| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Head hung in his hands, Raine chipped at the edge of the wooden table as his half-empty mug of warm ale stared at him lazily. He was nearly alone in the tavern that night...or was it morning? He had lost his one true friend not too long ago. Now no one can ease the pains of life. His mind blurred in sadness. His wolf nudged its nose against his shin from under the table, comforting him. Looking around, seeing only a few dwarves singing with their eyes in a place far, far away. And someone at the bar. He downed the last of his drink, dropped a few coins on the table, and nudged his companion to go. He loosened his sword in the sheath. But he sat still at the table. It is time to leave...but to where? A wave of the hand to the bartender brought another mug. His wolf put its head back into its warm paws and closed its eyes. |

Sitting at the bar, finishing off the last warm drops of ale in the..dusty mug,Garthock looks over to the bartender to order another round.Noticing the bartender heading over to a rather bored and lonely elven man.Bored himself Garthock decides to go over to the mans table and greet him, keeping his sword at the tips of his fingers.Upon approaching the table Garthock introduces himself "Good day to you, allthough a little tipsy,i know a bored face when i see one. What brings you to the Tavern?"Garthock then takes a seat across from the man. |

Raine looked up, but only with his eyes. His gaze went straight to the man's fingers skimming his hilt. He could feel his wolf's hair stand up on guard. But he merely patted the pet's head in assurance. He smiled at the man now sitting down across from him. "Hello...my name's Raine. I usually don't drink here, but circumstances..." He took a long drink from his new mug. A silent burp rose from his throat. "I lost a good friend. Vanished. Now I am alone...well, almost." He reached down and rubbed behind the ear of his companion. "Now I don't know what I will do...travel, most likely. And you can put down your guard...no need to try and show your blade." He waived the bartender over. "Get my friend the biggest mug you got...make it quick." |

Removing his hands from his side, and placing them on the table Garthock reply's to Raine"Well met,My name is Garthock Whisperwind,I am sorry for your loss"Garthock takes a moment of silence knowing the obvious sensitivity of the subject."Sorry for my approach,...so you say you may possibly be traveling eh?I myself was thinking of breaking out of the arena life, and seeing what more this land has to offer"Garthock looks down at the wolf,Which is still eying him uneasily, and begins to speak in his Native Tongue"Shrael theruthaltadore cie, delfrien shiln ashanthrudore"The wolf just perks his ears, and doesnt quit looking Garthock over, but the hair on his back has calmed. Garthock looks back up at Raine"Well what do ya say we travel together?I too m alone and having the two of you would surely make my travels a bit more easy on the mind."Garthock then becons to the bartender"Another mug please Sire" |

Munwithurix was sitting at the edge of the Bar, a cup in hand which was filled with wine, she looked around, but there were not to many people in the Tavern, her, a few dwarves and a couple people at a table. Which it all bored her, there was no one worth fighting tonight. She glared around, having much power and nothing to use it on, unless... A smile appeared on her face as her gaze went to the two men who were sitting at the table. Standing up her plate armor clanked as she headed to a table which was next to the two men. She took a sip of her wine and listened to the two men talk. Having all this power and she can't use it until the right time. |

His wolf was now angry again, and Raine could do nothing to calm him. It stood up on all fours and was growling. Raine just drank some more ale as he stared at the girl who interuppted thier talk. But as one hand was holding the mug, the other was on the hilt of his katana. He looked back and forth between Garthok and the girl who thinks it is just fine to listen to two men talk. |

A smile appeared on her face as she turned to the man who talked to her. "No there isn't, I was just going to sit down here at this table," Even though she was sitting already, "Oh, and your animal should be kept outside." She grinned to herself and sipped at her wine, turning away from the men so she could hear what their reactions would be, which if it worked then she hit a weak point that would lead to their destruction. |

Garthock looked at raine, trying to read the expression on his face.He could tell by the snarls of Raine's companion that sompthing about this woman,..well sompthing was off.Trying to study raines face,to see whether he wouls strike him,or if he would strike the woman,in any case he could tell that the bloodseal tavern would surely carry it's name on this gloomy night. And with the woman to his backside,he was at the disadvantage, should she truely be hostile.Finishing his mug he remained silent, staring into Raine's eyes with the expression on his face saying, you jump i jump, and moves his eyes in the direction of the woman,in a signalling manor....but remains silent. |

