Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Stirred in the bitter sweet silence of his sub-conscience. The annoying howls and hoots of the occupants began to bother him dearly. Thus why he found solitude within his own head, to listen to the idle thoughts that plagued him. Past questions that he brushed off, as living had meant more than simple answers. It seemed he found danger in every direction he went, being human in this mixed world of creatures seemed to always single him out from the rest. It bothered him, but he couldn't let it get to him so easily. Black tendrils of hair scattered across his brow, as his head tilted forward. Frailty seemed to describe the human race amongst these bards. Clatters of weapons reigned out through the noise filled atmosphere, a simple fight it appeared to the eye, "Foolish..." Did alcohol have such an luring state to it, like a vixen in a tight fitting dress, able to manipulate and alter a person to its utter bidding? It apparently seemed so, that or these occupants were rather stupid...Or both. Shoulders shrugged, watching a group of men bash their hands against each others heads in order to get fired up....That or maybe they are trying to knock some sense into each other. A slight chuckle emitted from his parted lips, as he continued to observe these men. The collision of skulls forced a quirked brow, before distorting to a look of worry, as one of the men took a dive upon the ground. Planting his hands down upon the table pushing himself to an erect position.

Right eye twitched a few times, as the man scrambled back to his feet laughing. -What the hell...!? That's no joke. I actually thought he hurt himself.....But he's laughing...Bah....Know what....I should really stop caring...- Slowly shook his head, when he sat back down on his chair. Placed his arms onto the tabletop, burrying his face in his arms. -I feel so stupid....Perhaps I should leave....- A clatter of noise emitted from the general direction of the door. Slowly lifted his head, glancing off to the right only to see the doors gaping state. Rain sprayed in from the outside, dampening the entry of the tavern, -Great...Now I have to worry about people breaking their necks when they come in....- A look of disdain....Helplessness crossed his face, no longer knowing what to do about his current situation.

A distant muffle of noise was heard through the night. Kli ran in, slipping on the water at the entrance and sliding to the counter where the bartender was handing out drinks. She stopped sliding just before she hit the counter. She sighed, using the counter to hoist herself up. She didn't know why, but she always seemed to end up here when it rains. She's always getting stuck here it seems. She didn't care though. She looked around with her blue grey eyes before taking a stool and ordering just a pinch of wine to quench her burning throat. She didn't feel like eating, even though she always looked like skin and bones. She wrung out her black and red hair, waiting for the water. Her boots were again filled with water but she didn't really mind, it was life. She looked at the wine that was placed before her. "Thanks.." She said quietly, putting a coin on the counter. She wore the same thing as always, which is probably why she is defined as weird.

She wore brown boots, a brown cloak, and a white dress soaked with orc blood, mud and filth. She had enough money to buy new and pretty things, but she didn't feel like buying nice clothes that were most likely going to be ruined by the end of the day. She looked at the window, her white stallion staring at her through the window. Kli chuckled, shaking her head lightly and taking a very small sip of the wine. She had started to be paranoid, every few minutes staring out the window. She had this feeling like something was after her again. Sure, her friend Ranewen had helped kill off the orcs, but there could be more comming. She was always into trouble, sometimes making it, but most of the time just trying to fix it. She looked to Xavion before actually taking another sip. Again her thoughts clouded her mind as she watched the quarrel around her.

Aeri was surprised how boorish the crowd seemed to be, mostly men. She had been playing her flute and dancing to her own music, but the taunts of the men had caused her to stop. They didn't belong here, they belonged in the Bloodseal. Glaring down at them from the small stage she planted her sandaled foot straight into one the men's face. He had tried to grab her and she didn't appreciate the gesture. She hoped that the innkeeper would do something about this roaring crowd.

The man clutched his bleeding nose. He seemed to be an angry drunk and began shouting expletives and curses at the willowy girl, who was indifferent to them. "Sir, I am afraid if you don't calm down I will have to ask the innkeeper to make you leave," was her calm response as she stepped down, unable to continue performing under such conditions.

