| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Lamya sat in her favorite corner of the Bloodseal Tavern. It was her way of appearing reclusive while actually hunting the tavern for someone to steal from. She never grew tired of this activity. She waited quietly and only ordered a glass of red wine when the waitress insisted on it. Surveying the large room, she saw the normals and a few odd looking people about. None that sparked her interest. For awhile she played with her thieves tools. Her cloak was lying upon her chair. She rarely took it off and the only times she did, was when she was trying to attract some helpless fool to her so that she could perhaps take his gold. She brushed her hair out of her eyes and licked her blue lips. -Where are the good people tonight?- She ordered another drink from the obnoxious barmaid. When it was brought to her, she handed the barmaid a shinny gold piece. -I'm going to get that back- She thought sadly as she watched it move further and further away. |

Seele sat in a booth at the Bloodseal, sipping his drink slowly. His various spies had reported in throughout the night; some interesting things had been revealed. Now he was just relaxing... he closed his eyes, and almost immediately felt a small hand slip into his pocket. He grinned and his own hand closed liek a steel clamp on the small human's wrist. "Good thing I keep my own money in secret pockets, eh thief?" The little amn squirmed and cursed, then drew a small blade and made to stab at Seele, but stopped when a scythe blade appeared at his throat. "Smart. Now, to teach you a lesson, put everything you've stolen tonight on my table." the thief looked at him furiously before doing so; a small heap of gold and other valuable objects appeared. "Good boy." He twirled the scythe around, knocking the man in the head and knocking him out, then leaning back again, eyeing the small pile in front of him. "Nice..." He grinned and threw a coin to the barmaid, who giggled and made sure to step on the thief as she walked by, and scooped the rest in his pockets. he would give it to the library when he returned, or perhaps use it to buy more spies... |

Something caught Lamya's eye. She stared at the unexpierenced thief that tried to take from a man sitting at a booth. "How ignorant." She sighed and turned her attention elsewhere. -It's people like this, these humans, that give us expierenced theives a bad name. Really now they must be taught the art, the perfection, of thievery!- This always boiled Lamya's blood. She couldn't stand those that so easily made a fool of themselves. Granted, when she was younger she was caught many times but now she was a professional. She decided to move closer to the man since she figured he must have alot of money if he had put it in a 'secret' pocket. Taking her drink, she walked over to a nearby booth. She decided to engage him in conversation while she surveyed his clothes closer. "Hello fine sir. That was so brave of you!" She offered her hand. "My name is Lamya. May I inquire as to what yours is?" |

Seele smiled at her cooly. "You just did. My name is Seele, Lady Lamya. And it wasn't brave at all." He shrugged, waving a hand to offer her a seat at the booth. "He was obviously unexperienced; only idiots try to pickpocket in a bar. No, in a bar you either knock them out, trick them, or kill them. Pickpocketing is for the streets." Seele smiled again; he had resorted to thievery after being banished, and had learned quickly with his quick reflexes. "May I ask what brings a Lady as yourself to this little, dark place Lamya?" He flipped out a small gold coin and threw it in the air, catching it deftly, and playing with it, the gold of the coin matching his eyes as he watched her. "Only those with... shadowy business need come to a place such as this." |

Lamya's eyes glazed over as she watched the coin. It hit the light and shinned right into her eyes. It took all her will power and self-control not to snatch the coin and run. "I am uh here because it is the best place to hide in a corner for a drink. It's dark and dank just like I like it." She stared at the man closely trying to keep her eyes off the coin. "And what are you doing her sir Seele?" Her eyes kept drifting back and forth. At one point she realized she was drooling. -How unladylike.- She found that thought funny but hide her giggles as she took a sip of her red wine. |

Seele smiled. "I am one of those with shadow business, Lady Lamya..." He grinned and, noticing her interest in the gold, flicked it across the table at her. She's a thief I bet. Do you ever shut it? I bet she's a very nice and honest person. Not really. And then why would she be here? Ok, shut up now. Let me kill her... No. Damn you... Seele sighed and drummed his fingers on his scythe, which he had rested in his lap. It was getting harder and harder to control it... He smiled and looked up at Lamya. "Well, if you just need a drink I would suggest the Elfsong, a better place than here. This swill they call drink is awful." |

Lamya reached out her grubby hands and clasped the gold in her palm. Remembering her plan, she flicked it back at him. "Lose something." She smiled innocently at him. -He is becomming a pain. Why does everyone have to make things so hard? He might as well just hand the gold over. Hmmm unless he's knows of a better way I can get gold.- She stared at him trying to determine if he was one like her. "So what kind of buisness are you talking about?" She hoped that was enough of a hint. -He's obviously got something on his mind. I bet he has alot of gold stored up...- Her mind began to wonder as she thought of the delicious shinny gold. |

