Mosvani walked through the dark woods with a heavy pack strapped to his back. The trees around him looked vaguely menacing, barks twisted and leaves blackened. All long the tree tops he could see spider webs of various sizes and designs, adding to the eeriness of the place. This close to the swamp the air was extremely humid and made the heat feel worse. He kneeled by a tree then, bracing himself as he opened his pack and a horrible stench filled the air. To distract himself from the smell he thought over the case details and the strangeness of it. The contractor had used a proxy to contact Mosvani and negotiate the contract. This itself was not unusual, and happened a lot on some of the more illegal of bounties. They wanted a Wererat by the name of Vernon to be subdued and brought to the Crystal Caves, where they would take over and he would be payed. This also was not unusual. He continued walking, uneasy about this case. He would not be able to fly, as the spiderwebs would trap him. If he wasn't finished off by Vernon then, the spiders most certainly would. He was certain that judging by the size of some of the webs, that their were some large enough to eat a full grown man. He wanted to avoid that if possible. He came into another tree then, and he knelt down and opened his pack again. They had gone over what they knew about Vernon. He was some sort of Wererat, about 6 feet tall with black fur and green eyes. They knew he frequented the Marsh's here, and would provide no detail as to what he was wanted for. This wasn't unusual either, altho it was the first wererat he had ever heard of. The challenge could prove fun. He finished planting it, and walked on again, slowly making a wide circle. The smell was bad, but he was beginning to get used to it. He might be able to use the trees to his advantage, but he wasn't sure he wanted to be too close to them when in the middle of a fight. That was all he needed, to hide behind a tree and get bitten by a spider with most likely dangerous results. He came to another tree then, and knelt down. He the pack again and this time didn't feel the bile in the back of his throat. They had also warned him that the Rat had a truly horrible stench. While it could be used to unmistakably identify him it could also be used as a weapon by overwhelming the opponent. Another ability they knew he had was he had a very keen sense of smell and could often track beings with it. Mosvani was slightly weary at this, as he had no way to counter the smell or his sense of smell. His black pant legs were brown in the front now from kneeling in the dirt. He was sweating slightly from the heat, making his loose black shirt stick to his back. His pack was lighter now, having completed almost a full circle. He came to the last tree then, and opened his pack for the last time. The smell no longer affected him. Inside he pulled out a mostly decayed corpse of dog and placed it by the tree. Since the Rat had such a good sense of smell, he hoped it would be overwhelmed by the amount of decaying corpses he had placed in the area. He hoped it would work. Finally after describing the case, he had accepted. They assured him that if he came to a certain area of the Spiderhaunt Woods off the Hauntwood Marsh that he would find him. They gave no explanation for why this would be so, only assured that he would be their. This had made him uneasy. He layed the pack down then, and walked back toward the way he had came. He was searching for the rat now, hoping he would find him. He was weary of it all, because it felt too much like a trap. He had one desperate means of escape that he would used if it came to it, but he prayed he wouldn't. He reached about center of the circle of corpses he had planted then, and their he waited. He emptied his mind of all thoughts, concentrating on all the sounds and smells he could hoping he'd be able to catch sign of Vernon or whatever would be coming. Even to his nose, he could smell the stench of rot around him vaguely, unable to focus on a source for it. |

Vernon walked slowly into spiderhaunt woods. While it was near the marsh, Vernon held no love for the place. Vernon would have prefered to mask his stench, but did not want to deal with the spiders that were too stupid to not know to leave him alone. Vernon's preference was explained by the reason he was here. He was here to capture a half-feind by the name of Mosvani. Vernon would not be ppaid for returning him dead but the pay would be drasticaly less than if he were alive. In short it was not worth a trip to Spiderhaunt woods, to return with a dead half-feind. Shortly after entering the woods, Vernon began to smell something that could please only few noses beyond his own, decayed flesh. As Vernon walked further, he thought it was no mere coincedence that the smell was coming from where he was headed. It