Aegion had been on a journey back to Taras after his horrific quest in the Netherealms. He covered his head with his hood and wrapped most of his body with his cloak. Looking like just any Karadior adventurer, he used his magic staff as a walking stick due to his fatigue. He had been travelling for days and he could not find any sign of civilization.
Aegion mumbled, and did a small gesture and immediately felt his body rejuvenated.
Luckily I still have my heal spell or I wouldn't have survived this far...
Most of his items gone, and nearly all of his skills and spells have been vanquished while travelling in the Dead City of Niffleheim, and although he had wearily completed the quest and put the souls of millions to rest, he still had horrifying nightmares of skeletal wraiths and tortured corpses lying on the floor, mutilated beyong recognition but still living due to the undead essence in the area. In a flash, his mind returned to the scene of the Meat Room in the Zavatak Palace, otherwise known as the Blood Palace. Pictures of corpses strewn over multiple tables in different arrays of mutilation and disembowlment streamed through his mind. The corpses had been squirming, dead but yet not dead.
He shuddered and pushed these disturbing images out of his mind.
"Take the prisoners... GO!!!"
Aegion was snapped out of his trance like state and glanced up sharply, surprised yet relieved to hear another human's voice. For days back he had only heard whispers of pain, grins of the shadows and murmurs of the dead. Sweeping his cloak back, he cast another healing spell on himself and rushed forward to the source of the voice.
As he approached the clearing, he saw a man in vampire slayer gear engaged in a furious melee with some orcs. He surveyed the scene and noticed a woman at the side. Most importantly, he saw a cage with humans inside. The lock had been hacked off, probably by the vampire slayer, and the humans inside, weak from days of starvation and fatigue, are trying to leave the cage, shuffling and moving slowly.
A flash of disturbing images once again flitted to Aegion's mind as he recalled the scene of mutilated humans, on the verge of death, moaning and clawing at the air between the bars of the cage made of bone. They had been zombie prisoners for hundreds of years and been severely and frequently tortured and killed, before being raised again. The only thing that Aegion was glad about that quest was that he managed to free the sad souls of these beings.
A clash of metal interrupted his train of thoughts again, and for once Aegion is glad about it. Not one for close combat, he concentrated on supporting the vampire slayer. Muttering the well used latin incantation for Heal, he gestured at the vampire slayer and cast the spell on him.

Aegion turned a corner, and found a long crumbling corridor. His cloak billowed behind him as he quickened his pace, his soft shoes making a muffled padding sound on the moss covered floor. His heart lifted when he spotted an ancient wall.
This wall may look old and crumbling, but it is protected by a strong defensive magic shield that could only be removed by strong deities, as this shield was cast by an ancient god in the first place.
Aegion knocked the wall softly a hollow sound echoed back. Adrenaline starting to course through him, he felt his boredom lifting and he removed his leather glove from his right hand, placing his palm on the wall.
His hand hovered over the wall, fingers brushing the moss. Closing his eyes, he began to feel a pattern in the moss. Slowly, an image took form in his mind and he snapped open his eyes. Delightedly, he began to start work. After all, concentration was his forte.
His fingers traced the faint magic aura from certain types of moss on the wall and he released three pulses of magic on the top, left and right region of the moss. Then, he stepped back and clapped his hands after putting back on his leather gloves.
The three spots where he touched glowed with a pure white light, the natural color of Aegion's magick, and gradually glowed blue. Like in a fancy Connect-the-Dots game, lines of blue began to trace its way across, around, and through the moss, connecting the three spots together. Finally, an intricate design of a triangle was formed, with an exquisite diagram of lines, dots and squares in the center of the triangle.
Aegion furrowed his brows and concentrated on the triangle, letting his mind wander. After a while, his vision naturally snapped to a circle with four squares around it. This must be it. He stepped forward and raised his right hand. Placing his index and middle finger in the middle of that circle, he exerted his magic force on it as the wall crumbles into dust and revealed a darkened stairway spiralling downwards.
Yeah! I've got it!
He stepped forward and the wall formed up behind him again. He could hear the faint shuffling as the moss rearranged itself.
Typical god's imagination...
He descended the steps and entered a large area. Aegion frowned. He studied the surroundings, and realized that he was in the entrance of the cathedral. Heart sinking, he looked around and indeed confirmed his suspicion.
Closing his eyes, he let his mind wander, then something struck him. The atmosphere wasn't right. When he first entered this cathedral, the air was calm and serene. But now... the air is whispering to each other, the shadows moving of their own accord, the serene atmosphere changed to an electrifying charged atmosphere. Could he be... in a different realm... or in a different area that looked the same?
Aegion stepped forward and saw a young guy standing there, seemingly trapped by his own senses. Studying his face, Aegion could tell that there was an expression of fright, but nervous confidence, if that makes any sense.
"Greetings! May I ask your business here?" Aegion called out, wondering if this person was on the same quest he was on or if he wandered here by accident.

