Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

"Yes they do teach archery there. I find it to be a very practiced skill. Anyone who is a good archer has high respect from me." ~A god? I wish. I am pretty close however. Next thing i know this kid will ask me to bless him or something.~

"No, i am not a god. Many times i am mistaken for one however. I am a half-celestial, or a demi-god. One of my parents was a god, the other was a powerfull lightning mage. I would rather not talk about them very much, since one was killed and the other was disgraced." The thought made Kona feel empty. There was so much he could have learned from his father, and so much he couldve accomplished with his mother. Now his mother was nowhere to be found, and his father was dead. ~You truly are unique and alone.~ he thought to himself, a tear starting at his eye. He quickly wiped it away before it could be noticed.

"I said I was half decent. I didn't nessicarily say I was 'good' so-called." It was true he was better than most people he knew, but most people he knew didn't do any archery. And anyone who did did it for sport. He knew this one girl who occasionally went into the woods of a magical land called "Alberta" and hunted bears with a bow, but that was about it.

"Gee, I-, I'm sorry," Terrance managed to say, when Kona said the things about his parents, not really knowing what to do or say. Terrance was rarely good with social interactions.

"Do not apologize, you have not faulted in any way." Kona said, as the two continued to walk. ~Sigh... Im the last person in my family. I really need to take off sometime and get a wife...~

((I dunno. Not much left for Kona to talk about or do. Got any ideas?))

((Actually I do. See that new spell I bought?))

There was a long, awkward silence for quite a while afterward. Terrance was getting rather bored, what with just walking and all, and finally broke the silence by saying, more to himself than anyone else, "O this is a long walk. I wish I had my Gameboy..."

((Kona doesn't know what a Gameboy is. Ask. Or completely misinterpret the meaning.))

(Very nice.)

~The words that come out this kids mouth get stranger by the second!~ Konahomaru thought to himself, when Terrance said "Gameboy"

"What is a Gameboy may i ask?" said Kona inquisitively. It was always good to learn something new. In Konas book, knowledge is power. "Is it some sort of Jester, or maybe an entertainer?"

((Thanx))

~Right, no electronics,~ thought Terrance. What a world this was.

"What? No, it's not a person. You'd think so though... It's this, well, it's a little electronic thing and you play games on it. Here, I have a picture of it somewhere..." Terrance leafed through his journal, looking for a picture of a Gameboy. After flipping past some fancy swords, some stick people in a park, and a cute widdle doggy, he finaly found a picture of a Gameboy. A Gamboy Advance SP to be precise. He had drawn it one day when he was bored and there was nothing else to do.

"Ah ha! There it is. You see, what you do is... is... is..." Terrance stuttered. He was stuttering because little wisps of colour were jumping off of the page, creating a Major Illusion of a Gameboy Advance SP, which hovered above the book. "That's never happened before..." Terrance managed to say, staring at the illusion.

Kona was not entirly surprised, however the boy was. Konahomaru was much more curious. "Very interesting." he said, looking closer at the floating picture. "What exactly does it do?"

Then Kona remembered that the boy had not known how to do magic previously. "Hey! How did you do that! You have no control over magic! Unless you developed this skill from bieng here. This tells me that eventually, you will become more and more of a visual person. Yes. Thats it! This is the Major Illusion spell! I cannot master it. Well done! Now you were saying this is electronic? I like electricity!" Kona smiled. Electricity was his favorite thing. That and rain. Those are the only two things that pleased.

"It... um, plays games..." Terrance said. ~How did I do that?~ he asked himself. Kona asked the same question. "I... don't know. I just... opened up the book..." Kona talked some more, but Terrance wasn't really paying attention. He did hear Kona say congratulations, and in reply, Terrance said, "Um... thanks..."

"Um... ya. It's electronic. Don't zap it or anything though, you'll overcharge it and it might explode. But then again, it is an illusion..." Terrance reached out and grabed the Illusionary Gameboy and turned it on. The screen flashed to life with that chime and the word 'Gameboy' appeared on the screen.

Terrance closed the journal, and the Illusion dimaterialized into little sparkles that blew away in the wind. "Hey? What happened?"

((Hm. A Gameboy. So much for a fantasy RP...))