was not one corpse he smelled but several and not all of the same type. Vernon doubted some fool wandered in to the forest with even more foolish woodland creatures, stupid enough to follow him. Perhaps Mosvani was a necromancer of some sort. A half-feind necromancer was a feasible idea. It was the only explination Vernon could conjure up. He was not told of Mosvani's skills nor his proffession. Vernon was content enough with the information he was given. He figured Mosvani was some slippery informant. It would explain why he would be paid for the man's death and paid well for his capture. Vernon's loaded crossbow was in hand as he walked passing large empty webs. The inhabitants knew better than to stick around when the Vernon's stench assulted their senses. Vernon was well prepared for a confrontation if one were to arise. He had his Poisoned Blade in it's sheath on his back and his three shadow dagger set at his waist. Two to the left and one to the right. His backpack was slung on one shouler and no longer held it's wide variety of rotted foods, but rope to bind the half-feind and cloth to gag him if Vernon found his mouth untolerable. The heat was the last thing on Vernon's mind. He was used the the humidity of the marsh. As Vernon closed upon the origin of the smell and the place where he was told he would find Mosvani, he found it curious that the necromancers undead had not moved at all. Perhaps his employers knew the mage was waiting on something as would be expected. It would be the best time to strike, unless of course he was waiting on another being who would be coming and likely willing to defend the mage. Vernon licked the corners of his mouth. The undead and their master would be visible shortly. Vernon definately take some time to snack on Mosvani's minions after having the necromancer bound tighly. Vernon's train of thougt shifted track when Mosvani and the dead bodies came into veiw. They were not undead at all or at least the lifeless bodies did not look it. "You must be Mosvani. My suggetsion is that you play dead. It's easy for both of us that way, though I must admit the easy way isn't always fun," Vernon greeted Mosvani with a sinster grin as he entered the ring of corpses. Vernon let his bag fall off his shouder at the edge of the circle still and paused afterward aiming his crossbow at Mosvani. He was sure that matters would not be handled so simply. |

He could smell the rat before he could see him. At first he was unable to distinguish it from the surrounding decay, but before long it overpowered even that and was steadily getting worse. By the time the rat came into view, it was all he could smell anymore. The decaying animals he had placed had helped build up some tolerance to the smell however, but he knew if he was forced to smell it for too long he would get sick from the stench. They would have to be fast then. The rat stopped just outside the circle of corpses he had placed, and took off his pack before taking a moment to aim a crossbow at Mosvani. He could see the hilt of a sword on the rat's back, and what looked to be a couple of daggers on his waste. This rat was well armed. Mosvani had a couple extra weapons hidden about his person as well, however he hoped it wouldn't come to using them. He was certain the crossbow would prove to be the least of his troubles, even if it gave him the advantage at the start of the fight. He'd have to find a way to make him ditch the bow or make it useless. He preferred useless. The rat spoke then, "You must be Mosvani. My suggestion is that you play dead. It's easy for both of us that way, though I must admit the easy way isn't always fun." and took a couple steps forward with a sinister look on his face. So, he was expected was he? That didn't completely confirm his suspicions that this was a trap, but it just about did. Another possibility was it was a setup, to either weaken both of them or to determine who was better for whatever reasons. He'd have to find out why somehow during the fight. He responded to the rat then, eyes slightly tinted red. "You may call me Streea, rat. Judging by your appearance, and oh so pleasant smell, you must be Vernon. I'm sorry to say I reject your offer, however in the spirit of fair play, I offer you the same. You are worth more to me alive then dead, and I must say if this is how you smell alive I'd rather not be around when you die." He took a slight bow then and kept eye contact the whole time, using it to disguise the flicking of his wrist which brought one of his elvish daggers to his hand. On his way up, he quickly threw the dagger toward Vernon and muttered Nulla Hisie under his breath, creating a thick mist in the area that easily covered the circle they were in, and 20 feet beyond it. It would not last but 5 minutes, and he would need another 10 to be able to cast that spell again. Not wasting a moment, he dashed to his left behind the nearest tree. While he had been waiting, he had memorized the placement of trees in and around the circle for this very purpose. He pulled out his shadow daggers then, which gave a short but slight hum in anticipation of feeding as they were pulled. Screw fair play. |

