Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Skorne watched this newcomer apprehensively, wondering how he could affect his plan. Since it appeared he was friends with Adsero, he might try to stop Skorne from killing her. He couldn't allow that, he would have to just wait for the perfect oppurtunity. "Hello there, as Adsero said, my name is Skorne" He held out his hand to shake the newcomer's, already thinking up back up plans should he interfer with Skorne trying to kill Adsero. That was his most valuable asset on this mission, the ability to improvise when needed. He was glad that he was skilled at it, for improvising help you stay unnexpected, and catch your opponent off gaurd.

Demus turned to the man, and glared at him...then spoke , "I am not one to be triffled with, i cannot say waht it is about you that bothers me, but it is something about you, and therfore i am bothered by you, so if you please to not talk to me, i will be taking elave soon enough, and you may continue on wahtever journey has brought you here, mind you, I am not one to be toyed with either, so if you have anything to say that is of relevance to me, say it now." Demus pushed the mans hand to the bar,a dn turned back to Adsero, and mouthed the words "bad things are to some of this" and then began to speak aloud again " So, how have things been in the guild my dear old freind? And as far as anyone attacking you...I assume you still carry with you shadow, am i correct?" Demus kept his hand taht was hidden under his cloak near the now unlocked latch where he kept his small, yet powerfull dagger... he did not knwo what was wrong, but he sensed confusion and deceit , stemming from this new face...and he liked neither confusion nor deciet when they did not involve himself.

Adsero sighed. "Could you try to, oh, I don't know, NOT kill every new person I meet?" She smiled at them both. She didn't think anything was wrong with Skorne but she trusted Demus' judgment..most times. "I always carry around Shadow, never leave the ruins without a good sword..or three" She had Shadow, Chalybs, and her unnamed fire scimitar all on her person. Taking another long and deep gulp from her ale, she turned to Skorne. "Any idea when this elf will be showing up?" She took several long gulps and breathed deep for a moment to catch her breath and let any alcohol go through her system. Drinking too fast could cause slightly drunkeness but only for a second or two.

Skorne watched this stranger with interest, almost laughing at his nature. "So, you think I should tell you something of relevance to you. Okay, then I shall, listen up, because I am only going to say this once. Don't get in my way." Skorne waited to see what this stranger would do. He kept his left hand on the hilt of his scimitar, not wanting to be unprepared in case he should be attacked. He looked past Demus to see Adsero. "He should be here within the next two days, other than that I do not know. It depends on how fast he was travelling." Skorne needed this stranger to leave, he would only make it more difficult for Skorne to kill Adsero when the time was right.

Demus looked at the man, then stood up in a flash of agility, and spoke..."Arrogant elf, perhaps you have chosen not to heed my warnings, or perhaps you are far too foolish to note them, either way, i shall not stand in your way, in fact, if you please, i shall usher you on..into the next life...I have no reason to be in your way...you simply seem as if you are hiding something from Adsero, and it seems my presences bothers you because of this hidden , what we shall call information for now, because I am not sure what it is that you hide from the person behind me, but if I am in your way, then i shall stay in your way.Perhaps this is why i asked in a decent maner, so as not to disturb your plans, perhaps you have just blown your cover foolishly, or perhaps..." Demus noticed the mans hand on the pommel of his sword, and became enraged at this...and spoke with a hissing voice, his eyes now empty and emotionless..."I beg of thee, draw thy weapon upon my person, or that of my freindly, I beg of thee, and whence thy dost bring thy blade from its home , i shall alert you to my skill with my own, and a lesson you shall learn, a lesson indeed, for I am not telepathic, but I sense wrong within you, and I sense taht you wish harm, but most of all I sense taht yuo wish to die on this day, unhand thy blade, or I shall bring mine forth and cut thee down , and leave thy corpse as payment for my drink!" As Demus spoke, his body began to draw in light around it, giving him a almost glowing effect, except taht he was absorbing the light, not creating it...He awaited the mans response, he had no reason to attack this man, and the man had no reason to insult him in such a manor, but Demus was far too pridefull to just allow something to go such as this, it was his largest downfall in his charecter as a fighter...

Adsero rested her forehead in the palm of her head. Finishing off the last of her drink and making a good dent in her third, Adsero crouched atop her seat and placed a hand on Demus' shoulder. "Demus, leave the poor elf man alone. He's just here to help." She smiled and added, "Kill him later if you really feel the need." She moved her head to the side a bit so that Skorne was in her line of vision. "No offense, I just have this thing against elves and Demus here doesn't trust you."

