| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Ranewen had heard of a new tavern in Talas, so she had decided to go and see what it was like. When she opened the door, the first thing she smelled was the smoke in the air, mixed with the alocohol. Next, she looked towards a small stage, which had dancers, dancing seductively. She hsrugged it off and made her way to an empty table in the corner, farthest away from anybody around and farthest away from the stage. Sighing, she leaned her elbow on the table and someone came over and asked what she had wanted. "I don't care. Anything. Anything with alocohol..." She watched the waitress walk off to get her something to drink and she looked around the tavern curiously, wanting to see who was there besides her. |

Once again Lilith's curiousity had gotten the better of her. She had heard of the new tavern when she worked at Elfsong Tavern. She wore her purple cloak with the hood covering her head. She wasn't sure if she wanted to be spotted in a place like this. She scanned the room quickly and hid her face. She made her way over to Ranewen. She sat a few chairs down to make sure that Ranewen wasn't meeting anyone. Lilith really didn't want to get in the way of some buisness thing if that was what was happening. She didn't care if Ranewen was up to no good. It really wasn't her buisness right? Finally Lilith could take the suspense no longer. She scurried her way to the chair next to Ranewen. Taking her hood off, she brushed down her hair. "Ranewen. It's me Lilith." She whispered. "What are you doing here? I mean if you're meeting someone I can leave you be..." Lilith nervously glanced around. "This place is pretty creepy. Oh what did you order to drink?" She waved the bartender down. "I'll have whatever this lady next to me is having." Then she turned her face towards Ranewen. "I heard about this place when I was working at Elfsong Tavern." Noticing the dancers, Lilith made a umph sound. "Well that's classy..." |

Seele walked into the tavern, hat pulled down low over his face. The smell of alcohol was almost overwhelmign here. he went up to the bar and ordered a glass of wine. When the barkeeper handed it to him, he took a gulp and regretted it. It tasted like shoe polish. "Is everything here this bad?" He spat it back in the cup. "Pretty much." the barkeep poliched with a dirty rag, making a glass dirtier. "What's the list of the bad stuff?" "Too many to name. "The good stuff?" "Ale is about it." The barkeep drew a tap of ale and handed it to Seele. "Won't charge you. Just give me the wine; I can reuse it. "I spat in it." Can't hurt it any more, can it?" Seele shrugged and handed over the cup, taking his mug. He took a small drink. It wasn't good, but not as bad as the wine was. He shrugged again and pulled the cloak tighter around him, keeping one hand on his scythe underneath it, and walking away from the satge and sitting down in a shadowy booth, golden eyes watching everyone in the bar. |

Ranewen smiled at the fairy and nodded her head. "I had heard rumours about this place... And, well, I came here to check it out." She nodded her head and ignored the dancers. "It doesn't seem good at all. But, I can deal with it. Elfsong won't want me in there. Ya know that fire that they said that three people made and then there was a fight between two of them? Well, yeah, that was me in there." She shrugged her shoulders and felt eyes upon her for only a moment. Her gaze shot up, wondering if someone was watching her. Her eyes saw only Seele's looking at her for a moment, but he seemed to be watching everyone in the bar. She could only see part of the gold color of his eyes. She smiled slightly, to show him that she wasn't an assassin, looking to kill him or anything. Actually, she couldn't be killed. Well, there was a way, but that way she would never tell anyone. Soon enough, the barmaid came back with some sort of... mystery drink. The barmaid spoke, "I got you some ale, I hope you don't mind. Nothing else in here is good enough. But the drunks here... They can't tell a dragon from a pebble." Ranewen laughed slightly at the barmaid's sarcasm and she nodded and thank you, and pushed Lilith's glass over towards her as the barmaid walked away. |

Seele returned Ranewan's smile, waving away the barmaid who came over and again sipping his ale. A drunk staggered over to eh table with a knife in hand. "Hi there point earsh. Your eyesh are real pretty Like gold. I need shome gold." He grinned, the scent of stale ale making Seele wince. "GImme the gold." He then tried to take out Seele's eyes with the knife. Seele sighed as he missed completely and lodged the knife deep in the wood of the booth. "I would gladly trade you eyes if it meant the curse on these ones would leave. he snapped the butt end of the scythe up, the metal rod cracking against the drunks chin. He fell back onto his companions table, who all laughed uproasously and drank some more. Seele shook his head and pulled the hat down lower, hiding his eyes, and set the scythe on the table close to hand,t he blade gleaming oddly. |

Lilith sipped on her ale while watching the commotion. She turned to Ranewen and noticed she had been looking at the man who was being attacked. "Do you know that man? He has very lovely eyes." She grinned as the man beat the drunken one."I just don't understand why people allow themselves to become drunken fools! It is a good way to get killed. I will be right back." Lilith walked over to the drunken man. "Here sir, allow me to escort you out." She grabbed him by the arm roughly. "Hey whash the deal.Getsh your grubby hands offsh me you little... little..." Then the man passed out. "Oh that's lovely." She turned to the man with the gold eyes. "Would you mind helping me out here?" She grabbed the passed out man under the arm and heaved him onto a stool. "Wow he is incrediably heavy. Why oh why do people do this to themselves." She kept ranting about the effects of being drunk. She realized what she was doing and appologized. "I'm so sorry.I'm a bit on the edgy side tonight and I talk when I'm edgy." She leaned in close to the man. "This place is a tad creepy don't ya think?" |

