Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Hateful words trailed off into the air, air reemed with the magical touch of encroaching daylight. While light itself did not fully managed to break its way into the closed room, it was a bright day and sound travelled well before the rush of the town market. And so it was deemed that the dark phrases were carried upon the ethereal shoulders of the morning's dawn and were swept back and away to the keeper. The warm tingle of the day's grace, that which would never touch the skin of the shadowed vampire kin, filled countless lives with strength and renewal as the inescapable morning line of sun swept across the landscape. Those dimmed by the night sky were soon alight with a golden glow, and the blossoming trees and thirsty flowers looked toward the radiant orb in thanks and dependance. None between the two endpoints of the destination had the faintest idea that this morning carried a message.

Sargoth sat within the highest chamber of the Temple of Day, the house of the priceless Sun Crystal, upon the golden throne of his position in meditative thought. His mind drifted from place to place across the land, watching the events of life unfold as deemed by the almighty fates. So the typical time was spent within the basking rays until he was disturbed by upsetting words. From the temple walls, the morning light relayed the message in a nearly accurate representation of the spoken voice.

Damn that God... we're stuck in this tavern... Damn the god of day to hell.

Sargoth's white eyes slid open to stare into the crystal sitting before him, it being held in the air by ornately shaped gold and platinum. A bolt of lightning flashed through his visage as he slowly shook his head.

"Ranewen, what have you gotten yourself into this time? Perhaps you will still draw me that picture," he said in a very low voice, almost sad. "A good day to you, Goddess."

Sargoth bent forward and rested his chin on his palm before using his other hand to reach toward the Sun Crystal. An unsensed shockwave burst forward from the temple's tower and flew out in all directions in a wall. This day would be especially bright and warm, perhaps as a reminder to the vampiric that there was always a balance.

((OOC: I don't hate you either, Kyreth :) Thanks for thinking of me, lol.))

Ranewen looked outside as the burst of light became stronger. Even through the closed shutters, she felt the God’s anger, it seemed. She didn’t hear his words, but she knew that he was most likely watching them. She shook her head and sighed lightly and muttered an apology to him as she looked over at the lone man. She almost felt bad that he would have no life afterward. She felt slight pity for him, but eventually her cold, black heart pushed it away as quick as it came. She glanced back only once at Kryeth and she moved silently over to his table and sat down. She decided not to play by his rules. She chatted a bit with the man for no more then five minutes, and finally, when no one was looking, she pushed herself right next to him and licked his neck slightly. Of course, he wasn’t expecting what was coming out of this. She then suck her teeth into his skin and let her hand slide over his mouth so that he wouldn’t be heard. OF course, he didn’t realize that blood w as seeping out. He simply thought she was playfully biting her for some reason, as weird as this tavern was. The blood came out and she began to lick at it for a while, the warmth returning into her hands. She drank until the last drop of blood seeped through her body to fill her only for a few moments. She shoved him under the table in the corner and felt her hands. They were warm for once. But when she reached the table by Kryeth, they were cold again. Eternally cold. She placed her back to him once again. Not out of rudeness or anger, it just happens that she was sitting that way when she left. “Good enough?” she asked and licked her fangs free of blood an d looked around the tavern once again. They hadn’t even noticed her killing him. If they looked at them while she was biting, they wouldn’t think of it as a Vampire feeding. They thought that Vampire couldn’t come out during the day. But they were wrong. Very wrong.

Kryeth watched her move with his good eye narrowing. His dead did nothing more than stay idly open, staring into the black abyss it saw. Shivering he felt a layer of anger serge through him as she disobeyed his commands. Ruffling back his hair he gazed at hr coolly as she sat back once more. Tracing his fingers up her arm he grinned and forcefully grabbed her chin, yanking her head back to face him. Glaring at her he spoke lightly. Next time Milady.. I would not disobey my commands.. You may be Goddess.. But you sill belong to me.. Smiling a big nicer he playfully nipped her ear, his nails digging into her shoulders deeply.

The sudden glow of light made Kryeth wince, as if someone had thrown a sword into his already unmoving heart. Shivering again he drew back into the shadows of the booth, pulling Ranewen back with him, almost as if he couldn’t let her go. He knew very well she could handle herself by now.. But he wanted her to stay with him.. Glancing at the half opened windows he made a note to visit the temple of Day later.. Although, not for a pleasant meeting. No.. he would go and curse that God out. For in his mind- it’s what he deserved.

