| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Zin dropped onto a stool, motioning to the bartender, who recognized her and handed her a bottle of elven wine. "Thank you." She nodded to the man, then handed him a few gold pieces, and closed her eyes, allowing herself time to think. The voice started up again... '...About time you decided to talk to me again. And drop that wine, I don't need an alcoholic host!' Zin sniffed, answered it. 'hehehehehe-no.' She scowled, moved her hand slightly, motioning to the unseen presence. 'You really don't get it do you? You can't tolerate alcohol, I can. It's that simple.' 'ONE THING!' The voice roared in her head and she winced, took a swig of the wine. 'ONE THING YOU CAN DO THAT I CANNOT!!!' 'Deal with it hag.' Zin pulled out the cork, and took a swig of the wine. It felt good, it's cold smooth texture sliding easily down her throat. 'I CAN KILL YOU!' Zin choked, dropping the bottle, and coughed, grabbing at her throat. The bottle smashed on the floor, and the pool of wine, so much like blood, seeped into the wood of the floor. The shards of glass flew into the air to land, tinking, on the floor. She doubled over, and screamed. "YOU CAN'T DO THIS! YOU CAN'T!" |

Ranewen had been performing on the stage when she heard some glass shatter and a scream coming from a some-what familiar voice. She rubbed her shoulder and stopped the dance she had started and made her way, bare-footed, over to where she had head the voice come from. She stepped on something and she looked at her foot as a piece of glass penetrated from it. Frowning, she pulled it out with light ease and the wound healed almost instantly. She then saw the woman was clenching her throat. "A-are you all right?" she asked as she bent down by her. Of course she's not all right! She's choking and she was telling someone that they can't... What did she mean? she asked herself a few times and couldn't come up with a solution. Ryu, her shadow dragon's human form, walked over as well and stood on the other side. His friends also turned around and watched, wondering what he was doing. He bent down and looked at her, wondering if she was possessed like other peopel he knew were. He looked up at Ranewen, yet she didn't return the glance. She knew he had looked at her, but there were more important matters to deal with at the time. She bent onto the floor, her dress getting soaked in the wine. She didn't care. The fabric was red. A velvet red. Quite pretty, some had commented her as she danced. The cool wine touched her knees and she shivered for a moment as the bartender came over as if nothing was wrong. He began to clean up the floor of the spilled wine and shattered glass. "Are you going to stand there and do nothing?!" she yelled at him angrily. "It is not of my duty to help her. I am no healer; a cleric. Neither. I en't ever been good at it, and I en't about to try it. She'll have to take her problems elsewhere if she needs help." Deciding to settle the matter later, she turned her gaze back towards Zin and recognized her face from the Crystal Caves. She was the woman she had healed when she remembered the words to the spell! She ignored that thought as she waited for Zin to reply, hoping that she would come out all right. If she had to, she'd have Ryu enter her mind and whisper a song in Drow to scare whatever it was away. It usually worked, but it was guaranteed. |

Zin's eyes had shifted in the confusion, turning pure red, she suddenly stopped choking, stopped screaming, and simply stared at her hands. A smirk slowly spread across her face, then she looked at Ranewen, an eyebrow raised. "Pardon me...I think I may of had a little too much to-GET OUT!" The girl's eyes were swirling, the normal colour wrestling for control over the red, and the calm look was twisting into a look of horror. The girl seemed to give a double edged howl of pain, it seemed like there were two voices coming from her throat. Her hand flew to her mouth as her throat started to bleed. One of the voices seemed to stop, as tears welled up in the girl's eyes, but the other kept going, the wordless howl seemed to slowly gain substance, words. It seemed to be screaming at the girl, telling her to stop, to stop making the throat bleed, the voice seemed to think that the blood was Zin's idea of a good thing. Zin didn't seem to be having fun at all, and she was trying to stop the voice, her hands clamped firmly over her mouth. |

Ranewen shuddered as she saw the blood and felt very bad for the girl. She pushed Ryu out of the way as she knelt down by her and looked at her throat and then at her covered mouth. Half of the palce was staring at them. She looked up and glared at them and they turned slowly away, casting occasional glances over their shoulders to look at them. Ranewen wished she could just nsap their necks at the moment, but she'd hold that off for a while. "Are you okay?!" Ranewen asked frantically as she looked at the girl's face. Zin. That was her name! It was the girl from the crystal caves! The one she had healed. It only made her more determined to help Zin out. "Let her go..." she muttered angrily, and then said it in a bunch of different languages, including Drow and Elvish. Ryu looked at her and shook his head as he rose to his feet and slowly walked back to his table and sat down. Ignorant fool... she thought and glared over at him in the corner of her eye while his back was turned. Then she looked back down at Zin and wondered why she was covering her mouth. The bards started playing their intruments and telling stories, while performers tried to take the focus off of the fallen girl. Ranewen glanced over at the bartender who didn't care and cussed at him silently. She placed a curse upon his soul and hoped that it would work. he deserved the curse - to become lonely. His family should be lost in a fire. That way, he would suffer depression and loss. He would feel true pain that hit the heart like an arrow pierces through its target. Death is the easy way out for him... sjhe thought as she let her attention go back to Zin. |