Vernon found it odd that the half-feind knew his name, but quickly caught on. It was Vernon that the man was waiting for. This was a setup or perhaps there was a leak information. Vernon nearly laughed at Mosvani's reference to fair play. Surely it was nothing but a spirit in their business, dead since it's beginnings. The entire event itself was proof enough. Vernon, however; did not enjoy the assassin's comment on his death. He ensure that Mosvani paid good and well for it. Vernon wondered at the feind's bow, but was not surprise to see it evolve into an attack. Vernon quickly leaned to the left as the elven dagger rushed towards him. The dagger came by too close for Vernon's comfort. He wasn't didn't seem to be dealing with an amateur. The Fog that came moments after the dagger reminded vernon too much of his first setup. A tango with one whom he later found to be a goddess. Vernon killed his employer slowly. He tied up the fool and held him in anabonded house on the edge of the marsh. He offered the man only rotten food too eat, which the man refused to eat, at least until he began to starve. After that it was not long before the man became as diseased as the meat and ultimately met his death. Vernon fine sense of hearing picked up footsteps headed to his right, but they were not coming at him as he would have suspected. "I see one is never too old for Hide-n-seek. My favorite game ofcourse. I never lose," Vernon snickered. Vernon would handle then mist in the same manner as the mist of the goddess. Vernon opened his mouth and began to emit supersonic waves where Mosvani was headed. there was nothing but trees too thick to be him. He was likely hiding behind one. Vernon stepped lightly as he walked towards where Mosvani once stood. The use of echolocation did not seem to prove as useful as his fight with the goddess, but Vernon knew he'd be a fool to go on hearing alone. He certainly could not sniff him out, not with the more pleasant aroma of death present. And the mist made it so Vernon could hardly see the tip of his crossbow. Vernon held his Crossbow in his right and his left hand drew a shadow dagger. Just as Vernon began to tired of his tedious method, he found a humanoid form purtruding from the side of a tree. A satisfied grin overtook his face as he fire the bolt. There was not much distance between them though he probably had enough time to hide behind the tree and get out of the way. Vernon's crossbow now had little use. He'd have to got back to his back to reload, but it would be just plain better to use his slingshot. It would certainly be a surprise for Mosvani. |

Mosvani stood behind the tree, trying to figure out where the rat had gone. He knew he wouldn't of stood still, and the fact he hadn't been attacked yet seemed to show that using the corpses had worked. He would have to strike fast, catch him slightly off guard if he still had the crossbow out and making it harder for him to defend. He thought briefly about the whole situation. Had it been a setup, or was this some kind of test? He wasn't sure, but he was certain that once he was out of this mess he would find out who had really been behind the contract, and make them die a slow and painful death. He'd start by killing their spirit, then he'd kill the body for a complete death. Yes, it would indeed be very satisfying. He focused all his attention on his hearing then, trying to pin point where the rat may have moved too so he could attack. Instinct alone had him reacting when he heard the sound of the crossbow firing. He spun to his right, coming around the tree, and charged forward to where the sound had come from. A thunk sound could be heard as a bolt lodged into a tree. He was certain that if he had not moved, it would have been him the bolt was lodged in now. The mist was thick, and he was unable to see what was in front of him. However, the shot meant he must still have his crossbow out making him an slightly easier target for attack. Now would be Mosvani's biggest chance to end the fight quickly, before the horrible stench could overpower his senses and make him sick. The smell was indeed getting worse. He could barely see his feet in front of him as he ran, hunched slightly over in preparation for a low attack. Suddenly Vernon popped into view, crossbow in one hand and a dagger that looked remarkably similar to his. He went into a short spin attack then, the dagger in his right hand aimed at the rats own dagger, and his left dagger would come around to strike at the rats thigh. All Mosvani needed was a scratch, and then in 15 minutes the fight was over one way or another. |