Demus looked back at the small Adsero behind him, and then back to Skorn, then once more to Adsero, before calming a bit and returning his gaze to Skorne to see how he would reply to the events at hand...he did not much care for elves himself..but knew that there were good elves, and evil elves just like with humans..."I shall let the crerature before me make the choice ..." he said with a normal toned voice.

Skorne smirked at Demus, watching him carefully for any sudden moves. "Don't worry, the only aggressive response on my part will be if I am forced to defend myself and kill you. If you think that you can kill me, then go ahead and try, but think twice about your decision." Skorne kept his hand on the hilt of his scimitar, more to annoy Demus than for the need to draw it. "What cover could I have possibly blown when I mean no harm to Adsero? I think you are getting a little paranoid from to much stress on the road, you should learn to relax." Skorne knew he was goading the man, but he didn't care, he half wished the man would attack him, just so that he could dispose of him and be done with it.

Demus looked at the man, the smallish elf, and smirked back at him, Demus could not be insulted by such a low-life, and he knew it, Demus drew his Shadow dagger with extreme agility, and sunk it about a quarter inch into the bar, much to the dismay of the bar-keep.He smiled a large grin at the bounty hunter in front hof him, Demus knew exactly that the man was after someone, but for what reason he did not know, he assumed he was after a bounty, for Demus himself spent his entire life so far as a bounty hunter, he could tell a hunter from a traveler, almost as if he could smell the stench of hired murder on the mans clothing...Demus was far from affraid of this man...Demus had started wars here in Imythess, and had even batled the gods, with little damage to himself, and had even injured the great wilderness god Oppel in combat...this elf was no match for Demus, but he wondered if the elf knew this or not...

Adsero smiled and withdrew her hand from Demus' shoulder, settling back into her seat. "Well, now that you've decided to pospone the killing, MORE ALE!" Adsero chugged down the last of her drink and belched loudly before getting another. Between swigs Adsero spoke. "So Demus, what are your plans for after we're through here? Will you stay with us or move on to destroy things?"

(heh. Adsero has a very one track mind I think. She seems obsesed over ale. *sighs* oh well.)

Skorne watched Demus' every move, careful should he strike when Skorne wasn't paying attention. He decided it would be better if he didn't start a fight in the tavern, for it would create complications that would only delay him killing Adsero. He released his hold o nhis scimitar, and set his hand on the bar, picking up his untouched drink, and finally gulping some of it down. He wasn't very partial to ale, but he decided it would look suspicious if he didn't drink any of it. He decided to add one final detail to try and get Adsero focused on him an him alone. "There is something you should know about this Ahren, he is known to be an excellent archer. He alo supposedly has some special connection with the wind that aids him in combat. His arrows fly through fog and smoke alike, undettered by night or wind."

Adsero sighed loudly. "How wonderful. Wind which can bow out fire and really stings and arrows that don't stop. My life just keeps getting better and better." Adsero finished off her drink and rested her hand in her head, elbow on the bar, looking at nothing inparticular. "I might be able to burn the arrows, though I don't know how well that will work. The wind will still hurt but it wont be as bad as anything else I've withstood. I'll probably have a cloak on anyway so that might help..." Adsero laughed. "Sorry, didn't mean to think aloud."

Demus smiled at Adseros humor, and then turned and ordered a drunk who was bellowing about his wife leaving him to be quiet, or else. Then turning back to gaze at skorne he paid as little attention to his surroundings as possible...while still keeping himself as always aware...paying the majority of his attention to skorne, should he make a move, Demus would be ready.

(been gone a while, haven't ya Demus? Been spending all yer time with tess? lol :) )

Adsero closed her eyes and wiggled her toes patiently as she thought. "Strange though..." She spoke slow, a bit less hyper then usual, and opened her eyes just enough to see a small sliver of what was in front of her. "That he would take so long to find me that is. Wouldn't someone who wanted to kill me do it already? Hmm, well, maybe he's already here and he's just waiting for you two to leave." She looked sideways at Skorne, eyes still mostly closed, a bored look on her face. "How about this. If you were going to kill me, what would you do? Wait for the right time, or charge blindly in anger?"