Running a freezing hand along Rae’s skin he beckoned a waitress over, not wanting people to think them of unusual. Smiling cruelly he ordered plain rolls and butter, and two glasses of wine. Which, in a hated tone of voice, added it should be real wine, or she wouldn’t see the sun again. At least, not alive. Messaging his lips against Ranewen’s skin he couldn’t help but speak to her.. She was like this drug he couldn’t get enough of. Let us wait for night my dove.. I can promise it will make you feel better.. moving his hands around her waist, her worked one of his hands down on her thigh, resting it against her softly. Feeling her tense he just grinned, breathing softly onto her neck.. Loving her. Nodding to the waitress as she set down the wine, he lifted a goblet up to Rae’s lips, Kryeth’s other hand still rested on her thigh. Grinning spitefully he nipped her ear again, moving her back against him, waiting.. Waiting for the night.

((you can skip time ahead.. Or something :P))

You don’t own me…” she said coldly and smirked as she ignored his hands around her. She jerked her head back away from the wine and refused to drink it. “I can feed myself…” she said and looked around elsewhere in the tavern as she, too waited for the night. She knew, now that she had made a wrong decision, but she’d live with it. There’s not much he could do to her when she returned to the Temple. In fact, he couldn’t take control of her anyway. She could possess – even kill – him if she wished to do so. She smirked evilly and buttered a roll. After she finished buttering it, she took a bite, yet tasted nothing as it went right to her stomach. She just wanted to be out on her own once again. She disliked being in his company only because he never could take his hands off of her, it seemed. She ignored that, though, and watched the windows and as the crowd thickened.

(Time skip!)

Ranewen finally took a sip of the wine, her back still to Kryeth. She watched as the dancers took to the stage and the bards began to play their music. The barmaids ran around taking orders and bringing out drinks to the many customers that crowded into it. Ranewen slowly moved herself away from Kryeth so she could have her own space a bit. She looked around, blinking every so often, taking in each and every face in the tavern. She leaned back against her seat and looked over at Kryeth for the first time since he had jerked her head toward him since she had disobeyed him. Her eyes could tell what she wanted. She wanted to know what they were going to do now that it was night.

Kryeth’s good eye was shut, his black one idly staring at her.. As if it could see. Twitching, the black orb swirled from side to side fast, out of Kryeth’s control. Cursing under his breath, he bent his head down, his hand clamping over his eye, grimacing with pain. So many years ago he had lost it.. It seemed almost like he had lived his whole life through one eye. After the spasm he looked up at Rae, seeing almost hate in her beautiful orbs. Glaring coldly, he smiling at the dark window. Ahh night at last.. Pushing her aside, he strode out of the booth, moving into the middle of the room, his dark cloak swirling about his body. Moving to the door, he felt the gaze of the tavern on him.. The icy stares cursing his type. They knew what he was by now.. And many hated him for it. Grinning, Kryeth walked out of the tavern, wondering if someday, one of them could be his dinner snack.. Then he’d see who’s laughing.

A chilly breeze of air wafted over his body.. Buy felt nothing but a breeze. The temperature was lost to him. Sighing idly, he didn’t even bother to see if Ranewen followed him.. Although, secretly, his dead heart wished she would.. He realized by now, that his Lust for her was transforming into something more serious.. How, he didn’t quite know.. She was only a weak female.. And yet at the same like, he saw her as a mistress.. A woman who could stand beside him forever ruling with a inner strength. Shaking his head he walked on down a long alley, his ears not listening for footsteps. If she wants to come.. She will.. And if she wants me to know it.. She will. The alley led into a main street, and Kryeth’s forum moved down the sidewalk silently, blending into the shadows, out of the bright burning lights. Moving farther, he passed houses, already turned in for the night.. Then he saw it. A main fountain.. Dead from all activity stood in the middle of the square. .and this side of the town seemed to be abandoned.. The houses lay dormant. The fountain’s spouts no longer brought fourth a supply of water.. Instead a sickly red liquid dripped from one of the spouts. Blood. Running a finger along the smooth stone, Kryeth smiled. Yes.. This part of town was the vampires layer.. For the few which decided to live here. Only found by those who knew where to find it.. Moving to the bench he sat down, his eyes staring idly at the stone road, wondering, if Ranewen would grace him by sitting down beside him. Oh he wished she would.. He wished it more than anything to be honest.. Though his could exterior showed none of his inner thoughts. The feelings and thoughts which lay bundled up inside his un-beating heart.

