| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"Yeah... I think that I've been plane-walking since I was born. I can't remember who my parents are, but I remember that since young I've been always getting that slight nauseating feeling. Now that I know how to planeswalk my self, I understand that the nauseating feeling was a sign of weakness in an inexperienced planeswalker. After all, you can't expect a baby to planeswalk, can't you?" He winked. Aegion sat there in silence for a moment, looking at Brynn. Why is she so interested in planeswalking? Curiosity, perhaps? Or a deeper agenda? Or is she just placing the subject of the topic himself, so that he won't ask anything about her? |

Brynn laughed quietly, just for a few seconds. He had a point. She took a sip of her drink before she realised he was watching her. Anybody watching her made her feel uncomfortable. She swallowed her ale and tried to ignore his gaze. After only a few seconds, though, she couldn't stand it any longer, and turned to look at Aegion, a very slight smile on her face. "What is it?" she asked him shortly, though her smile was still intact. |

Aegion immediately noticed her uneasiness when he looked at her. He ignored the temptation to soulgaze her again, knowing that she was somewhat uncomfortable with new acquaintances, the reason being her past, or what she did in the past. All that he had learnt when he soulgazed her previously. From her looks, even though she was smiling, he could tell that she was uncomfortable when he just looked at her, nevermind soulgaze. Then again, what would a lovely lady like Brynn have to hide? He once knew several friends who were of Chaotic Good align, they were kind of rowdy and unlawful, but they still had a sense of honor, loyalty and friendship. "Nothing, Lady Ryder. I was just curious about something..." He let his sentence drift, unsure if he should continue. |

Brynn tipped her head to the side slightly. "Yes?" she prompted. She was curious as what he was going to ask, though she probably wouldn't like it. Before, she felt as though he'd been looking past her eyes, and she wondered whether he had somehow been able to. The thought made her feel queasy. |

Aegion hesitated for a moment, before continuing, "I was just curious about your purpose here, Lady Ryder. If you feel that I am untrustworthy at the moment, it's fine; it is not very wise to trust a new acquaintance so quickly - I understand. However, if I seem like a trustworthy person to you and a potential friend, would you mind sharing your... purpose here?" He glanced at Zydus, who was rather lost in his thoughts, then at Brynn again. He knew that she was not here on a mere sightseeing tour, she was here for something else, something that he did not knew yet. Perhaps if he knew more about her, her strengths and skills, he might be able to help her, and she might be valuable in his upcoming quest, a quest that he had been planning for a long time. |

Brynn didn't answer immediately. She bit her lip thoughtfully as she surveyed Aegion and glanced at Zydus. "My purpose?" she asked, though she now knew that Aegion had seen something when he first looked at her. And she didn't like it one bit. "Why, Lord Ragnarok; you make it sound so sinister." She laughed lightly, though it was forced. "I live here now - there is no real reason for this. I lost my family and now I make my life here." She shrugged, trying to make this sound as clear-cut as possible. She was telling the truth, but she had a feeling he'd know that it wasn't the whole truth. |

He nodded silently. He had noted the uneasiness and the forced laugh, but did not mention it. He knew that she was not speaking the whole truth, but he did not want to force her. She would tell him when she felt more comfortable around him. Aegion smiled warmly at Brynn, "My apologies if I made you uneasy, Lady Ryder. I was just letting my curiosity get the better of me. I'll keep my curiosity in check next time." As if speaking to himself, he continued, Gollum-style, "Bad curiosity! Bad curiosity!" |

Brynn tried to relax. "That's fine; I have to admit that I haven't spoken to decent people in a long time - I apologise for seeming rude." She bowed her head slightly, then looked back up at them, smiling. "It is fine to be curious, my Lord, I do not mind that. And it's not that I don't trust either of you," she included Zysud in this statement. "It's just habit." She shrugged again. |

"Agreed. One must be careful around people, especially in unfamiliar grounds. As a wanderer or adventurer, one must not be too trustworthy and one must be naturally suspicious of all beings. Inculcating this as a habit is only natural for an experienced drifter." Aegion glanced outisde, and said, "The light has faded outside, and the tavern is most likely going to close anytime." He gestured at the adventurers slowly going upstairs to their rooms. "I suppose that it's time that we retire to our respective rooms. Rooms can be rented at the innkeeper's over there... Is there anything else?" Aegion stifled a yawn, magically bringing his leather cloak from the coathanger at the door towards him. |

Zydus looked at Brynn and Aegion. They're conversation had been quite deep, or so he thought, and quite long. He had been quiet most of the time during their talk, and decided it was time for him to speak. "Quite a talk you two had." He looked at them both, and thought to himself quietly. He began to smile slowly. "Well, as Aegion pointed out it is quite dark now, and if you two need to get some sleep, I'll not stop you." Zydus wasn't actually going to go to bed, yet. He would book his room, but he was planning on going outside -- back to his old orphanage. He needed to find out some information, and had heard that the woman who ran the place goes out during the day, only returning at night. "I think I'll stay down here for a while, though." He did trust them both, but he didn't want to say that he would be away for a short while. Even the most trustful person can suspect a motive like that. |

Brynn nodded slowly. She wouldn't book a room; she could afford it. She knew they didn't think her poor, but people had been wary about hiring her lately. She knew it was because she a woman, and she detested it. But there was one thing lined up for her, though, as usual, she wasn't looking forward to it. "Well," she said, "if you boys are off to bed, I shall be going home. Actually," she frowned, trying to remember ... "What day is it today? I think I may have an ... appointment." She looked at Aegion, almost silently daring him to ask. She very much hoped her night of normalcy wasn't compromised, but if it was, it was. |

Zydus was quite surprised. She's going home? Zydus had planned to go out for a while, but he wasn't planning on returning home to Kellen tonight. His sneaking out may also have to be cancelled, if he could not manage to go outside without being spotted by Brynn. He didn't want to seem suspicious. He had his reasons for going out, and Brynn probably had hers...but he did not plan on getting spotted by either Brynn or Aegion. Zydus had to rethink what he would do. "You're going home? Are you sure you don't want to stay at the Inn?" |

Brynn shook her head quickly. "I'm not going back to where I come from - I have a ... house here in the city. But, like I said, I have to run some errands first. I should get going." She was certain now that it was the right night. And besides - a day or two off wasn't going to matter, the man had said so himself. Brynn stood, flashing a smile at the men; she didn't even notice she'd changed her story from 'appointment' to 'errand'. She drained the rest of her ale, but remained perfectly sober. It was something one of her friends back home had taught her. "Thank you for the company, and the conversation," she said genuinly; she had enjoyed it. She held out her hand to shake theirs. |

Zydus hadn't noticed the change in her words either. He decided not to try and talk Brynn into staying at the Inn -- he was sure he could still manage to get to the orphanage. He slowly stood up, and reached out to shake Brynn's hand. He usually kisses the hands of lady companions, but didn't want to do it this time -- just incase Brynn didn't like it. He smiled at her. "I enjoyed the little talk we have had tonight. I hope we meet again." |

Brynn nodded as she shook Zydus' hand. "So do I, my Lord," she said, and she meant it. As she turned to shake Aegion's hand, she saw a man out the window; he was stumbling, quite drunk, and turned down an alley. "Lord Ragnarok," she said, going to shake his hand, too, trying to speed up the goodbye. "I do hope we'll meet again." |
