Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Shynthriir had not set a foot in such a place as this for wuch a long time that he himself could not remember. He had been out and about in the lands of Imythess getting stronger, building alliances with strangers, and most importnantly, preparing himself for the last strech in his goal, to discover his parents. He was learning much about his race and how they worked, he had even discovered where the city of the drow was, but he had not the courage to go down and look the two people that abandoned him in the face. What would they look like, would they still care about his? Many questions flowed through his head; questions that would be answered later. Now was time for ale.

Shynth looked around and saw a good enough table, it was almost in the middle of the tavern, but Shynthriir didn't care about being hidden as he usually was. He was feeling more at home in these lands and didn't mind meeting someone knew even in a place such as this where the queerest of folk come.

A cup of ale if you please. Shynthriir asked a nearby waitress. The waitress hurried off and went to get him his drink. Shynthriir placed his feet up on the table and then leaned his chair back a little. Yeah, he thought to himself, I needn't worry about anything tonight. I deserve a good jolly day at a good tavern. He was just about to close his eyes when the waitress came back and placed the cup of ale on the table in from of him. Shynthriir took a sip and then leaned back once more, closing his eyes slighty, basking in the goodness that was nothing.

Numair entered the tavern and found herself a table near the middle of the room. With a light sigh she eased herself into the wooden chair, ignoring the creak of the legs. It felt only too good to be off of her weary feet. Numair had walked the greater part of the night and all of this day. Her small feet were worn raw and her dirty shoes showed the beginning of the blood stains. Two nights ago it had been a new moon and she wanted to get as far away as she could from the small tree she had ended up sleeping in. A waitress came to see what Numair wanted, sparing a glance at Numair's feet which were still held out in front of Numair. Numair quickly swung her legs under the table and ordered a cup of tea and a small bowl of soup. The waitress scurried off to fetch the food.

After a bit of warming up and eating some of the good tasting food Numair finally looked around the tavern. There were the normal drunkards, worn travellers, and locals. Nothing too spectacular. Perhaps this night would be normal, perhaps not, either way for the moment Numair was more than content to sit and sip her tea, savoring the warm and comfort of the tavern.

Shynthriir took another sip of his ale, letting out a sligh belch afterwards. He looked up and around to see if he knew of anyone that wa sin the tavern, he found no one; he did see an unusual sight. There was a human, or semi-human, that had just entered the tavern. She seemed to be part cat and also seemed used to the land. His eyes meet hers and he motioned for her to come. This would make for an interesting conversation.

A man near by made a loud belch and Numair sighed. She took another long sip of her tea and casually looked about, her eyes skimming over the crowd. She looked at the man who made the noise and noticed that he was motioning for her to come and sit with him. A few seconds went by as she calculated her options. She could stay where she was, in the creaky chair, sipping tea, or she could go meet some one new. With another sigh Numair stood up, slipped on her shoes silently mumbling a curse at her throbbing feet, and walked over to where the man was sitting. "Mind if I take a seat?" Numair knew he had been motioning towards her, but she thought she'd be curteous in any case and ask.

Shynthriir was quite shocked that the catwoman still asked permission to sit down, he had after all invited her to come and sit with him. Please, please, sit down and relax. He motioned for her to take the seat on the other side of the table and then placed his hand once again on his mug of ale and took another sip.

The tavern was filled this night. Many faces both old and new were seen there tonight. Many people seemed to be telling stories of adventures they had been on and other telling of things that they had seen in their lives. In this corner though, no stories of heroics were being told, and all that Shynthriir wanted to hear was the interesting story of this catwoman's life; more importantly her race.

I can guess that you are asked this often, and I mean not to offend you in any way by asking this of you, but could you please tell me of which race you are?