Vernon was not satsified with the sounds he heard after he fired the crossbow. There was not the sound of the bolt peircing through flesh followed by a yell of pain, but rather the loud dull thud as it entered the trunk of the tree instead. Then there was the alarming sound of feet pattering swiftly against the ground. Vernon knew now he should have expected this. Why would Mosvani allow Vernon to reload his crossbow and try again if the first hit was likely too close for comfort. Vernon used his echolocation to see how Mosvani was coming at him, as Vernon readied to defend himself. Mosvani was coming low as vernon expected. A low attack was on the way. Vernon did not have enough time to drop the crossbow and rearm himself with a dagger so Vernon decided it was best to hang on to the crossbow for a bit. He still use it to defend himself. He doubted he would be able to reload it at all so it would be the best way to actually get a use out of it. It was not long before Mosvani came into view with two shadow daggers in each hand. It appeared the daggers were the best friend of any assassin save perhaps when in the hands of another. Vernon quickly moved his crossbow to defend his thigh. A loud twang could be heard as Mosvani's blade sliced through the string before sticking into the wooden part of the elven crossbow. Vernon's dagger clashed with Mosvani's though not likely as Mosvani had intended. There was not enough for either of them to disarm the other's firm grip at least not at the angles of their attacks. "You're going to end up paying for that one, kid," Vernon growled, though the elven crossbow wasn't all that expensive and replacing the string would be cheap and easy and replacing the crossbow entirely was not out of the bounds of Vernon's funds. Vernon quickly dropped his crossbow and quickly pulled off a dagger conveniently placed at his side. |

Vernon had used the crossbow to defend against the attack aimed for his thigh and deflected his other attack with his dagger. The blade of his dagger had lodged itself into the wooden part of the crossbow as well. The rat spoke then, saying "You're going to end up paying for that one, kid," afterwords he dropped the crossbow and Mosvani took the chance to jump back a bit out of reach. Quickly he freed his blade as Vernon drew another dagger that he recognized as a Shadow Dagger as well. The rat must have a way he can see him through the fog. That and his superb reflexes had put Mosvani at a big disadvantage that was made somewhat less by getting rid of his range attack. Perhaps Mosvani would thank his would be employer before eventually killing him, as this fight was proving to be a real challenge. People needed fights like these to stay sharp. With a slight smile, he replied to Vernon. "I'll be sure to give you a bath in payment once our business is finished here and I'm on my way to collect the bounty. Of course, that leaves a few questions. Was I setup, or is this being used as a test to prove which of us is better? And the more important question. Is their enough soap and water in the world to actually clean you?" His grin widened into a full smile then as he put himself into a defensive stance. He would let Vernon have this move. He looked at the rat's daggers again, so similar to his own. He would be a fool to assume that they didn't have the same life stealing powers as his own daggers did. He knew that if he even received a scratch that the blade would make him lethargic and begin sucking his life force out. His only chance then would either be to give up and leave himself at the mercy of the rat or try to wrestle the dagger away. If it came to it, he sincerely doubted he'd have the strength left to wrestle it away. His smile widened. This was truly a dangerous dance he had gotten himself into. |

(Four long posts in two days in one topic, a new personal record. )Mosvani jumped a good ways away from Vernon. This was good for Vernon, more time to think. Vernon could have took advantage of Mosvani's dagger lodged in the crossbow, but that would have lead to a brawl Vernon did not want to be caught up in. He'd be assured to take some wounds in the process of defeating Mosvani and Vernon wanted to minimize those. Vernon's venomous green eyes eyes turned their attention to Mosvani's wings. He could exploit the lovely targets. "You will soon regret your insults, though to me some are compliments. I am sure I know as much as you and by the look of things you may even been told more than myself. A shame you can not see it is I who will be collecting the bounty. As for this being a setup or a test, does it really matter. Some one is having their good laugh at this, but even you were to have your way in this fight he won't be laughing for long. To answer