| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Mowen headed out the Underdark caverns, though the guards and interested onlookers were obviously giving him warnings and dire predictions of impending doom. He had a rough map as to where the Atlantis lay, but had been told to take nothing for granted, since few traveled even those few miles to the mysterious Atlantis. Mowen tended not to approve of the odd bunch out there, a great criminal was there and his work is to hunt him. This forest he had heard, and from his smattering of goblin he understood that the jungle seemed to be more than just plants and animals, as dangerous as those may be. It was alive in a near-intelligent sense, and it was said to make judgments on travelers… Something else was making him uncertain, even anxious, for he did not understand his dream of last night and felt he should. There had been humans in his dreams, and a goblin or two, he thought, but none of it was clear. The humans were two women and they were both odd; one had strange blue markings on her face, and the other he could not see clearly, for she had a ghostly face superimposed above her own. There had also been a goblin woman and two goblin men, or one man and his double – they looked exactly alike. All he remembered for sure was that he did not approve of the human woman with the blue markings, nor of the goblin woman. Thinking about his dream, he brought himself back to attention. It was cursed hard to find one’s way in this green delerium: he had thought about hiring a guide, but could find none willing to approach the Atlantis. It was near nightfall and he should set up camp… but something drove him on, something unsettled, something yet to do. |
