| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

A thick layer of snow covered the streets of the city of Taras as large flakes fell harshly unto the ground. Few walked the streets for the extreme cold that swept from alley to alley. The city seemed almost empty under the midnight glow of the moon's eerie light. It cast a crystalline glaze that lept from rooftop to rooftop giving the city a fantastical feel that seemed almost unreal. Yet there was one place that seemed to hold back a kind of darkness from enveoping the city. The Song of Elves Tavern and Inn cast a fiery glow upon the streets surrounding it for the bright and joyous light that was emitted from its windows. A lone and blind figure crept from shadow to shadow slowly approaching the tavern. Eventually the doors to the tavern opened from someone leaving and so the shadowy figure crept in. He was in a cloak that cast an ominous shadow upon him. A blindfold covered his eyes which blinded him. Though in truth the blindfold kept others from a secret that was strange even to the owner. Various occurances seemed to be happening in the tavern. People were dancing, though there was no music save that which was sung by those daning and those around them, hooting, drinking, eating, and having an overall good time. It was a rather large and more luxurious tavern, yet it was also strange to say the least. A couple could be making love on one end of the room while another few could be planning treachory in another. Though slowly the cloaked elven figure who had just entered began to feebly make his way unto the back end of the tavern where he would be less likely to be seen. He was weak and needed rest of he had not taken a moments peace on his last journey. |

Fin was working the night shift once again on this cold winter night and as she made her rounds throughout the tavern she noticed an elf... One who seemed to be blind and need of a good drink. Steping over lover, drunks and some others she made her way over to the blind elf and layed a hand on his shoulder. "So we meet again sir... I do not know if you remember me but we met in the woods upon a night much the same as this one... if you do not remember I told you I am called Finduilas Fin for short... So do you want a drink my elven friend?" She asks a smile upon her face. As she waited for the man's reply she seated herself down beside him but removed her hand from his shoulder hoping htat he would not think her having already left. "So please tell me... what would you like to drink tonight... Its on the house since you are a first time customer." She told him hoping to convince him to order. |

The cloaked elven figure could feel footsteps approaching, but for a moment was unable to determine whether or not the person headed strait towards him. To his horror the footsteps came to a graceful stop in front of him, yet the words that came out of the woman's mouth were soft and yet commanding. He had heard them before just was still very tired from his journey and wondered whether or not he could trust this voice. It was a great struggle to even keep his thoughts on track. As he felt her hand being placed upon his shoulder he only slightly tensed, but then remembered her fully. He would have taken off the dark green cloth that was placed upon his eyes, but was still not sure. The cloaked elven man then slowly tilted his head upwards to face the woman as she had sat down next to him. He was a bit pale for a currently unknown reason as he then spoke. " Tea… Of what kind I do not care... ". The cloaked elven man spoke in a voice that was seemingly cold and flowing, but it was easily seen that it was meant to cover his weakened state. He turned his head only slightly towards the floor once more in order to hide the grimace of pain that flashed across his face as his right arm clutched his left shoulder. The elven man then once more looked up his face seeming to be still pale. Evidently his journey was not at all peaceful. A small bead of sweat, which seemed to have a redish tint to it, slid down his forehead and caressed his right cheek. " And yes... I remember... ". The man said as he once more turned his head towards the tavern floor. |

With gently eyes and an even more gently hand she lifted his face softly from the chin so that once again he was facing her. Shaking her head slightly she used her other hand to check his tempture upon his forehead and let out a sound of alarm. "Oh my... you are burning up like fire. " She told him as she quickly helped the man to his feet. "Let me help get you upstairs to one of the bedrooms... You really need to rest Niel and please do not fight me about me helping you." She said as she got him slowly up the stairs and headed down the hall way towards a vagent room. Once inside she helped the blind elf to the bed and went back out. She came back in few moments later with a bowl of cold water, a cloth and some blankets. Helping Niel out of his jacket and outter wet clothing she covered him in the blankets before she gently started to dap his forehead with a cold wet cloth. "You'll feel better soon I believe Niel.", Fin told him as she sat on the bed with him. "If you want me to get you anything please please let me know", she added as she continued to dap his forehead. |

The room seemed to fall into a giant swirl as he was barely able to speak. " Ill be fine... " Though before he knew it he was being helped into what seemed to be a room that was unoccupied. The elven figure felt reassured as the bed held his weight. The shrouded man felt balance and was feeling slightly better as Finduilas wiped his head with a cold cloth. All the elven man remembered from that time was going in and out of consciousness. He focused all of his energy on healing his injury, and in doing this a part of him found a gap to remember what had been hidden from him for so long. Pictures of a woman flared in and out of his memory as he every so often opened his eyes to look upon Finduilas. Over time he noticed that the picture in his head seemed to match, though only slightly, with fin. A sigh escaped his lips as he seemed to have passed out, but only moments later his eyes opened wide and became proof that he was now wide awake. His good arm reached and gently reached up to hold Finduilas' hand. " I have only met you twice, but it seems that I have known you all my life... " The elven man said as his blue upon blue hued eyes seemed to grow brighter and brighter with each moment that he stared at Finduilas. A look of pain crossed his face as he winced in order to sit up. A look of question and slight wonder were plastered upon his soft elven featured face as he stared into Fin's eyes as if looking for a hint of even the slightest kind. " Niel is what many call me now... " |
