| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Okay, I just thought I'd give an update as far as things going on in Imythess are going... A couple notes of things that are coming soon is a herbalism shop where you will be able to purchase herbs and create potions. This should be an awesome update and Sargoth has put a lot of gret work into this shop. This should probably be released within the next couple of days. Also, the Midwinters Festival is still coming up. It will begin on December 25th, although I am unsure as how much I will actually get started on that day and it will go on to the 1st of January, which will be the beginning of a new year at Imythess. The celebration will have some in-character parties going on around Imythess and raffles for magic items as well as any other activities I can come up with for this week of fun. Now, every Friday will have an announcement under Current Events at the bottom of the page just next to Birthdays Today reminding you to post at the Sales Counter to collect payment. Also, jobs have been extended until the 31st of the month. There will be a calendar announcement for that as well and from now on it will always take place on the last day of the month and there will always be an announcement to remind everyone about that. The Imythess web-site is taking a long time to make, partly because I have been having trouble motivating myself. I do hope to have it done someday, but as to how soon that will be is a question I do not have the answer to. One of my new goals for Imythess as a whole is to make it a more realistic world. Having the web-site finished will help with this, but that is only part of my plan. One thing I have noticed with some newer members (and even some older ones) is that many of the evil ones have been rampaging the lands of Imythess (burning down Kellen, attacking Taras, killing NPCs) believing that there will be no repercussions or consequences for these types of actions. This is about to change. I am working on a Bounty system. I am not completely sure how it will work, but the basics of it are, any characters who run around, killing innocents and terrorizing villages will become wanted men (or women). This is not a punishment to the players of these characters, but it might make characters think twice before killing the innocent bartender. There will be a special topic somewhere, possibly in a whole new forum considering Imythess IC news, listing those who are wanted and for what reasons. Bounty hunters, knights, and city guards are likely people to hunt down those on the wanted list. Again, I stress this is not a punishment to the player, but to show that Imythess is a changing, living land, the NPCs much more than simpletons to be used as fodder. Another little something I am wanting to add is special, changing, IC forum descriptions. It would not change the actual forum description on the outside, which is the basic description, but be in the forum rules area, where the forum images are posted above the topics of the forums. I am not sure how I will do this, but I want it so that every week there is a new special description below the image of what is currently happening in that part of Imythess. For example, the Norwood Forest it might look something like this:
Anyways, thats what's been on my mind lately. I apologize for my seeming lack of productivity on Imythess lately. I have some dragon commissions I kept putting off and now only have a few days to complete them and this time of year has just been really busy for me and I've been having trouble motivating myself to get some real work done around here, but don't worry, once the New Year hits, I should be back and better than ever! Edit: Oh, and by the way, 1,601 members! w00t! |

I know what you mean about the motivation thing. I'm having the same trouble with my own site. I really like the idea about having a little part about the weather in the regions of the land, that could make the topics more interesting because I think that most people don't think about the weather in their posts and that can be a large factor in some cases. The bouty thing, well I'm not really involved in any of that, though it sounds pretty cool anyway. Good job on the ideas and keep up the good work. |

I have actually seen you toy with some of these ideas, particularly the rules in the Ebon Plains restricting the killing of gryphons except in self defense. Cool ideas overall, Laoura. As far as the bounty system is concerned, I'm already hunting the most recent rampager so I suppose I'm a step ahead of the bulletin board, lol.And in case anyone was wondering, yes, the herbalism shop is very cool and large. |

That is awesome, I like the idea about displaying the weather in each area. Although that will take a lot of time if you plan on changing it every day. |

Seeing my tactics are not so blut as those randomly burning towns, this bounty thing will be a good thing. I saw when you replied to Slayer's topic, that was pretty cool. I like to see the god's showing some kind of effect outside of their temples. Poor Adsero. As for all the upcoming events, that is a nice load. Good Work, Laoura and Sargoth.

Actually, I only want to change it once a week. It would be really difficult to change it every day, and since RPs generally go on for days, people might get confused and have the weather change in every post that takes place on a new day.
Its one thing when your an evil character, its another when you run around acting as though your absolutely invincible and no one can do anything about destructive actions. Slayer is a perfect example of a person who doesn't think there are any consequences for killing people. I can respect evil characters, but the ones like Slayer urks me.
Yes, he annoyed me, therefore I decided to show up and try to send a message that his actions would not go unpunished. He's made several desctrucitve topics and that annoys me a little. He's one person that actually helped me inspire the bounty program. |

Lol I didn't like him either. There have been tooo many people making topics like that and to make matters worse they really weren't all that special. I could see if a god or maybe even god's elite whent on a rampaged without anything in their way, but even the mightiest mage would find himself in a sticky situation. |

I know. My point is that they would be the only ones with enough muscle and skill to commit certain crimes without punishment. |

Or, more specifically, the muscle to shrug off most attempts at retribution ;). I'm still trying to save towns, so that will keep me busy until the bounty list is made. This also adds true flavor to the bounter hunter job we currently have. |

cool ideas guys! The weather's gonna be cool because it'll give you something to write about when you are starting a new topic. You can talk about the weather and such. |
