Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Seele waited for a while, until another man inn a cloak sat down across from him. "Took you long enough. You're late." Seele glared at the man. "Why?"

"I had some... business to take care of." The man stared at Seele with black eyes, devoid of warmth. "You might have tricked me into serving you, but that does not mean you control all my actions, Blighter."

Seele smiled cooly at that name he had only recently learned of. "Blighter I may be, but I still beat you. Now, give me the information if you have it."

The man snarled and handed across a small tome, grabbing a cup of 'red' wine from a passign barmaid, who shrugged and got another. "There you go, scholar. It's unreadable." He drained the glass in one gulp. "Am I dismissed yet?"

"Not unreadable." Seel grinned as his golden eyes flashed, reading the first page before being satisfied and putting it in his pocket. "Good job. It's really too bad you don't do this willingly. You are dismissied."

The cloaked figure snarled and reached across, long nails grabbing Seele's cloak. "Next time we duel, I will win, and you shall serve ME instead, worm." the man grinned, sharp teeth showing. "Goodbye." He disappeared ina cloud of black smoke.

Seele shrugged and looked across the room again towards the lady from earlier, who had been joined by another, then pulled the rim of hsi hat down lower and stood up. gathering his cloak around him, he started walking towards the barkeeper, scythe at his side. Most people moved out of his way as he walked by, approaching the table with the two ladies on the way to the front.

Ranewen saw him approach the table and she looked up from her gaze with Selena. She smiled lightly at him and nodded her head in greeting, while she said in a low voice, "Hello."

She took another sip of the ale and soon enough, the glass was cempty. Not fully empty, for there were drops of ale still in it. The barmaid came back over and she handed Ranewen what she had asked for before. The "red" wine. She flipped up a coin and let the barmaid catch it.

She stared at the drink for a while and suddenly, seeming no harm in doing it, she took a sip of it. She honestly wouldn't have been able to tell the difference if she hadn't known what the "red" wine actually was. Well, at least I didn't spit it out all on poor Selena... she thought and nearly laughed at herself.

She looked back over at Seele and noticed the scythe at his side. Her hand instantly went to her fighting knives and she left them there, jsut in case he meant harm to them. Her expression showed no sign of fear whatsoever, but just in case he flung it in her direction, she could most likely parry the blow. She'd most likely be thrown from her seat, but at least she wouldn't have to let everyone know her secret.

Seele smiled at her. "Hello."

I sense a shadow power that rivals our own... stop here Seele!
I do not dwell in shadows.
How else could you of created me?
A mistake.
Too bad for you.

Seele was curious though; someone whp's darkness impressed even his shadow demon? He stopped at the table and smiled warmly, the scythe disappearing in his robes. "Hello ladies. Do you mind if I join you?" He raised an eyebrow at the drinks they had; blood wasn't the most commone drink, even in this tavern.

"Go ahead," Ranewen said and nodded to a chair between her and Selena. She let go of her fighting knife and let her hands rest in her lap. She shot a glance over towards Selena and seemed to smirk in her own silent way. She then reached up and took a sip of blood and then placed it back on the table. She looked over at the dancers once again and got disgusted by them and looked right away. "Disgusting beings... They should die. They will die. One day soon." An evil smirk danced upon her lips and she nodded her head towards one giving a man a lap dance. She then glanced down at her side at her many weapons and then back up at the lady. "Wench..." the woman said silently, her voice flooded out by the drunks. But Ranewen knew what she had said, and it enraged her a lot. She just shook her head and smirked and down the rest of her blood. Using telekinesis, she lifted the glass up and threw it at her, hitting the woman in the head, knocking her out and casuing her to fall on the floor. She instantly looked away and smirked.

Seele grinned into his mug; he had felt the surge of power. "We all must make a living in h way we see... most fit. But I agree on them being disgusting..." He sat down in the chair, ordering another mug of ale from the barmaid; he didn't feel like drinking blood. Ever. He took a small sip of the drink and flipped the barmaid a small gold coin, then took the small book he received earlier out of his pocket. He looked at the timeworn pages and opened it carefully, muttering to himself as he read.

Seele... seele... let me out Seele. Someone with dark powers like heres can't live with us int his world...
Shut up, I'm trying to translate this
One day I'll get my chance at her...
Yeah, jsutr keep saying that to yourself over and over again...

"That's no way to make a living. By being a whore? A seductive dancer?" She shuddered at the thought of doing those things for money. "I'll make their lives better where they can live in a world without having to do that." She looked at the book he was looking at for a moment before looking down at her glass. She took another sip of it and then put the glass down again. She sighed lightly and leaned her elbow on the table, looking around at the others, ignoring the woman who had called her a wench. At least I have a life, she thought and smirked to herself as she looked down at the table instead of around the Tavern.

Seele looked up at her, golden eyes dull. "There are much worse things you cna do than that. Judgement is not that easy to reap, or else no one would make mistakes."