you more important question: No, I am sure there isn't," Vernon smiled as he planned what he would do next. He preffered the to go offensive when he knew there was little resitence, but that certainly wasn't the case now. "I think it is your turn to do the seeking," Vernon smiled as turned around and sprinted in the oppsite direction. used his echolocation to makes sure he didn't supidly run into a tree in the middle of his creative idea. Vernon lepted in the air as he neared a tree. His hands swiftly replaced the daggers at his side before his claws griped into the bark of the tree. Rapidly he rushed up the tree gaining a good bit of height, turning around the tree swiftly when a branch was in his path, but keeping in mind where Movani was. Vernon stoped seeing the faint image of a large web out of the corner of his eye. Vernon rested on a thick brach behind the web. It was in the direct path of Mosvani's flight. Mosvani would fly into it if he flew too fast. Vernon would have an easy shot if Mosvani flew too slow. Either way Mosvani would be and easy target. Vernon crouched low and pulled out his his slingshot and listened for wings to lift off into the air or at least the sound of the fool attempting to climb up the tree after him. |

(Wtg on the record. And uh, thanks I think. I guess I can take that as a compliment? :P) Mosvani watched Vernon carefully, looking for any sign of attack. The rat didn't appear to be in any rush to resume the combat, instead seemed to be trying to come up with a plan of attack. He couldn't see him completely from here, the mist had dulled his sight of him so that he could only make out his form but not see any real details. The rat spoke then, and Mosvani listened while watching intently to make sure he wasn't using the words to disguise an attack. He payed particular attention when the rat spoke of the bounty, and it seemed like he was telling the truth. He wasn't sure what to make of it all, as this left the possibility that they were both being setup or it truly was a test. He was most displeased at the thought, and after he had defeated the rat he would be finding out who had orchestrated this event. The rat called out then, "I think it is your turn to do the seeking," Vernon turned and ran then, quickly engulfed in the mist. Soon afterwords he heard the sounds of something scaling a tree, and he was certain it was the rat. Judging by the quickness of him running and scaling the tree, it made Mosvani's assumption that the rat had a way to see in the mist a certainty. That also meant the rat would see him coming if he found the correct tree and climbed. He couldn't fly because he would certainly end up caught in the web or left wide open for the rat's attack. That left him with one option, and it was the one option he had wanted to avoid from the start. This would force a quick fight, or force them to flee. He sighed then, the atrocity he was about to commit was appalling to him but he could see no other way. He turned to his left, and walked slowly to make sure he didn't run head first into a tree. He trusted his memory, but it was still better to err on the side of caution. Within a few steps he came to a tree and knew his memory was correct, and that it wouldn't take long for the plan to come into effect. He must be crazy for this indeed! He drained himself of then, this was no time for that. Relying on his years of Assassination training to get him through this, he yelled out to Vernon, "I think we shall cut the games short Vernon. We must end this quickly and leave, or I am afraid we might not leave at all." Then, with a determined look on his face, he sheathed his right dagger and muttered the words Iqua Rill under his breath. A strong flame shot forth from his right index finger. It flickered slightly in the open air, and caused the mist immediately surrounding it to glow a dull orange. He held it to the tree, and shortly after the wood caught fire. The tree burst into flame quickly, the fire having reached the leaves above it and the spider webs. He walked to his right then, continuing to walk slowly and lit another tree on fire. It too was ablaze quickly. He put out the flame on his finger then, and unsheathed his dagger. Turning right once again and hurriedly walked a few feet and yelled again. "I trust by now you can smell whats happening even with all the decayed meat in the area. It looks like it's do or die Rat. The fire will spread very quickly, so we have very little time for games. A tree top is not a very good place to be at the moment either. So tell me, do we finish this now, or would you prefer to find our respective employers and deal with them accordingly?" The mist was lessoning now and had completely disappeared in patches over the affected area. It probably didn't have a minute left before it was gone completely, and replaced by the black smoke of burning wood. To him, what he had just done was a truly great crime. One he would pay for a long time to come. Another tree caught fire, and sparks were flying all over the place. He was ready for Vernon tho, and ignored the fire as safely as possible. He would finish this, one way or the other. (This is the desperate method of escape I mentioned in the first post, just not technically being used to escape as the situation has changed) |

