Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Shynthriir was a new bartender at the tavern. He had actually never been to this tavern aside from today. He needed money, and as little as this job paid, money was money.

A glass was in his hand, though clean as it was, Shynthriir never stopped in making it cleaner. He would not want to displease his boss on his first day of bartending.

2 glasses of red wine, one mug of ale, two glasses of red wine, one mug of ale... She repeated it over a few times in her head, making sure that she didn’t forget the order as she moved over to the bar. Upon reaching it she stopped and smiled at the new bartender. She hadn’t been here for too long herself but that didn’t really matter.
“I think you’ve cleaned it enough,” she offered, referring to the glass. Then the order returned to mind and she straightened a little, reminding herself that she was on the job. “I need two glasses of red wine and a mug of ale please,” she added.

Shynthriir put down the glass he was cleaning. It was really clean, and he should have stopped awhile ago, but had nothing else to do; not he did.

"Comming right up," Shynthriir said as he grabbed two glasses for the wine. He placed them side by side on the counter and looked for the bottles of wine. He found the right bottle and quickly poped off the top, soon after pouring the red wine into the glasses. He then reached for a mug, they were hanging below the counter. He grabbed one and place it too on the counter. Then he grabbed a pitcher of ale and poured it into the mug.

A tray was soon underneath the drinks and he handed to Aideen, the barmad. "Here they are. Its a busy night tonight isn't it?" Shynthriir asked her.

She accepted the tray with a smile and a soft thanks before weaving her way back through the crowd to one of the tables, deposited the drinks and then returned to the bar where the set the tray.
“It is busy,” she agreed. “But I’m not sure if it’s like this every night, normally I only work the day shift.” Of course, given her ‘condition’ as she often called it. But then some nights she didn’t change and it was then that she would work, such as tonight.
“I’m Aideen Keelty, what’s your name?” She extended her hand to him in a offer to shake, a warm smile on her face.
