| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

This far through the Calmonah Forest, more than half-way from the City of Talas, trees lined the banks of the Lake beside Carlos Dementa. Mostly willows, their leafy branches made a shady canopy over the water near the bank. Summer was not far off, and the sun was climbing towards midday, yet here in the shadows a soft breeze made Carlos’s sweat cool on his skin, pausing on the bank, Carlos decided to go deeper into the forest and escape the safety of the lake, he grinned at his own bravery and made his way towards the forest. Born below the ever cloud-capped peaks that gave the mountains there name, the wind blew east, out across the hills among the Calmonah Forest. The wind started to beat at the young man, causing his cloak to start to billow; he sighed worriedly and quickened his pace. A pair of sky blue eyes shone brightly, casting an odd light among the now dark forest. Carlos shivered and quickened his pace, he thought quietly about casting a spell to lessen the winds, but he shook his head and made his way through the path he had never taken before. A creature quietly made its way towards the scent of Carlos Dementa, its blood thirsty red eyes glaring at the footprints of the young man, the troll grunted and started jogging, trying to keep itself warm, it grunted again, and froth starting to appear in its mouth. A strong wind whipped against the troll and caused it to tumble backwards; it let out a massive screech that erupted around the forest. Carlos heard the screech and started running, recognising the screech that had come from the troll, the same kind that had come from when they had attacked his village and terrorized his people, his eyes darkened but he knew he was no match for the troll, and he was exhausted trying to keep himself warm. Carlos heard a branch snap beside him, but he ignored it and sprinted ahead, not knowing where he was going. The troll was right behind Carlos, it’s dark red eyes opening wide at the discovery that it would receive blood that night, the young man was starting to run away, and managing to escape his ruthlessness, the troll screamed impatiently and trudged behind him, smirking as the young man bled on his leg because of a sharp branch which he had fallen on. Carlos managed to cast the wind control spell, giving the troll a blast of wind that made it tumble back wards again, he manage a soft smile, but his lip started to crack, his hands turning freezing cold, Carlos was on the edge of his limits, hating that fact, he sped up, managing to run quicker and quicker, even though he was losing his strength too quickly for his own good. The troll smiled widely, knowing that the young man was about to give up and faint on the spot, with a triumphant roar he sped up, making the distance between him and his preys lessen. Carlos fell on the ground, gasping for breath, his eyelids closing slowly, “No.” He managed to whisper, just before he fainted. |

(Sorry it’s so short…) N ear where the man had fallen, a Shadowdancer stood, nearly invisible, in the shadows. She stepped out and muttered a few words as the troll came closer and closer. She smirked and released the spell, which summoned a demonic being. Don’t let this troll live… she thought as the demon began battling with the troll. Ranewen’s gaze shifted to the fallen sorcerer and she made her way over to him and knelt down. She sighed angrily and grabbed underneath his arms and began to pull him away from the battle scene, which the troll seemed to lose. Once she had him in the shadows, she was nearly invisible again. With a frustrated sigh, she began to look him over for any serious wounds. She then stepped back and looked over towards the troll. She summoned her injured demonic being back and moved in to kill the troll herself. She took out on oe her fighting knives and jumped quietly up onto a tree’s branch. She looked down at the troll’s neck as it turned away and she jumped from the tree, her knife pointing down. Once she had injured him greatly, she retreated back to the shadows and waited for the troll to depart – if it ever would. Ranewen’s gaze went back to the man near her knee. “Are you all right?” she asked, not sure if he could hear her or not. She placed two of her fingers on his neck, feeling for a pulse. When she got one, she sighed in relief. At least I didn’t come too late… she thought as she looked at the injured troll, who was angrily searching for the two. But, his anger seemed to blur his vision and he stumbled and fell. |