Aegion was stunned when the man started to shout for a god to save him.
Xlander... Xlander... sounds familiar. I'll look up on him later.
There are more important things to do. He took a step forward, wanting to help this person, when he suddenly shot over to himself, shouting for him to help. Aegion could hear the urgency in his voice, and the distressed feeling of being lost in a strange area one is not familiar with.
Studying the man's face, Aegion felt a pang of pain in the back of his head and images and memories started to flash one by one, quickly, yet enough for him to recognize the scene. This... confused and desperateness... Aegion put a hand over his eyes and rubbed his temples.
-FLASH-
Aegion entered the Bone Chamber, careful not to step on any of the decaying bones. When he finally reached his destination at the end, he found what he was looking for: Prince Cawlaine, the crown prince of this country. Well, ex-crown prince. Seeing his stir, Aegion was delighted. Maybe I would succeed after all. He focused his magic and let loose a vast holy purification over the whole chamber, eager to heal Prince Cawlaine. To his horror, the prince was not rejuvenated, but instead yell with pain and slumped to the floor. Rushing forward, he studied the prince's face urgently, to find out what was wrong.
Something was wrong. In fact, something was very wrong. The prince is not human any more. He had the basic humanoid shape, but the skin was gone. Instead, lay muscles and veins, exposed for all to see. His ribs were halfway exposed, and the faint silhouette of his beating heart could be seen. The prince opened his eyes and saw him.
Mustering all the strength he got, Prince Cawlaine grabbed Aegion's right leg and whispered desperately, "Help me! I am stranded here, I must go back! I'll give you all the riches you can think of! Anything! Just get me out of here!"
-FLASH-
Aegion summoned his white magic and cast a minor heal over himself to recover from his disorientation.
Pull yourself together, man!
He took a deep breath, then held the man's shoulders, letting his healing magic flow through his hands and into the man.
"Relax, brother! There are no spirits here, do you hear me? There are no spirits here! You are safe, this is your body, your mind, and no one can take it from you. Pull yourself together!", Aegion urged the man, calming him with more of his healing magic.
Aegion could hear the worried voice of a woman nearby, but he did not pay attention to what she was saying. When he was in deep concentration, focused on doing one thing, he tended to block out what was happening around him unintentionally.
He could feel the spirits around him, the whispering intensified and the shadows starting to solidify. He felt like a hypocrite, but what he needed to do is to calm the man before deciding what to do next.