Oh, you clever philosopher you
Shut it.
Much worse things? like destroy a land and leave the people without their god?
Like kill a stupid shadow demon?
I'm part of you. You can't.
I will one day.

Seele looked up at Ranewan and smiled. "I don't mean to sound harsh. It's just sometimes, we have no options, and we must do what we msut do." He returned to the book, eyes flicking through the ancient writing quickly.

Ranewen smirked when he said he didn't mean to sound harsh. She then stated, "Sevir lodias xuileb natha delmah xor fol vel'klar ulu shar'tleg. Elgg ril vassnti aterruce wun dosst i'dol. Folbol saph nindel." She didn't want anybody to know what she had said. But maybe he knew Drow. If he did, she was in trouble. BUt perhaps he wasn't a goodie-goodie like other people were. She was one to hold grudges easily. Yet she was only evil to those who shunned her away for being different and those who tried to anger her. To her friends, like Selena, she would do anything for them, even put her life in danger.

((She said: Leave people without a home or some where to turn. Kill every innocent creature in your way. Something like that.))

Seele smiled cooly. Being a scholar, he knew most of the languages of Imythess, and knew Drow quite well. "Talinth mzild myar." He pushed his drink aside, looking at her with his strange golden eyes. "Elgg jal nindel zhah bwael. Jal nindel dron wun dosst menvis. T'yin dos orn inbal ussta ramak." He fingered the blade of his scythe, suddenly sad. "Plynn nindel uss unboi mzild: t'yin elgg vel'bol zhah mzilst bwael lueth tlu cha'kohkev mal'rak. er'griff t'yin orn dos zhaun ussta jiv'undus." This last phrase he said very softly, not knowing or caring if she heard.

((Think worse.
Kill all that is good. All that lives in your path. Then you will have my sins.
Take that one step more: then destroy what is most pure and be cursed forever... only then will you know my pain...

This is a rough translation, doesn't mean exactly this but oh well))

Her face went balank and she cussed in french. "Merd..." She shook her head and sighed lightly. Now she had no way of being able to talk to herself without someone knowing what she was saying. "Dos inbal jiv'undus ichl? Usstan xun izil al. Usstan zhahus cha'kohkev h'uena. Natha errdegahr. Uk zhahus elggat vel'drav Usstan tois whol lil drada draeval. Quin Usstan, inbal ulu dro biu naut-elghinyrr dro wun vel'bolen Usstan shlu'ta naut el. Usstan daewl ulu ehmtu natha dhyn dro, jhal Usstan shlu'ta naut. Ol kluthak ulu tlu naut'shinder." She looked into his Golden eyes, for a minute becoming lost and not paying attention to what was around her. She then shook her gaze and ripped her attention away from his eyes and looked down at the table.

((You have pain too? I do as well. I was cursed once. A demon. He was destroyed when I died for the second time. Yet I, have to live an undead life in which I can not die. I wish to own a mortal life, but I can not. It seems to be forbidden.))

"Elggor orn'la tlu alur taga nindol p'leik. Jhal Usstan inbal xund ulu xun. Usstan shlu'ta naut el quin." He smiled sadly, then shook his head. "But that's enough about all that. We have yet to introduce ourselves. I am Seele, scholar and mage."

((Dying would be better than this suffering. But I have work to do. I can not die yet.))

"Ranewen," she said plainly. She wouldn't give herself away too easily. Again, she caught herself staring into her eyes and she rapidly shook her head and looked back over at Selena. Then at the dancers. Tonight... she thought and smirked in the direction of one of the dancers. Take your last breaths and cherish them forever, whore. She resisted her urge to laugh, but a smirk danced upon her face.

Seele nodded to her, slipping the book in his pocket again. It's secrets could wait to be revealed. "Nice to meet you Ranewan." He noticed a sneer on her face and waited until she turned away to glance at where she had been looking.

The dancers?
She has something planned...
You're a pain to live with
Then let me kill you so I have complete control
Uh-huh. No.
Dang you mortal...

Seele smiled and watched Ranewan carefully, golden eyes calculating...

Ranewen then turned her gaze from the dancers, her smirk slowly falling back into its straight line. "A pleasure to meet you, too. I like your eyes..." she added and smiled, looking at them again. Just something about them made her get lost so easily. But, she shrugged it off mentally and looked away once again as the barmaid came back to refill her glass of blood, which was called Red Wine here. She took a sip of it again and put it back on the table.

Seele's smile slipped from his face for a second. "I don't." He rubbed his eyes, the smile on his face again, almost as if it was a mask. "But to each their own." He looked at the red wine curously, wondering for a second where they got the blood from, and then decided he was better off not knowing. He pulled his scythe out, and ran a finger along the blade absentmindedly, then frowned. Not sharp enough. He took out a small whetstone and began running it along the blade quickly and silently.
