| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Aerlinn slowly and nervously walked into the tavern. She fingered the hem of her black cloak, well aware of the fact that it didn't hide the fact that she had wings. Her eyes scanned the room, looking for a table in a corner, favorably in the shadows, for her to occupy. Sighing with relief, she took refuge at a table away from the tavern's normal crowd. Looking in her purse, she made sure she had enough for atleast one night. Her thoughts lingered on how she was to make money. She was talented, true, but who would let someone like her sing and dance for the night, especially for money? |

Zero stood up near the bar watching everyone. It wasnt really like Zero to watch for everyone, but mainly for this reason he was bored at the moment with nothing to do. He took a few shots of alcohol and he pictured a drunken angel in his head. The image didnt look right so he stopped drinking for now. He looked quite silly, especially when he could picture himself drunk. Zero stood there, sober. He noticed a lady that walked in. She looked a little nervous but she did seem nice. It was as if she was shy or just didnt want anyone to notice her. She might have been new to Taras. But then again Zero had no clue to who she was. He watched her walk over to the corner of the tavern and sit in the dark by herself so she wouldnt be visible to half the people there. Zero didnt want to offend her or anything but he wondered how she would have reacted if he went over and talked to her. He did as he was intending, and spoke. Hello and how are you? I noticed you looked a little nervous when you walked in. Is everything okay? From the looks of it, it seemed that she was hiding something. But Zero didnt take a seat, instead he stood there, waiting to see if he was really welcomed or not. |

Aerlinn was startled by the voice of the stranger and her first reaction was to run. Instead of running, she looked up at him. She blinked her gray eyes as she looked him over. He wasn't all human, so she was safe. Her lips parted into a smile, "Hello to you too. I'm fine, just tired from my journey." She motioned for him to sit across from her, "Have a seat if you like." Her hands pulled her cloak around her shoulders, making sure her wings were still hidden from site. "Everything is alright I guess you could say." Aerlinn looked around the tavern. |

Zero took a seat and looked at her as she spoke. Journeys did take a lot out of you and especially make you want to just collapse on a comfy bed. It has been a while since the last time he had journeyed himself. Zero was just about to call out the bartender for another shot of alcohol but then remembered what he was imagining earlier. Zero rested his elbow on the wooden table and ran his hand across his hair. His wings were still but moved around a bit. But Zero wondered where she had been traveling from. He would soon find that out if she told him though. She seemed afraid of Zero for some reason but really, there wasnt anything to be afraid of. Are you sure you're alright? Where did you travel from anyways? By the looks of it she did look tired and Zero thought of something that might have helped her out. |

Aerlinn watched him with curiousity as he sat down. He was human and angel it seemed. Did he not know that she was pretty much a hunted creature? Or maybe it was just a band of men that have decided that her people were a prize. She sensed no need to fear this man, and since it getting a bit hot, she undid her cloak and set it next to her. Her feathers caught the glow of the lights. Nodding, "I'm sure. As for where I came from, it was a small village days from here. Tucked away between a massive forest and mountains." Pointing to her wings, "You know what I am right?" Aerlinn's gray eyes stared at him. |

Zero watched her as she undid her cloak. And when she did, Zero's eyes opened widley! Her wings were beautiful, Zero rarley saw this though. Out of nowhere Zero spoke out. Your wings are beautiful! Zero then thought for a moment, and he couldnt believe what he just said. First of all he forgot to introduce himself to her. And second of all it might have been a little wierd to speak to her like that since he just met her. Ooops! Im sorry! I think we got carried to far off and I forgot an introduction between us. May I know your name? Zero wanted to answer her question but it would only be proper if he got an introduction. He really didnt know anything about her, only that he went up to her because she did seem a little nervous. |

Aerlinn blushed a deep red, which did look rather odd on her pale skin. "Thank you." A few heads turned towards her, but none lingered or showed any true interest. Making a small bow, "I am Aerlinn. Aerlinn Rivers to be exact. And your name is?" Her head tilted, this boy was rather nice, coming up to a complete and total stranger. |

Zero's face gave off a smile but barley. But it was the truth. She did have beautiful wings and Zero himself hadnt seen any like that in quite a long time. Zero looked at Aerlinn and his smile grew a little more. He wanted to laugh when he noticed her face blushed. Instead he chuckled. Zero then looked around as he was having a good time with the person he just met. The reason for her blushing might have been the reason why a few were looking at her. Zero turned to look back at Aerlinn and answered her questions now. Your welcome....heh heh... Well my name is Zero but please, I prefer Klape. Though not very many people call me that but its sort of a name I havent spoken of yet. Its something I was called way back when...like a kid. But its been a while. Anyway, Its nice to meet you Aerlinn! Zero answered more of her questions just as soon as he could remember all of them. Your an angel right? But Im one...well, only half. More like half human-half angel. But yes traveling that far can get you real tired. And I think I might know where you might have came from but I can be wrong. Zero felt as if he talked way too much. He paused and waited on her |

Aerlinn's grin continued to tug at the corners of her lips. "Well Klape, it's nice to meet you." She shook her head at his guess, her earrings giving off a soft tinkling as she did. "I'm sorry to say that I am no angel. I am an elf. An elf of the Araviel race to be exact." Leaning closer, she pressed her finger to her lips. "But that is to be a secret, but I feel that I can trust you. So I guess if anyone asks, I am an angel until I can trust them." Getting the bartender's attention, she asked for a drink. "So Klape, tell me about yourself. Your childhood, where you're from, talents, anything that would amuse the both of us." |