Aegion was surprised to find Brynn so interested in Planeswalking, as most of the people he knew were planeswalkers; they had travelled amongst the planes together ages ago. Yet, he sensed the genuine shine in her eyes as she leaned forward, a key sign of interest in a subject.
He thought for a moment, not exactly how he could express himself. After all, planeswalking is a complex matter. It is not just moving from one realm to another, but it involves treading lightly amongst the intricate design of the universe - a mistake and it could tear the very universal fabric that holds the universe in one big piece.
"I'm not exactly sure how to explain, Lady Ryder, so forgive me if what I say seems incoherent."
He paused, then continued.
"Planeswalking is the act of travelling from a realm, or plane, to another. For example, if I remember correctly, this place where we are sitting now, is the throne room of the aquatic realm of Shyraa. And... that chair over there, should be the throne itself. All realms are interconnected; we are all interdependent in one way or another. Most realms are worlds just like ours, but with different people, culture or settings. Think of it as a... stack of books in a library stacked together. Our realm is but one page of a book. All the realms that are interconnected with our world are pages in the same book. Realms that do not coincide with our world, however, are pages in different books. In order to travel to these other realms, the procedures of doing so is more difficult. These realms are sort of 'grouped' together, firstly in 'books', then 'shelves', 'libraries', and so on. What other type of things that are situated outside is beyond my knowledge. As the great planesmage said, 'The Universe if Infinite'."
He took a deep breath, and said, "Or are you more interested in the methods of planeswalking, Lady Ryder?"

Aegion was glad that someone actually wanted to listen to his ramblings. Although he looked like he was 25, but his experiences are enough to last for several life times. For once, he felt like a really old grandfather imparting one of his life stories to a young granddaughter. Nevertheless, he continued.
"There are hundreds of methods for planeswalking, but normally a planeswalker selects the methods that would enable him to travel between planes as easily and as conveniently as possible. Different planeswalkers have different styles. Take me for example. If i want to travel to planes that are 'closest' to our realm, like pages in the same book, there would normally be Plane Portals scattered throughout this realm, for example, there is just one plane portal in Taras. You would have to know the... design of the realm you want to go. The planes, or realms, are actually sewn together in an intricate tapestry, and in order to travel to a certain plane, you must know the plane's 'tapestry design'. It's a little hard to describe, but I hope you get what I was trying to say."
"Now, for travelling to further realms that are less connected to us, like books in other shelves, there are several methods as well. My most common and favourite one is making use of water. Water is the element, as it is the only known element that all known realms contain. We have not found any realms that do not have water. Hence, water is the element that all realms have in common, so we can use it to 'connect' ourselves to other realms. You see, in order to travel to another realm, you have to have a kind of 'connection' to go there; something in common. Which is where water comes in. The ritual needed is kind of boring, so I won't bore you with the details."

Aegion finally entered the Village of Kellen after days of travelling, temporarily taking shelter under the great horse-inspired architecture of the thick main gateway. For that he was greatful. He uncovered his head, that was previously taking 'shelter' from his leather cloak, and he wore the leather cloak, this time around his body to keep himself warm. He took this opportunity to gather his thoughts and observe what he could see, if he could see anything at all due to the heavy rain and the freezing mist already rising from the ground.
Aegion listened to his own thoughts, a method that only a person with great concentration can do. He block out most external noises and focused on his emotions to gather and consolidate his own thoughts. He was angry yet relieved at the same time. Angry that the rain just had to start when he was only half a day away from Kellen, and relieved that he had not lost his way and finally reached the correct place. He mentally thanked his magical map for showing him the way around. Aegion had went to Kellen to find the Seer Eish Neckturn, otherwise known as "Sky Visage".
The Village of Kellen was empty, which is obvious due to the heavy rain. However, he noticed some faint silhouettes moving about in the rain further up. There are just black shapes, no lights or luminary substances around.
He temporarily covered his head with his leather cloak again, and rushed over, finally reaching the area. He quickly took shelter under the awning of the building. Glancing at the worded tile above the door, he concluded that it must be tavern.
Aegion glanced around and noticed 3 people taking shelter too. However, they don't look like Native Kellen villagers to him.
They are probably adventurers like me.
The most glaring thing that caught his attention, however, was the stern look on a woman's face, glaring at another girl.
This woman's face is rather familiar... I think that I've seen her before at the Deep Cities Mountains while helping Azrael with the prisoners.
He followed the woman's glare and realized that the window of the tavern was broken by some kind of blunt object, and his eyes finally settled on the girl's staff. Knowing that a confrontation was going to happen, he kept his thoughts and words to himself and walked further away from them, still remaining under shelter.