(Wtg? what's that?) Vernon raised an eyebrow at Mosvani's words. How on earth could he manage to cut this game shortly and thin the line that both of their lives balanced upon? Vernon got his answer as soon as he saw an orange glow in the distance. The crackling of fire was soon heard, confirming what the glow was. "How the hell can he even get a fire started in this mist?" Vernon whispered to himself. The orange glow seemed to be growing and the mist was dissipating. The flamable spider webs must have been helping the fire do well to do well in overcoming the moist air. "It is a shame you are not one for playing games. Very well back to buisness then," Vernon growled angrily as he slowly desceded jumpiing from branch to branch on his way down. He was not about to wear himself out further by racing down the tree in the same fashion as he had climbed. He did not like this at all. He did not want to leave spiderhaunt woods empty-handed, but he was not going to put his life on the line for a nice bit of gold and a good bit of fun. "How does it feel to know that you have doomed yourself if you were too hold any victory? The only way you can make it out of here alive is to lose. While I didn't and still don't think you have a chance in hell you could possibly beat, I had to prepare for your running away. There was a small chance you would escape the wrath of the spiders, and even less now, but it was still a chance," Vernon's snickered as he kept making his way down, occasionally shifing to a tree further away from the spreading flame. "So I enlisted the aid of a black dragon. It was an easy thing for me to do given that I practically rule over the marshes. The safest path from the deadly and now highly angered spiders will lead you to her and her freinds," Vernon continued. While he acted as if he owned the marshes, he doubted he would be able to get the help of a black dragon easily. He in fact had been untruthful about the black dragon, but how would Movani know better? "Nowing now how well your demise is set, would you still rather fight futily instead of conceding to me. I'm sure you they will be let you atleast have a few more concious minutes of life if they pay so much for you alive rather than dead," Vernon snikered as he stoped on a branch. Mosvani was faintly in veiw through the thin mist. Vernon had not intention of turning the fool in now. There was much more fun too be had with him now. Vernon would follow Mosvani now. Vernon could do well to keep himself safe, but knew it was less likely for Mosvani who was not so familiar with the territory. Vernon was still a safe distance from the ground, and the fire, though the canopy of the forest was quickly going ablaze. Vernon did not wait for a reply as he quickly pulled out his aimed his slingshot over Mosvani with an acidic bullet ready to be fired. Vernon fired at a large burning branch. The acid struck it and several branches below it. The burning branches fell down towards Mosvani. Vernon had no doubt Mosvani would evade it easily. It was merely to show Vernon he still had the upper hand. |

(It was time one of us got hurt. wtg = Way to go. I'll leave these notes up another day, then I will go back to edit them out because I do not like having the ooc notes in my RP's) Mosvani listened to the rats voice, trying to focus in on it to see him but unable to spot him through the trees. The fire was spreading slower then he had hoped, however it did not surprise him. The moisture in the air would make it hard for the fire to spread, the the spider webs had proved to be a small help. He would have to do something to aid it, now that the fire was no longer magical. He thought about the rats words, finding he didn't believe the a word about the dragon. Maybe their was a dragon, but he sincerely doubted anything such as a dragon would stoop so low as to take orders from a rat. However, that did not mean their wasn't a dragon out their who would not take kindly to it's home burning. The spiders he knew were true, as he had spotted some scuttling away and glaring at him menacingly from the parts of the forests that the fire had not yet spread to. The best lies always had some truth into them. He heard the cracking of branches then, and looked up just in time to see several flaming branches hurtling toward him. He quickly bent over to cover his head, running forward as the first branch landed on his