| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

She looked rather out of place here, Pheonix did. Of course, considering Pheonix ... she looks out of place everywhere. Not that she really cared though, as such things didn't matter to her. She'd just finished working, for the night. Having spent most the night hunting, she'd just brought 'her prey' here, to the tavern. The meat she'd brought, just deer and a bit of rabbit, would be used in the meals served here. Not that Pheonix would eat anything here, as she didn't trust the place. After getting her pay, Pheonix claimed herself a table at the far corner of the tavern. Where she could have the wall to her back and no one could sneak up behind her. This wasn't the bet of places to be, and Pheonix knew that. However, she could more than able take care of herself, so she wasn't worried about that. Besides, she had the wolf with her. Genesis was always there, following along side her. He was settling himself to sleep, under the table Pheonix sat at. A server arrived at her table, asking her what she wanted to drink. Pheonix ordered, whatever. something she didn't remember the name. She'd be sure not to get drunk here, as she always got into trouble when she did so. And this wasn't a good place for that. |

Ember's eyes scanned across the dark tavern, feeling as though she may have been a bit overdressed for such a place. She was wearing one of her finer dresses, her hair left down, cascading to about the middle of her bare back. Those mysterious amber eyes were searching for a bit of something though Ember wasn't quite sure what it was at the moment. Trouble perhaps... It was the only guess she had and a wide grin slowly formed across her lips as she entered the tavern. She also guessed that she would most likely be sized up by the men that frequented the bar and told herself to be slightly more careful than she normally would be. This wasn't the time for her to get into a scuffle, she still wasn't prepared for a fight or brawl just yet as her studies in the magic were just beginning. But the woman was thirsty and she was long overdue for a bit of rest. Noticing another woman sitting with her back to the wall across the room, Ember calmed only a bit. Can't be too much trouble in these parts if she sits alone. I'd have to guess it's either slow tonight or there just aren't too many bad men roaming around these parts. She knew the second was a lie even as she boosted herself up onto a stool, facing the bar with her back to the door. Raising a small hand toward the bartender, she ordered a hard drink. |

Pheonix didn't notice the other at all, because, after her drink had arrived and her attentions drawn from that. She was busy tending to a rather new injury she had recieved from an Umbra she'd hunted. The large feline managed to catch Pheonix's leg in its claws, and the injury was too deep for the minor heal spell that Pheonix knew to even fix. She was taking care of the injury through non-magical means though. It must have been an odd sight, seeing the girl unwrap a bloodied bandage from her right calf. After cleaning the wound with a bit of water Pheonix wrapped it with a clean cloth and roleld her pant's leg down over it. Stretching the hurt leg across to a chair at the other end of her table, Phoenix reached for her drink. Under the table, her wolf companion had shifted his position. Setting his muzzle on Pheonix's leg and looking up at her. Pheonix laughed, and with her free hand she scratched the wolf behind the ears. "What's up, Genesis?" |

"Now that is going to leave one hell of a mark on you dear." Forcing up a friendly smile, Ember raised her drink toward the woman at the table with the wolf. She had been watching her only long enough to see her getting rid of of the bloodied wrap after finishing with the cleaning. The woman didn't appear to be too talkative, keeping to herself and her companion, not too surprising for where they were. Still Ember searched for a bit of excitement on this dull night, the crowd inside the Bloodseal Tavern was nothing to brag about. |

Pheonix flixked an ear at the voice, and glanced up. The wolf at her side didn't move, content as he was just sitting here with his owner. Pheonix laughed slightly at the comment. "Heh. Yeah." Pheonix isn't that good with words, though once someone gets her to talking there's little chance of getting her to stop. Pheonix is actually pretty social, though not everyone likes to talk with her. People who judge by appearances anyways. Pheonix took a drink, and set the glass on the table. Stretching somewhat, she gave a shrug. "But I got off pretty easy considering what I was fighting." She smiled slightly, revealing one wolfish fang. |

"And what might that have been? I hope you say it lost by the way, don't want whatever it was coming back after ya? Would ya?" For the time being, Ember found that it was rather easy to talk to the woman across the tavern, though it was still awkward for her to be so friendly with someone she had just met only moments ago. Taking a slow drink from the beaten up mug the bartender had given her, Ember swiveled on her stool so that she could better view the woman she was talking to. From where she was, the wound looked bad but she couldn't quite tell what it might have been from. Ember looked unmoved by the wolfish fang, shrugging it off as one off as a sign of one of the races she hadn't yet met up with found in Imythess. She had indeed seen stranger things, like the man at the lake with the dark wings. Ember could only imagine what other races were out there running about the lands. Brushing back her long, fiery out-lined, ebony hair, she leaned back against the bar casually continuing to sip from the mug which she held securely in her hand. For a moment her eyes wandered through the otherwise still room, wondering if indeed there may be trouble lurking about after all. Silence before the storm.. |

"An umbra. A big one. Nearly took my head off." Pheonix laughed at the next comment, and gave a quick nod. "Yup. It lost. Otherwise I probably wouldn't be here. Gen either." The wolf at her side flicked an ear at the mention of his name. Pheonix glanced down at him, then back to the woman she was speaking to. "The wolf here is Gen ... genesis. i'm Pheonix." |

"Pleasure." Ember chuckled underneath her breath, raising another eyebrow toward the woman now, finding it slightly odd that she would name a wolf. She supposed that it wasn't all that uncommon, but still it was interesting to her that anyone would. Sighing loudly, obviously bored with the so far uneventful evening, she took a long slow drink from her mug, only to find that her drink was now finished. Her nose scrunched up with disappointment, a frown overtaking her friendly smile as she stared down at the mug's emptiness. Well I suppose that is that.. Stealing one more glance about the bloodseal tavern, she prayed that something exciting would happen. A few moments later, her praying stopped as two men near the entrance began to fight. Shouting at each other for a minute before the kicking and punching started again. Tables were overturned and chairs toppled over as they instinctively found their way out the door and into the night. Cheers and whistles from the few patrons of the tavern began to stir as a small crowd followed the brawling men out into the street. "Yes, yes.." She nodded her head slowly. "The name is Ember.." Sounding a bit distracted, she turned her gaze away from Pheonix. Ember's amber eyes perked with excitement, watching the scene as it unfolded before her. The orange, fiery glow that surrounded her body pulsed into hot shades as she slid from her stool, no longer seeming interested in the woman or the wolf, her eyes fixed on finding the brawl which was now surrounded. Lifting herself up off the ground, standing upon her tiptoes, Ember tried to see the fight from where she stood. Dissatisfied with her view, she slowly crept closer to the door in hopes of catching a glimpse of the two men outside. |