Raine read Garthok's eyes like he was speaking to him directly. The wolf paced back and forth behind him, eyes on the woman. Suddenly, out of impulse, he loosened his katana. He swung it out from its scabbard and stuck it into the table, wavering in the air. Their mugs shook from the impact. The dwarves all turned around, staring. Raine stood up, eyes narrowed. "This is Bane. It has seen and devoured more foes than you could ever imagine. If you would like business with it, you can be my guest; it hasn't fed for a while. But if you want to keep your life, I suggest you leave, unless you have something to say." He looked back at Garthock expressionless. His wolf sneezed. |

Munwithurix turned around and just gave a smile at the two men, "I don't wish to leave and you do not run this bar, so that makes it I leave when ever I want," taking one last drink which finished her wine, "And I am not afraid of your pet, there are other creatures out there which would scare me more then a dog." Her dark eyes looked both men over and then the wolf, which really didn't seem to like her, she glared at it for a long moment, it probably knew she wasn't a normal human. Her hand slowly moved to her sword waiting and watching, seeing who will make the first move, the wolf or the men. |

Raine laughed out loud at the girl. "Bane is not the name of my wolf. He has no name. Bane is the name of my sword!" With that he lifted the katana out from the table and held it out in front of him. He turned to Garthock. "Well, it looks as if her bark is worse than her bite. A truly evil person keeping her sword in it's scabbard, against a taunting enemy? She does not seem like a worthy foe for two men and a wolf, even them," He swung the sword in the direction of the dwarves. "I'm sure it would trouble them to aid in the assistance of a half-elf, but I know they would defend their favorite drinking spot." As if on cue, the two dwarves had thier hands on the hilts of thier hammers, playing with them. Raine sheathed his scabbard. He dropped a handful of coins down on his table for the bartender, who was staring at them, hands under the table, probably on some weapon or another. Raine then flicked a coin at the girl. "Maybe another time, eh? You might find out when you are older, that a couple drinks makes the sword shake in even the toughest hand." He motioned for Garthock to leave. |

As Raine drew bane and autographed the table with it,Garthock too drew both of his kitana,And circled the table twords Raine,to stand at his side.Hoping the words of peace he apoke to the wolf would let him know Garthock was a friend. For surely,he didnt want to have his back to this woman, that would be too easy for her. He looked at the woman, who now had her hand on the hilt,of who knows what hellforged blade. Garthock Introduced himself "I am Garthock Whisperwind,Gladiator of the Taras arena, you can check my record if you wish, but over 2000 battles have i fought, and only one five have i lost. You can leave this tavern with your heart in your chest,or on the tip of my blade,The choice is yours milady."But the odds surely favor the testosterone in this place." Gripping his blades tighter,he looked to Raine, who shot Garthock a blank look,But Garthock had seen that look on many of face. This man was ready to Die.Or end a life to protect his own.Garthock liked this. |

For Munwithurix this has testing her patience and she did not like to be insulted. She stood up and instead of drawing her sword her whole body started to change, her skin turned scaley her face started to turn long with teeth and then her body grew larger, and wings started to come from her shoulders and a tail from her back. Before she got larger she took off her armor and sword, leaving her with a plain black tunic on. In moments a large black dragon stood where they had seen the woman. Munwithurix was a little large for the Tavern, she wasn't able to move much, except for her barbed tail and her neck and head where she had acid glands. "Now do you want to make insults at me?" she growled at the man, she turned her head and spat acid at the wall making a hole, showing them what she could do, and they probably didn't know she was a mage either. |

Raine stared dumbfounded at the girl turned dragon. But he did not lose his wits. "Yeah uh...you're really fat, your breath really stinks, and uh....whoa! check that out! Like way over there!" He pointed behind the dragon, stomping his foot. Garthock...let's leave....I don't know how strong she is, but I'm not so sure I really wanna find out. A dwarf sitting at the bar passed out at the sight of the dragon, and the other looked at his fallen friend then down in his mug of ale in disbelief. Raine leapt behind the table, and patted the head of his wolf who was not ready to leave; foam was making its presence upon its lips. "Garthock, let's get out of here! If we at least try to fight, we won't be able to do it in a bar! Usually I prefer death before dishonor, but not at this moment." He ran over to the hole in the wall, still oozing with the acid from the dragon. He cringed. "Man, I wasn't jokin' about that breath thing." He looked at his wolf, peircing his eyes into his companions. Angry, but faithful, the wolf followed him quickly to the wall. Now he turned to Garthock. "You can come with me, or try to fight here. I suggest you follow me; I know these streets well." He took one step out of the wall, but stopped. "But if you do choose to fight, I will be by your side." |