Once on the floor, Aeri gathered her things from the stool in the corner, tucking her flute lovingly into her hip pouch. She was happy she had not brought Cyrrus and Nymbus with her...

She also got her staff, the blades gleaming softly in the firelight of the tavern.

When the man who she had kicked appeared from no where, looking enraged, she was only a little worried. The innkeeper would not allow anything to happen to her, as she was one of the more regular of performers in the city and even if she wasn't, he wouldn't let such behaviour go on in his building.

The huge man raised his hand to smack her, but was too slow. Hastened by a quickly whispered spell, she became a blur of motion, quickly coming close to him and his foul breath where she brought her staff quickly up, the end leading.

His face began bleeding again from a vertical cut that was shallow where the blade grazed him on his cheek.

"I suggest, sir, that you back off," she hissed angrily.

Aeri was only a little aware of the other woman who slid in through the door, slipping on the water tracked in past the threshold and of the man who sat with his hands in his face in the corner.

-Ahh...Entertainment....- The thought brought a mere smile to his face, as he lifted his head up higher to watch the woman perform. And then the man...Such a vulgar man, but he had received what he deserved as the woman planted her foot in his face. Eyes snapped quickly to their immediate right, watching the form skid and slide across the tavern floorboards, coming to a halt near the bar. A light chuckle passed through his parted lips, it hadn't been really funny, but more cute than anything else. That look....The priceless look she had on her face, it had been worth the entire nights suffering with these boarish men. Nodding his head slowly as the woman clambered to her feet, only to bring his attention down to her attire. -This woman seems to like being dirty.....- Crimson hues darted back to Aeri, studying her quick movements from the man's attack and then the quick, but noticeable attack. Such fascination he had with the woman's agility, marveling at her shear velocity with the attack. How would he even be able to contend with enemies if a mere woman was quicker than him? Would that mean his enemies were even quicker than her? -Like I'm supposed to stand a chance against something about double my speed? Bah....- Planted his hands down upon the tabletop, pushing himself to an erect state, his chair sliding across the floorboards and out from underneath his light frame. Sauntered around the table and towards the direction where Aeri and the bard were. Footfalls echoed up from the floorboards as hollow thuds, the heels of his boots coming in contact with the ground at every step he took.

Began to trot slightly, before bursting into an all out sprint towards the man, as he broke his bottle upon the bartop with intentions of using it upon her. As he neared the man, his arm cocked backwards, before jolting forward, digits folding in towards the palm of his hand, exposing the bare knuckles of his fist out to the lower mandible of the man. With a luck shot, his knuckles rocked across the man's lower mandible sending his head sharply to the side. Passed by, as his right foot came down at diagnol fashion, planting itself firmly upon the ground to bring himself to a dead halt just shy of the man. Lowered into a croutch with the continued follow through, as he brought his fist down against the ground, knuckles pressing against the cold floorboards. Brown strands of hair befell across his countenance, shielding the mere features of his visage from their veiw. Idle thuds, seperated by mere seconds, emitted forth from the floorboards, as bone and flesh came in contact with the floor, laying unconsciously in a sprawled position. Remaining stationary within his current position, as his hues shifted around him. Pushed against the floor using his right hand, rocking himself back into an erect stance, "I'm sorry I had to do that....But no one deserves to bleed tonight....."

"And I thought it would just be another boring, terrible, yet depressing night.." She said. "But look.. There's violence too.. Well, that solves it.." She said, partially joking. "There's nothing like a nuetral staring at a fight that wasn't supposed to be, but just happens to be interesting enough to watch wouldn't you say?" She said to the bartender even though he wouldn't really care to answer. She sighed and looked out the window again at the world she couldn't reach. She touched her tatoo on the back of her neck, one you most likely wouldn't notice unless you looked real close. It was of two blades crashing against each other, one side cold wind, and the other molten fire.. At the place were the blades meet were a shadow of something untold. It was only an inch high and in width, and the meaning was so simple it could confuse just about anyone. In a weird language under it it is written 'The one in between'. She took her drink and walked over to the the corner, standing in the shadows.