Humming softly, Kryeth whispered a few tones from a old song he knew into the night air.

I avenge with darkness,
the blood is the life
The Order of the Vampire,
I feed on human life…

Ranewen let him go by and she watched him as most stared. She yawned lightly and looked around, not knowing whether or not she should follow. Slowly, she rose from her seat and she made for the door quickly. She looked around as no one looked up to stare at her as she through her cloak around her and felt no warmth from it. She sighed heavily and pushed open the door and looked down the street. She slowly walked, head down, toward where she saw him going through the window. She felt the presence of other d ark creatures, those that followed her most likely. She lifted her gaze to look around and she stopped in the shadows, using her Shadowdancer abilities to disappear into the shadows and watch Kryeth for a while. He seemed to be staring right at her, yet he couldn’t see her. It was impossible. Unless he was Oppel – which he wasn’t – he wouldn’t be able to see her outline. She slowly crept towards the bench and sat down beside him, finally letting her ability fade and become visible again. She was looking out at the street as well. “Waiting for me?” she asked plainly and glanced over at him from the corner of her left eye. The silence here felt almost deadly and she shivered at it. She couldn’t feel the air around her. She could almost think she was just a ghost walking the lands. But she knew that was not so. Not if she was a Goddess. She’d be in the Abyss if she was dead, and she wasn’t. She’d know by now. She took in a breath and looked over at him again, her red eyes just staring blankly as if she looked right through him to the other side, as if her eyes were swords going through him. She laced her fingers together and turned toward him on the bench, her back leaning against the bar that was usually used as an arm rest, a smirk dancing on her lips as she watched him.

Kryeth winced as she appeared, almost scooting away from her. He hardly acknowledged her presence. She’s a Goddess.. And a Vampire.. And she’s slightly under my control.. He sighed slowly, and glared at her, his eyes flaming and cold.. Not like such a thing was different though. You can leave.. I can nothing more to teach you.. And you obviously don’t want to be here.. He thought to him self, but didn’t dare to add.. He had seen her gaze in the tavern.. And he was almost sure he meant nothing more to her than a lonely vampire who had turned her.. And yet, while his heart didn’t move, it longed for her.. He wanted to just reach out, and feel her icy skin beneath his fingers. He ached. And for a moment.. Felt.. Almost human. Cursing he say back, turning to look at Rae slowly, his eye’s gaze softening just slightly as he looked at her.. He grinned slightly, his stomach rumbling for a fresh kill.. Not now… He hissed at it, not even caring if it wanted to be fed… He wouldn’t leave Ranewen.. Although, he guessed that’s what she wanted.

Moving Kryeth stood up, the hunger gnawing at him now.. Glancing back at the Goddess he bowed slowly, a grin fixed on his lips. Excuse me miss.. But My hunger is killing me.. Tipping a imaginary hat he wandered off down the alley, listening with all his senses for a human.. Then he felt it.. A presence nearby. Licking his lips, Kryeth glanced about looking for the source of the blood.. Turning he locked his gaze on a young man. From his estimation, he seemed to be in his early teens.. Probably around 15 or so. Creeping silent over behind him, He grabbed the body and dragged him into the darkened alley, his nails digging into his face and shoulder, feeling them tear the skin. He was a man.. Or at least acted like one by not screaming. Forcing him against the wall he bit hard and ruthless, almost getting out his anger with his bite. Lapping up the sweet blood he grew greedy.. He sucked it all up quickly. His hands were still warm.. Human like.. As soon as it came, he felt them sink back into the cold abyss he lived in. Kryeth sighed and walked back from the alley to where Ranewen sat, His heart beating once from the last of the blood he had drained. Grinning wide, Kryeth sat down beside him, forcefully keeping his body from touching hers.. Wondering if that was what she wanted.. A trickle of blood still clung to his chin as he stared at her. Trying to figure out why he wanted her. Why she made him feel like this.. Just why.

Ranewen sat a lone for a while and when he returned she rose to her feet. Without a word, she didn’t look back at him as she slowly walked down the street, heading toward the Haunted Marsh, where her temple lay in the mist. She sighed lightly and held her head low as she let the shadows embrace her and show her the way home.

((Bleh, it’s short, but all I wanted to do wa s an ending. ^^))
