| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Ranewen shook her head in anger, groaning and cussing at the dragon. She had just woken up not too long ago and by where she and Renor had slept, and woke up to find no Renor! She sighed heavily once again and began to trudge a long the path back to the peak. "Renor, when I get my hands on you, you'll be a dead, un-tamed dragon!" she shoited out loud, wondering if he could hear her. She knew he was definately not Ryu, or else the sleeping bag would have been rolled out. Ryu was his human form, which he could turn into whenever he wished to or felt it needed. "Damn shadow dragons.. I'll wring your neck, Renor!" she theatened. Her voice echoed, but she heard nothing. It was absolute complete silence. She grunted once again and sat down in the middle of the path. She leaned back on her elbows and looked up at the sky. All of a sudden, she heard a twig snap and she jumped up and whirled around. She looked into the brush and got ready to draw one of her blades. But she didn't know where it was coming from! She turned around in circles, soon enough getting herself dizzy. She shook her head and stepped backwards a few steps, almost falling a couple of times. She thought it was the dragon, but she was definately worng. She would have seen the dragon's head over the brush. But she hadn't, so it couldn't have been him. But who was it? "Who's there?" she said outloud in a loud enough voice for anyone around to hear her. She kept on turning around, this time, not so fast. She didn't need to fall down if it were an orc or an enemy of some sort. With her luck, it was probably her worst nightmare. Then again, she didn't have a nightmare. Dream-wise, that is. |

Oppel had been exploring the Dragon Spine Mountains, after being told by Karigne of the High druids that his new dragon waited for him there. One sundown had passed since his arrival in the mountains, but he felt no fatigue whatsoever. He was excited to meet his new companion, but was aware of the challenge ahead. It was a hellfire dragon, and he had read about their agressiveness. Oppel could not bring an untamed, fire-breathing, and cerainly threatening dragon back to the forest, and he was aware that he might be away from his temple for some time. He walked through some of the forestry that covered the mountains, but there was still no sign of the dragon. Much ground was travelled, but it seemed as if Oppel was going to look a little harder. With his new staff in hand, he used it as a walking stick to take some force off of his feet, which alone didn't seem to hurt as of yet. As Oppel was behind a bush, he must've stepped on a twig as he heard a snapping noise from below. He then heard a female's voice, and raised his staff in case of an attack. In a defensive state, he walked out from behind the bushes, and saw a familiar face infront of him. He smirked, and lowered his staff. "Hello Ranewen, a nice day for the trip to the mountains isn't it?" He remembered meeting Ranewen back at his temple, and though his attitude seemed to be different around new people he met, it hadn't seemed to change much around friends. But it was probably a good thing that she was in the Dragon Spine Mountains at the time. Maybe she had seen something, or heard something. He was anxious to find his new dragon, but could put the search off for a minute while he talked. |

She sighed in relief as she saw who it was. "Hello, Oppel. You startled me..." She then smiled and looked around. "May I ask what brings ou up here into the Dragonspine Mountains?" she asked, a curious look sweeping across her face. She wodnered where Renor could possible be in this godfrosaken mountain range. She hated it now that hse had to walk towards it once more! SHe was almost able to get him out of the Mountains, but she had to go and beleive him and let him run off. Before giving him time to answer or ask the same question, she stated, "I'm searching for an un-tamed, damned Shadow Dragon. I'm going to wring his neck when I find that stupid little... I mean... Big dragon..." She paused before deciding to give him a reason. "I was bringing him back with me, I had his word and a promise, but when I woke up, the damned thing was gone! And now, here I am, going back in here again looking for the stupid thing..." Where are you?! she shouted in her mind, but knew she would get no response. She let herself relax, and she looked at the new weapon in his hands. She nodded towards it, acknowledging it. "Have you gone under some... sort of change since I have last talked to you?" she asked. She had gone under many different changes. She could tell him of none of them, though. A killer performance... Literally... I'll bet he'd be amused by that, eh? she thought to herself and smirked. She then came back in to the real world and looked at him, crossing her arms - instead of the front - in the back, resting her forearms against her spine. |

Oppel smirked again as he lowered his staff to his side. He listened as she explained why she was in the Dragon Spine Mountains, and couldn't help but laught a little at the fact that they were both here looking for dragons. Which of course she didn't know yet. "Ah yes, dragons can be a handful!" He said rather dishonestly. Thinking back to Malorn and how he couldn't remember having any real problems with the Silver Dragon. Malorn was certainly one of the best companions he had, and was sad at the fact that he wouldn't be able to see him for some time. Not wanting to think about Malorn all to much he quickly spoke again, "I'm here under directions of Karigne of the High Druids. She informed me that I'd be able to find a new dragon here, and I've had absolutely no luck. I am however, looking forward to meeting my new companion" He noticed Ranewen look down at his staff, and listened as she asked him a question. Smirking, he responded "Well, actually I have. I'm not quite sure how to explain it though. After the death of Malorn, it's obvious to many that I haven't been the same person. Both physically and mentally. The High Druids were aware of this, and for some reason they promoted this change in me. Though I'm not quite sure of it, some others seem to be." |

She listened to him and nodded her head every once in a while. "I thought i could sense something.. different about you. I'm not sure what, though. Perhaps you are still in a mourning state and have freed yourself partially from what you were, if you understand what I mean." She shrugged her shoulders, not quite sure of what she meant by that. "You have come looking for something in these mountains as well, eh?" she asked rhetorically. "Well, if you want, I'll come and help you, or just come a long. Perhaps we'll come across my lovely dragon friend..." she growled sarcastically. She wheeled around towards where she was heading, and then turned back towards Oppel. She then turned back around as if in a silent way telling him to follow her. She walked through the bushes a bit and then sat herself down on the ground. She was sitting by an imprint of a dragon's foot. "Perhaps, this would help us in some way?" she asked and traced the outline of it with her finger. She sat there, as if she were waiting for hours for him to follow. She looked up at the sky after that to study the weather. It seemed liek it wasn't going to rain or anything, as the sky was a clear, light blue. The sun was high in the sky, its beams maknig Ranewen slightly sweat. It warmed the air, which was not so good. She would rather the air be cooler, than warm, for it would be tiring to walk in the sun and sweat a lot. Soon enough, she'd be thirsty and nowhere near any water. "I can live without it for a short while..." she muttered to herself. |