Zero listened to her and watched her come up to him with her finger placed against her lips. He heard the secret but why would she want to hide herself from the world. Besides there was lots of great things out there. But however, that was her problem if this was the case. Zero answered her again and the conversation was an intresting one. It was nice getting to know someone new. Well your secret is safe with me if thats the case. Zero smiled and told her more about himself and other kinds of things she asked to know. Well back in my childhood days I did get a dragon...a baby dragon! It was pretty neat. But as I got older I left my place and my dragon. I journeyed across the world and saw many different cool places. But recently I went back to my place and found that my dragon was pretty big. I didnt realize that when I first left. Zero didnt want to get carried away talking about his companion the whole conversation. He moved on to a different subject but a one that explained more about himself. Im from some place...a little far from here, but not as far as it seems when you go back and forth, back and forth. And talents, I guess I could say Im good with blades and magic. Im a weapons master at the Academy of Arms. I am also a pyro. My main element would be fire of course! And I guess thats about it. Zero stopped for a moment and heard himself speak. He didnt really want to give out the name of the place he lived in. But there was no reason behind that. Just didnt really care much. What about you? Oh and Sorry I mistaked you for an angel if thats what you thought. Zero stopped talking and let her speak now. |

Aerlinn sat in interest, listening to Klape chatter on. It was wonderful to have someone to talk to again. The question about herself brought her back to the reality of life. "Me? Well, I erm. There is not much to tell. I lived in a village with others like myself. One night while we were having a gathering, a band of men came and attacked us. Many were killed and the rest were captures." She extended a wing, "If it weren't for the fact that these are nearly like glass, I would not be here. You see, I was dancing and singing when we were attack. I took to the sky where my dark robes and wings blended me with the night sky." She wiped a stray tear from her cheek. "Enough about that. My skills are most in healing and I perform quite well. My elements are light and fire of course. There is such purity in the burning of a flame." Aerlinn let a giggle escape from her lips, it's musical sound filling their corner of the tavern. "Fire is saddly to say my second, but I love it none the less." |

Zero listened to her part and saw a tear roll down her cheek. He pretty much understood how she felt. He too went through some hard times and sometimes was hard to forget about those things. Well Im sorry to hear that. I hope this doesnt get to you easily and get real depressed. But hey, I'll stick with you for a while. But your life does seem intresting. Zero smiled hoping this would have made her feel better and gave her a more positive attitude towards things. Fire is what Im best at and I love it alot. Zero could remember the first time he walked in Aces class-room eager to learn fire and especially the one time where he assumed he broke in the library just to read some lousy book on the element. But it was for a certain occassion. So he couldnt blame him. Zero was getting a little tired from his big day he had before he ran into Aerlinn. Well you seem pretty tired and I feel the same way. I think I'll get myself a room here in a minute at the inn. Oh and your welcomed over to my room if you want to rest. I wont have a problem with that. Zero offered her a place to stay at for the night and if she declined, Zero understood and nothing really offended him in anyway. But if she accepted that was great. You may come over if you want. Im not forcing you or anything. But your welcomed over anytime. Zero smiled at her and was ready to get up and get his room. |

Aerlinn looked at him quizedly, "You mean I can bunk with you for the night?" Her gray eyes blinked a few times too. The image of her nearly empty purse filled her mind. "If you don't mind, I could really use the help. I'll even pay for half." Her smile lit up her face, hoping she heard right. |

Klape looked at her and if she thought she was going to pay for half then she was wrong. It was all on him by the way. NO! No need to pay for anything..Its all on me! But yes, thats what Im trying to say. You may come over if you'd like. Zero smiled and got up as he waited for her. He began to walk over to lobby and ask the shop keeper for some keys to a room. Klape looked back and made sure she followed or at least knew where he was at. Zero got the keys and told the man that only two were to be in the room. Okay, c'mon! Got the room. Zero began to walk around in the halls to get to his room. When he got there he opened the door and saw a nice and tidy room for the two. Well this is it! Make yourself comfortable. Zero looked at Aerlinn and smiled at her. For now he hung his sheaths on a chair and threw his cloak on his side of the bed. Well, I may be tired but I have to do some things first. But you may sleep on the bed. I'll be watching over and keep busy at the same time...or you can do whatever you feel like. Zero smiled as he began to sit on a different chair. |

Aerlinn gave Klape a good stare, not pleased at all for being told she couldn't help pay. She followed him to the desk, then to the room. She was greatful for the help he was giving her, it was slowly melting her hearts towards humans. Streching her wings, "Thank you so much Klape. You have no idea how greatful I am towards you." Aerlinn smiled as she sat on the edge of the bed and proceeded to take off her boots. Looking up at him, she tried to figure out why he was helping a complete stranger. Her hands fidgetted, so she put them to work folding her cloak. "Klape? Um, why? Why are you so helpful? Most people would probably cast me out. I guess I'm just trying to understand." Aerlinn hid her emmbarassment by letting her long black hair fall over her face as she bent to examine a small rip at the bottom of her dress. |
