but laugh again as she saw that there was a pathway of fallen goblins where she and Ciaran had run through. Galloping Ciaran towards the goblins again, Meera called to the man "How are you doing?" She didn't know because while charging, she had pulled herself away from the group. She didn't know what happened after she seperated herself, but she knew that all of them were able-bodied fighters and could take care of themself. There was a reason for carrying a sword and she knew that they would put it to good use in this bloody battle.

Zydus watched as the woman began her charge at the crowd of Goblins coming off the ship. Looking at the men, who were now quite tired he prepared himself for the run towards the Goblins who were still jumping off the boat. His homeland must never be breached like this again, he thought, as his patriotical pride began to fill up in him even though he once regarded Taras as only being his birthplace - not his actual home. Turning his eyes towards the host of Goblins still trying to get to them, his thinking slowed. Even though time was passing by normally, to him at this moment, it felt like much longer. He looked at his sword, and then back up to the woman still charging the Goblins down. "Now or never!", he said to himself queitly.

Calling out to the men at his side and behind him, loudly he shouted. "Our chance is now!... Turning his head back to the Goblins, he then shouted, "Charge them down!" Running forward, his pace greatly increased and the men behind him screamed as if they were going into their last fight. There weren't many of them, compared to the Goblin numbers that is, but they fought the front rank of Goblins ferociously which must've made the Goblins feel outnumbered, instead of the Guards. Zydus began cutting down the surviving Goblins with an unseen courage, and in the middle of it all he looked towards the woman who had killed many, indeed. Smiling he shouted towards her, "Thanky you!", and continued on his fighting, for she had given him time to rally the guards. To Zydus, it felt like a battle.

Meera felt a small empty space in her stomach after her magic was tired out. During this particular battle, it had gone relatively quickly. Since she hadn't used magic in a while, she could feel the space building up inside of her. Her magic was slowly coming back. She now could cast a small spell. Not one like her liquid form spell, but just a small one that could help out greatly depending on what spell it was. She thought to her healing spells and decided on her Aid one. Lifting up her non-sword arm, she cast it on the man and three of the guards. The spell was quite helpful, it healed some of their minor wounds and gave them inspiration. She didn't know quite how it would affect them individually, but she knew that it could help at least a little bit. Now with her magic drained completely again, she concentrated on the melee battle at hand. She was happy that Ciaran had been nearby, she knew him to be a good battle steed and he was used to the area. He did not spook easily and she was thankful for that. Meera knew that her fire horse Enzo did not do good in situations like this. He balked at people by his head and disliked all of the noise with the yelling.

As she heard the man yell thank you, she smiled and said "No problem. I did not do much." She was a modest person and liked to share whatever she got wether it be tangible or not. Quickly slicing some goblins away from her legs, she almost missed some by Ciaran's head again, trying to gain control of the unicorn. Batting them away with her sword, she had to lean over and make herself vulnerable to attacks on the side like the one that she had gotten before. She always made sure that there were no goblins nearby when she did this though so that did not matter. That was of course until one of the goblins got smart and dodged in right as she leaned forwards. He sliced at her foot, trying to disable the use of her legs. When Meera reacted, she thanked the gods that she had tough traveling boots, The scratch made a slight indentation in the boots but did not scathe her leg. Meera sliced his head off and turned to check on the man again.

Zydus had just finished off a group of Goblins with a few of the guards, when all of a sudden he felt quite refreshed. He didn't know where this feeling may have come from, but he felt a lot more energetic now. Beginning on the next batch of these vile creatures, Zydus cut the first down with ease and watched another Goblin being pinned to the ground by a guard's spear. Seeing this made Zydus believe more that there was a chance of pushing the Goblins back and this sort of thing, he knew, would greatly increase the men's morale. He was even beginning to feel like a leader, or something similar. Looking towards the women, he saw her behead an assaulting Goblin but this was a short distraction, for he turned around to find a Goblin nearly at him.

Zydus jumped slightly back, in a dodging way, and took the Goblin's sword arm right off with one clean swipe. Though, this didn't deter it for long as Goblins are vicious creatures with probably no conscience, and it tried to bite at Zydus, which was quite surprizing to him. Even with all it's effort, the Goblin just became another corpse on the bloody wooden platforms.

Seeing that he was doing very well since her aid spell, she felt more refreshed herself. Even though it was not true, her mind believed that they had more of a chance of defeating them. With a smile still on her face, she pushed Ciaran forwards, trampling down a few unsuspecting goblins. Then, all of a sudden, a good idea came to her mind all of a sudden. She turned towards the boat and noticed that there was still a steady stream of goblins coming from inside. She was able to compare to a small lake. It was far easier to drain the lake if you stopped up all of the sources. She laughed at the fact that she hadn't noticed that before. Quickly, she turned Ciaran to the right after kicking out her foot and catching a goblin in the jaw, hearing a satisfying crack. As Ciaran turned, he swiped all of the goblins away from his head with his horn. He speared some and shoved others to the ground to be trampled under his unforgiving feet. Meera then lightly spurred him into a gallop, parting the goblis in a path towards the ship where all of the goblins were coming from. With her sword out to the side, she guided Ciaran carefully up the plank onto the ship. Finally triumphant, she focused her attention on where the main stream of goblins were coming from. Before she could focuse on that, she realized that the goblins were circling up on her again.

Sighing and rolling her eyes, she hacked down the unwary few who wandered towards her in hopes of catching her off-gaurd. Goblins were not really a hard foe to Meera. They were not very smart. The only thing that really was a concern was that they were able to move quickly. In bulk like this though, they couldn't move hardly anywhere and that factor did not matter as much. Quickly realizing that in their circle position, Meera could not effectively fend off both sides, she reached to her other hip and pulled out her fire scmitar. Immedietly it burst into flames. That was another reason why she was thankful to have Ciaran. He didn't spook at the fire, he had seen many and trusted Meera to not burn him. Now, Meera didn't have to keep switching her water sword from each side. She tightened her legs' grip on Ciaran's stomach, then urged him forwards through the sea of goblins. The going was slow and tough. She realized that it was going to be incredibly hard by herself. Quickly, she turned to the man and said "I'm trying to find where the goblins are coming from. I could use your assistance please." Not having a moment after that, she turned back to swiftly slicing the goblins on each side of her.

Zydus was continuing his seemingly endless slaughter of Goblins. He couldn't understand why there were so many, even though an unchecked Goblin population can be a challenge, this was not their home - or so he thought at least. Looking around every moment he could, he saw the woman on the ship surrounded by even more Goblins than what there was on the docks. Stabbing one of the creatures to the ground, Zydus heard the woman request his assistance - which Zydus was thinking of doing anyway. Though the problem was not helping her, but getting through the 'hordes' of Goblins that were in his path. He had to think of something, and quick too.

Looking around he thought of a way he could reach the ship. Deciding there was too much chaos to try and sneak around, which seemed quite amusing to him, he thought of the simplest, but most dangerous way -- charge through the Goblins. Raising his sword, and pointing it forwards he began to sprint, knocking any Goblins out of his way. Reaching the plank, basically unharmed during his charge, he punched a Goblin off it and smirked as they tumbled into the water below. He smiled at the woman, exhaustedly, and stood by her steed while fending off the 'brave ones'.
