| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Kieran closed the door behind him. Nearby, a bard was singing, so most of their attentioon was on the bard. The young theif crossed the room and walked right up to the bar. "And what will you have?" The barkeep asked him. The older man was cleaning a glass with a towel. "An ale." Keiran replied, looking around for a possible prospect. He put the payment for the ale on the hardwood counter and slid it over to the bartender. The bartender took it and then turned for a brief moment to fill a mug with ale. In that brief moment, Kieran had spotted a victim. A nobleman who was watching the bard. He hated noblemen. They were nothing but huge money taking grubs. The nobleman's money bag was hanging from his belt, secured tightly with a small strong rope. The bartender turned and put the mug on the counter. Kieran thanked him and then procceded to seemingly walk by the nobleman. The man never felt Kieran's dagger slice cleanly through the rope. Nor did he feel it when the theif took the bag, emptied its contents into his own money bag and put it on its owner's lap. Kieran smiled to himself as he took a seat at an empty table. |

Justin was very drunk. He'd had six pints already that evening. The bard finished his song. "C'mon man, sing another," he shouted. A group looking at the bard cried out, "Yeah another one." Justin reached for his money bag. "Barkeep, gimme another pint." The barkeeper handed him the drink. "That's £3 then please." Justin drained the drink and then screamed, "some little rat has stolen my money!" and he looked around the bar. His eyes rested on a young man counting some coins over at a table. How could a commoner get that much money? He walked over and faced the man. |

Stirling licked his lips as he watched the human boy rob the noble. Cheeky little thing, ain't he? he thought, a faint smile draping itself over his face. There was potential in that kid, make no mistake. Picking up his ale, the Half-Drow stood and worked his way swiftly throught the croud. Seating himself opposite the boy, he took a long draught of his drink. When he was finished, he offer an ash-grey hand. "Name's Stirling, and that was a smooth move you just pulled." |

"Some little rat has stolen my money!" Someone roared. Kieran smiled into his mug. His hand swiped the coins on the table and he discreetly put them into his own money bag. Kieran looked at the Half Drow with a grin. "Thanks. Name's Kieran. Kieran Ross." He murmured softly, shaking the Half Drow's hand. Then he turned to face the angered nobleman and gave an innocent smile. "What might be your problem, sir?" He asked him as he put the ale mug down. |

The kid's got talent, I'll admit that. But let's see how he weasels out of this one. Stirling turned to face the noble, who had strode up to them, looking angry. If the kid could bluff his way through the noble, he might even consider making him his apprentice. The Half-Drow leant back and watched what was about to happen. |

"Can't good honest folk earn their own money?" Kieran spoke smoothly. he brandished his own money bag. It looked pitifully light. At the time the Half Drow was talking to him, the cunning theif had put the stolen money into the Half Drow's pocket. The rest of his money, the ones he had originally, were in random places on Kieran's body, hidden under his clothing and muffled by cloth. His pockets, however were empty, since that was the first place anyone would look. his boots however, were another story completely. Kieran gave the Half Drow a glance, then resumed his attention to the nobleman. "Violence is never the answer, my friend. Count my coins, and you will see. I never stole your money." He opened his bag upended it. Two coins came out. Only two. They hit the wood with a small metallic ping. "Two coins, my good sir." |

Justin looked at the two coins. He was angry, and some commoner had just made him angrier. "Lying, cheating scum," he said, looking around the pub. It was coming on dark outside and Justin new that if he did not find the money soon he wouldn't be able to find a place to stay. The man across the table looked innocent, so he thought it couldn't be him. Suddenly, he noticed a large pouch in his pocket. "Ah ha, got you, commoner," He smiled and reached for the bag. |

Stirling had felt the boy slip the money into his pocket, but had let it go. It was a good trick, and he noted to use it himself. But now the bloody noble was accusing him of stealing it. That wouldn't do. As the knight reached over, the Half-Drow grabbed his wrist and pinned it on the table. He then pulled out his dagger and jammed it into the wood between the noble's fingers. Putting his face near the man's, he hissed to him "Look, I don't know where you came from, but around here you don't go acusing everyone for your money troubles." Releasing him and pushing the human back, he stood as he yanked his dagger out of the table. "If you're looking for your gold, then see the bartender. You drunk it all away hours ago." By now everyone was looking at them. |

Kieran mentally gave a sigh of relief. His pounding heart had slowed, now that everyone was looking at Stirling and not him. The theif scooped the two coins on the table and put them into his own money bag, which had been lying on the table all that time. He felt uncomfortable, mostly because the attention had been on him. Now that their prying gaze had been lifted away, Kieran felt he could relax. The young theif shot Stirling a look of gratitude, then he attached his own money pouch to his belt. |

The knife came away from his neck. He staggered backwards, tripped on a stool and fell over. He looked up at the two men sitting at the table. Commoners he thought. He'd get them some other day. Justin stood up, sheathed his katana and walked towards the door. He stopped at the door, then added, "Oh, that wasn't all my cash. I always keep a reserve just incase a commoner like you comes along and steals it. You two like too come with me?" Then he left. |
