| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Hokai looked around the vast, and hectic harbor. He was alone now. No one to teach him. No one to guide him. Hokai realized that to survive this solitary life, he must be strong, and to be strong, he must live out the independent life. Ever since the incident, Hokai was independent. He always stood his ground. However, now that he has arrived in Imythess, his true quest to attain the true strength of a ninja would begin. Taking in his first breathes as a ninja wanderer, he scanned the harbor for anything dangerous and harmful. This is the first task a ninja must achieve; Constant vigilance. In such a crowded place, it is required for anyone to be cautious. Crime, violence, and all other unreasonable harm lurks in civilizations such as Imythess. Even among ninjas, some of these things exist. Violence is unavoidable. The ninja's way is the way of dealing with it is to fight back and stop it. Hokai swung his sack on his miniature, yet well-built shoulder and began to set out to the dock exit. He had only brought a ninja blade, some knifes, and a bottle for containing fresh water. He had decided before leaving his home country that the less supplies he took, the less of a burden there would be that he would have to handle. As Hokai walked down the boardwalk, he sensed a prescense nearing him. His body immediately reacted. His young, keen eyes sharpened as he drew out his ninja blade with immense speed, and precision. Hokai's excellent skill with the blade was exceptional for a even a ninja twice his age. He heard the footsteps draw more near, and approach him. A voice called out to him... |

Many that walked the docks around Hokai watched him as they passed. Each of the people seemed a little bit weary of the new comer. But now-a-days who could blam the people. Many who came to Imythess now were either so scared they were violent or simply violent. But when Hokai un-shiethed his blade many began to glare at him as they gave him a wide girth to pass. But through the crowds and sitting on a small harbor dock building was the young cloaked mystery that had been running around Imythess for the last few weeks. She had been appearing in shadows and haunting many. All the while she watched, nothing more nothing less...simply watched. This was another case. She titled her head letting the long ebony strands that were loose tilt and fall with her heads tilt. The rest was pulled into a bun letting the ends spring up in the back. Her eyes though watched Hokai with curiousity of a cat. Her eyes were white with gray pupils and black rims, eyes that seemed never to look at one but through ones very soul. As he stood in stance though she finally moved standing she walked quickly to the edge of the buildings roof and then looking once more at Hokai she dropped down from the roof and into the shadows of the alley ...vanishing. |

From the other end of the dock, Olath could already see a drawn blade. Everywhere his life had lead him, it always seemed to go into violence, and bloodshed. Olath walked forth, nearing the unsheathed sword, hoping to put an end to whatever cause the sword had been unsheathed for. As studied the sword, he noticed its style was unusualy, for a place like this. Immigrants... Olath immediatley thought to himself. The lich had experience them before, but usually in large, mercenary armies. But none wielded the weapons that he saw before him. As Olath became close to what had drawn so much attention, he realized that the figure seemed a little short to be threatening. But Olath had known never to underestimate any opponent. Olath pulled the masterwork morningstar he had recently purchased from this city. "Boy! I'd suggest you drop the sword before a fight breaks out!" Olath shouted to the kid, as a warning, more than a threat. Olath didn't want to fight a kid, in fear of not only gaining a bad reputation, but also, he might be kicked out of the city. This is not what he wanted, but if he must, Olath would fight the young one. He held his morningstar as if he were about ready to strike. The people near Olath quickly cleared the area. |

Hokai glared at the stranger before him. He observed carefully his wielded mace as well as his armor. A quite strong opponent for even young Hokai. He stared for a while as the people cleared the area and formed a human circle around them. Hokai widened his stance, and lowered his blade into a striking stance. "Do not order me what to do." From now on, Hokai had to be strong and vigilant. No one was to order him. Hokai, in an instant, disappeared from view. Perhaps only the soldier's eye would have noticed him race up behind the stranger with immense speed. Sensing that the stranger with the mace had also foreseen his attack, he cautiously jumped up in the air, and awaited the man's next move. |

Annoyed, Olath put his morningstar away. Seeing as he did not want to fight, Olath would once again warn him that this was not a good idea. The boy quickly disappeared before Olath. He only assumed that the kid was going to fight the undead mage. "I am not telling what to do, merely that if you keep that sword drawn, you're not only going to attract the attention of townsfolk, but also the Talas City Guard. And they will not be as forgiving as I. So, I am asking you, to stop this, and put the sword away." Olath stated simply, hoping the boy wouldn't attack him. Even if he was a kid, he could probably strike and kill Olath if he wanted to. |

Hokai raised his blade to strike. He mustered up his strength for a final blow. Just as his blade came down upon the head of the mage, it halted. Hokai decided to spare the life of the commoner. A ninja should always have a reason to fight back. He evaded the massive body of the stranger and landed softly on the ground. Almost effortlessly, he resheethed his blade and stood his ground. He realized that everyone else was spectating and observing him. Many eyes stared at his young self suspiciously. Hokai, fearlessly, pulled out a knife from his belt and pelted it toward the ground. The knife almost instantly plugged into the wood of the boardwalk, only an inch away from the bystanders. "Consider this a warning. Don't get in the way of a ninja." |

Olath couldn't help but chuckle at the boy's comments. "What are you, 15, 16 years old?" He asked, as he turned to him. "Next time, you should consider starting fights like this, otherwise your confidence will get you killed..." Olath stated simply. He bent over and retrieved the knive. In a quick movement, Olath tossed it upward, grabbed it by its blade, and threw it back at the boy. The blade stuck into a plank next to his foot. "And you should also be a little more conservative with your weapons. One knive can make the difference, boy." Olath said to him, in his deep raspy voice, that sounded almost inhuman. |

Hokai grinned. The way the man spoke and belittled him made the stranger almost ignorant to him. He disliked when someone ignored his abilities. He cooly explained, "Stranger, you should not jump to conclusions, either. What if I were someone on a mission to assassinate you, disguised as a teenager? What then?" He calmly pulled out the knife and inserted it back into his belt. He gave a false smile before speaking again. "Perhaps a fight is what you want?" Hokai extended out his arms and directed it toward the chest of the stranger. Suddenly, a small, deadly fireball began to form within his palm. He grinned. However, it was not an evil grin that most spoiled ninjas would portray. It was a strong, and confident grin. The well-controlled fireball swirled about within the small space of his palm. "Or perhaps you are frightened? Perhaps you were not knowledgeable of the special magical abilities of the Kwa clan? By the way, my age.... is 15" |

Olath was becoming greatly annoyed at this boy. "If someone came to assassinate me, I'd probably kill them, then kill whoever sent them, because of their stupidity. One reason is because I have done nothing to wrong anyone in this life, and anyone I wronged in my past life is already dead." He stated simply. Olath retrieved his morningstar from his cloak again. "I am beginning to become bored of speaking with you, so I shall take my leave." Olath stated, as he walked off of the dock, and near the entrance into the city."One last bit of advice before I leave, if you honestly want to get killed that much, then go to the Academy of Arms, and fight at one of their arenas. Alteast they'll clean up whatever is left of you." Olath said. He knew this boy would get killed or outnumbered with his cocky youthfulness. Olath turned and vanished into the crouds. |