It was like she was fading away into the shadows, slowly melting into the shadows and soon it was if she wasn't there at all. She was there though, staring into the heart of the middle. She sat down in an empty seat in the corner, you could see her of course, and put a few things down on the table. She had been in a trance lately, heavily laid. She snapped out of it, looking at all the people around her. She smiled so slightly and laid her hand upon her cheekbone, eyes wandering ever so slightly. People have called her weird, strange, but she really didn't mind. Everyone was so strange to her. She looked out the window, her stallion gone. She got up quickly, dashing outside to see where he could've went. She gripped her blade, biting her lip. "Well, this is a suprising change now isn't it?" She said outloud to herself.

-It had taken a few moments for the pain to become present in his hand. With a sudden rush of shockwaves emitted their way up his arm from his knuckles, "Oww....What a hard face....It was almost like hitting a brick wall." Shrugged his shoulders, as his eyes caught movement from the man. Eyes widened in shear horror as the man came to an erect stance, simply toying around with his jaw with a smirk planted upon his visage. Quickly turned towards the doorway, taking off into a patter of footsteps towards the gaping door. -Oh crap! The water!- It had been a moment too late, as he had taken the final stride moments before the thought came to mind. Foot planted itself upon the ground only for a milisecond, before begining its skid across the floorboards, his other foot following close behind. Arms flailed for a moment, trying to grasp the doorframe as he skidded by sliding out onto the ground outside the tavern. His feet caught the graveled path tripping him in a skuttle of lumbering steps before toppling onto his front in the grass, "Oof....." Was all that passed his parted lips, as he began scrambling to get to his feet, quickly turning to face the entrance of the tavern. Almost awaiting the lumbering form that was sure to plague the opening of the tavern, "What the hell is he?" Crimson eyes shifted to the woman standing nearly a few feet from the tavern. Quickly dusted himself, trying to regain his composure from his recent embarrassing moment. Lifted his right hand up to the right side of his forehead, raking his digits throughout the locks of his brown hair, strands befalling in different positions as they passed through his fingers, "Something looks wrong, what's up?" Dropped his arm back to his side, studying the woman for a moment as he waited for her reply.

"Nothing to consern you sir.." She said simply yet quietly. "Probably nothing.." She said. It was probably nothing, she had become paranoid lately and there was a chance it was just her imagination becoming carried away once again. She dashed off to the stables quickly but quietly. She barged in and looked for the stallion who looked to be hers. She really didn't own a horse, but the horse seemed to follow her wherever she went. She looked around, finally finding the horse. She chuckled at herself. "I guess the stable boy got you first hasn't he? Well, don't eat too much now.. I'll have to pay for it, and it's supposed to be for a rainy day.." She winked at the horse and tosed a coin to the stable boy before slowly going into the tavern once more. She looked around the room, most of the people just ignoring her as always. She seemed to like it though, no one knowing, no one to pity you.

She walked back to her seat to find her things missing. She closed her eyes and gritted her teeth. "Who took my things?" She growled, eyes opening to look at the people who now had gone suddenly deadly quiet. "Who took them?" She said, not showing any expression on her face. "Now.. If you give it back now there won't be any trouble.. I don't like trouble.. I don't like people to take my stuff and get away with it either.." Kli's blue grey eyes flashed a darker shade of grey as she tried not to get angry. She stared everyone down before stopping at a man who seemed very nervous. She walked up to him, punched him, and started to take her things back. When the man got mad it wasn't that hard to stare him down until he stopped. It was one of those mind tricks people would do, stare down people until their subconsious do the right thing. "Thank you.." She muttered, putting the stuff down on the table as the crowd started to go back to normal.