Seele shrugged. "Mostly information. Money for information and vice versa..." He picked up the coin again, spinning it on one finger before putting it in his pocket. I'm gonna laugh when she robs you blind. Shut up. Why? It's true. I can take care of myself. Just make sure you can. I don't want my host to die. I'll remember that. Seele looked her over discreetly. She appeared to be thinkign about something else. He shrugged and finished his drink. "Depending on what you know you can get rich..." He shrugged, pulling down the brim of his hat a bit. |

Lamya tried to think of what she would know that someone would actually buy. "Hmm this sounds interesting. If you wouldn't mind could I tag along. I swear I'll be good." She put on her most flirtasious smile.-Gold gold gold gotta get the gold-She was becomming obsessive. If she didn't satisfy her thirst for gold soon, she would end up killing someone and robbing them blind. "I am in dire need of gold. My uh mother is dying and we need money to pay for her medical supplies." -Good. That was good. Thinking on your feet. Good girl. Don't hint your true self.- She gave a sad look and stared off. -Yes this should get him. Gold gold gold.- |

Seele eyed her nervously; she had an almost crazed look in her eye. Ignoring the mind calls of SHE'S A THIEF DAMMIT, he smiled. "Sure. But can you take care fo yourself? My informants are a little... rough. And here comes one now." A tall man, looking unaturally thinm with the cloak around him, was heading towards their table. |

Lamya hid a smirk as she watched the odd man walking up. "Yes I can handle myself. And if I can't, I have a big, strong man to look after me." She wanted to gag over her last statement. -Yea he is quite handsome, but the day I leave my life in the hands of a man, is the day I will already be dead.- She observed the man coming towards them. -He doesn't seem so threatening. Bet I could take him.- She looked over at Seele. "You look a bit nervous. Am I reading you wrong?" |

he leaned across the table and whispered. "Most the time demon's make me nervous. Don't comment on his face." he leaned back and smiled at the man, who stopped standing over the table. "Welcome Arkanaskranan." His tongue easily slid out the complex name, eyes looking at the demons. "Master Seele..." the man sat down next to the golden eyes elf, hood still covering his face. He drew it back, eyes looking at Lamya curiously. His face was little more than a skull. Bits of skin hung off of the golden bone, hair drooping from his head. His eyes were little more than sockets burning with an fire that seemed to be on the inside of his skull. There was a huge gap in the middle of hsi forehead which was smoking, his death grin revealing silver fangs. "I did not know that you had a female here as well. A relationship, perhaps?" Seele shook his head. "No, she onyl wanted to be here for a little bit. See what I do." He drew out a small black book from an inner pocket, noticing the demons eyes go to it greedily. "THis all for you, my friend? When I received the summons..." He locked eyes with the demon, letting him know no one summoned him. "...I brought this here. I have several copies. What can you give me in return?" The demons eyes flared with flames, his hands on the table starting to burn the wood. "what is it that you want? information from your own world, perhaps?" Seele glanced across at Lamya. "Actually, my... associate here has need of money. Ask her, and I will see if her price is sufficient for the item." he clasped both hands over the book asd the demons flaming eyes met Lamya's. |

Lamya stared at the demon in disbelief. Then the words of Seele came back to her, "Don't comment on his face." She kept her lips sealed. She listened very intently while they exchange words. -So I'm to ask him something I need to know.- She thought about what she really wanted to know. -What I really want to know is where the secret treasure of Talas is. But if I ask that I will give myself away. What's the one thing I could ask that wouldn't show my true self....- She smiled sweetly at the demon. She could tell that really angered him. "I wish to know the location of the lost city. I would just love to take a trip there and see the mystical beings I have heard so fondly of." She stared right into the eye sockets of the demon. -How does he see me?- She turned to Seele. "Is that a sufficent question for the amount you are paying for?" She winked at him. "If we find where it tis, maybe you and I could take a little journey." -I'm going to need muscle if I'm going there. And since he will be the only other being besides this demon that knows where the location will be, I might just have to kill him. I will steal all the gold from the lost city and become the richest 'lady' in Imythess!- She could hear her evil voice cackling inside her head. It took all of her strength not to laugh out loud. |

Seele raised an eyebrow at her. "I thought you needed gold for your mommy..." He shook his head and turned back to the demon. "That is our price. Do you have the needed information?" "Lost city..." He hissed, eyes looking At Lamya intensely. "There are things in this world you should not disturb, female. hat is one of them." He looked at Seele, who started to put the book back away. "No! I will tell her... and you will both regret it when you come to my realm." The demon put his fingers on Lamya's forehead, whispering to himself. I speak to your mind female... this is the path. Pay attention, and do not blame me when you die... He grinned, and let the information seep througbh his fingers directly into her mind. ((ooc: you get to choose where the city is and everything... no idea...)) |

Lamya's mind tumbled back into reality and she fell upon the ground. For a moment she could not speak. Then she whispered two words. "I know."