left shoulder. It knocked him forward to the ground and he quickly scrambled forward, narrowly avoiding the remaining branches. He felt a burning in his shoulder then, thinking his shirt had caught fire, quickly stripped it and threw it down. His shoulder had been burned where it landed, not to badly, but enough to slow him down. He had no doubt that the branches falling were no coincidence. The rat must still have some range at his disposal. Thinking quickly, he decided he would not give into the rat's demands. He'd fuel the fire instead. He yelled to the rat, unsure of where he was, but having a vague idea from where his voice had last been. "You aren't grasping at straws are you rat? You don't really expect me to believe that a Dragon would take orders from you? You're insane! If you will not retreat, that leaves me with little choice." He muttered "bahk'tess su'aco" under his breath then, focusing his will on making the wind stronger and blowing it in the direction that he had last heard the rats voice. It took great concentration to get the winds blowing, and he knew that this would make the fire much worse. The wind would carry the heat ahead of the fire, drying out the leaves, making it easier for them to catch fire. He was sweating now from the heat and concentration. His shoulder ached, and while he could use it it put him at a severe disadvantage versus the rat. He needed to end this, preferably with him keeping the use of all his limbs and remaining alive to tell the tell another day. Yelling so that the rat would be sure to hear over the roar of the fire and wind, "Let's end this or be on our way rat, or else we shall see what burns quicker - skin or fur." He ran forward then, dodging branches as they fell and hoping to get to the rat before the fire caught him. The fire roared as he went, seemingly having a life of its own, as the embers carried by the wind lighted more fires through out the forest. The damage would be great, but he knew it would die out once the winds stopped aiding it as their was just too much humidity in the area. He gripped his blades tightly, shoulder throbbing, as he sought the rat out. |

Vernon watched as the flaming branches fell down to Mosvani. He grinned evily when he it seemed Mosvani got hit. All he had to do was keep this up and stay out of Mosvani's reach, but Vernon quickly saw a flaw in that plan. If Mosvani became trapped under the blazing branches then Vernon would be very much out out of luck. He could aim for Mosvani instead of the braches above him, but that wasn't a good idea either that he wanted to keep Mosvani indentifiable and preferably alive. Vernon didn't have many options short of hoping Mosvani followed him or taking him head on. Vernon knew Mosvani would not fall for his bluff, but he surely wasn't grasing for straws. It was certainly something that could haunt Mosvani's mind if he gave it too much thought. Vernon felt and heard the winds increase shortly after Mosvani spoke. This fool had too many tricks up his sleeves. Vernon was now left with the same two options though now there was little doubt that Mosvani would be following him if he fled. There was only one way to escape the flames, but what if the annoying assassin had another trick up his sleeve. He'd have to finish this fight and quickly if he planned to make it out of here with Mosvani's body. "You call me the insane one? Your are the suicidal maniac let us not forget. I suppose I must be insane to beleive that a crazed fool like yourself would listen to any of my words. Needless to say, a dragon does not need to be following my orders to be enlisted for use against you," Vernon growled as he placed his sling shot in his pocket and pulled out his daggers again. Vernon was accustomed to warm and humid climates, but things were begining to heat up and dry out and quickly were becoming very uncomfortable. Vernon quickly jump down on to a lower branch and then jumped to the ground. His venmous eyes focused upon Mosvani. Vernon had inteded upon playing nice when he had learned of his employer betraying him, but Mosvani would defaniately have to pay for all this strife Vernon had to go through now. The flames flowed behind Mosvani, moving quickly, but not as quick as the half-feind. They wouldn't have much time before they both would need to be fleeing from the flames. That would be very dangerous, hopefully he could take out Mosvani before then. Vernon held his daggers tightly, ready to defend himself from the incoming Mosvani. Rushing towards the half-feind would be foolish as it brought him closer to the charging flames and if he moved backwards he would not be able to defend himself as well. Vernon took a deep breath before exhaling slowly. This definately had not turned out to be a delightful day and he would make sure Mosvani paid in full for making it go so sour. |