Lamya hid in the darkest corner she could find. She had her black hood covering her face. Her blue eyes stood out amongst the darkened shadows of her face. She licked her blue lips. -Who shall be my victim tonight?- She was excited to be in this new, dark tavern. She could almost smell the gold coins hiding in the pockets of the drunken men. She looked up on stage and watched the girls dance. -I would do whatever it takes for money...except that.- Lamya thought. She glared in their direction. Men were ogling them and throwing gold upon the stage. Lamya's eyes widened. -How delicious that gold looks.- A man stumbled up to her and asked for a dance. She smiled her cold, dismissing smile but the man did not leave. "For your own good you should leave this tavern immediately." She hissed at the man. His pupils dilated in fear and he quickly ran away. "Men are horrid creatures." She whispered to the air. |

Selena had been the first to enter the dark, dusty tavern. She had sat herself down near to the fireplace which was roaring and giving off a lot of heat. One time the golden flames reached such a high point that they almost set her cloak on fire. But luckily she was a fire diviner and knew very well how to make her clothes very resistant. She smiled as some flames tickled her feet. She rolled up one of her sleeves and made a suspicious movement with her right. With one wave the flames drew back into the fireplace. She smiled, putting the silver to her lips. As she took a little sip of the red wine, the alias for blood, she felt a warm glow come over her, filling her up entirely. 'The sign outside is right. They reallly do have the best 'red wine' in town...' She grinned at her own joked, only to find there was someone watching her. She lowered her hood to be able to see who was foolish enough to be doing that. |

Ranewen was the one looking at Selena, a smile slightly on her face. She was one of Bahamut's Chosen - a Saidin of Flames, but she didn't know how to do something like that. She sighed enviously and then saw that Lilith needed some help in carring this overweighted man out. As she rose, she heard something in her ears. Men are horric creatures. She nodded in agreement and she grabbed the man's feet. She was just in front of Seele and she almost felt like eyes were burning in her back. But she dared not to glance back in fear that it wasn't him just watching what they were doing, but someone wanting to rid her. Of course, why should she be afraid? If they stabbed her fifty-three times, she still wouldn't be dead. Fifty-four wouldn't kill me either... They can puncture me as much as they want, but it is nearly impossible for me to die. Unless... her thoughts trailed off for a moment as she looked up to Lilith. "Ready to get this man out of here?" she asked and smirked, getting ready to lift him up. |

Selena stared through the unclear darkness of the tavern, straight into Ranewen's eyes. Because they white candles that were placed on each and every table, dripping all over them, were the only light source in this damp place everything had a more eery look to it. And everyone too. As she looked into her eyes, her face was slightly illuminated by the soft candlelight. But because the girl was sitting in the more shadowy part of the tavern, even with the candles, not her entire face could be seen. This made her look more mysterious. And even a bit dangerous. Selena wondered who she was. She looked a bit familiar. Like she had seen her before. Just can't imagine where... Selena thought. Maybe in Talas or inside a temple... I meet so many people every day. But her face does look rather, what is the word, unique? Yes, that is it. And the way she talks and laughs... I have seen her before for sure. But where? She bit her lip, pondering a bit. Then she tapped her fingers on her glass which she was still holding. I wonder if she would mind if I aks her a few things. Just to straighten out whether I know her or not. She smiled as she got up. I just hope she won't think I am some sort of twisted person or serial killer. And with that last thought she walked right over to her table. |

After hauling the man outside, Ranewen returned to her table just a few minutes before Selena had arrived. She let her gaze look up at this woman. She slightly recognized her. "Hello. Sit down if you'd like. I'm no killer, if you thought that." She smiled softly, trying to prove that she really wasn't deadly. Hmmm... She looks strangely familiar, as if I have met her somewhere before. Norwood Forest, perhaps. Then again, I can't remember much from that night. Unless you count that I can just only remember the sounds of the Orcs... She shook her head to herself. Using her foot, she pushed out the chair across from her for Selena to sit in. She then took a sip of the ale she and Lilith had ordered. She glanced over in Seele's direction, watching him closely for a moment. "Do you know that man over there by any chance?" she asked quietly and nodded her head towards Seele. |

Selena smiled back as Ranewen smiled to her. Her face looks so very different, less dark, when she smiles. Selena thought to herself. Though her aura seems to be very interesting. She sat down opposite her and looked into the direction she was looking. She took a good look at the person that was sitting there. Did she know him? Hmmm. He did look a bit familiar. But then again, maybe that was his name. She had definitely heard that before. But his face...no... That seemed new to her. After a while she shook her head. 'Nope. Sorry. I don't know him.' She now wondered as to why she had asked her that. 'Ehm...why do you inquire? Do you know him? Or...' A grin made its way across her lips as she paused. 'Or do you like him or something?' Though that was probably not the reason she had asked her if she knew him, Selena couldn't help but ask. 'Do you want me to go over to him and ask him to join us?' she teased her, still grinning. |

Ranewen had to bite her lip to keep from laughing out loud. "No, I don't like him. But what I do like are his eyes. I've never met anyone with Golden eyes before. And something about him tells me that he likes magick as well." She shrugged her shoulders as Selena made an offer to have him come join them. "If you so wish. I wouldn't mind the company. It's been a while since I made a few friends. Say, are you that woman I met from Norwood Forest? Selena, I think her name was." She wondered if it was her, or if it was someone else. But she did look strangely familiar to her eyes. I speak my mind too much... she scolded herself and looked back over at Seele for a moment before returning her gaze towards the flickering candle. She placed her hand in the hot wax that it had left behind and then pulled it back, watching it harden. She smiled and rubbed two of her fingers together, watching the wax slowly fall onto the table. The barmaid came back and asked both women if they wanted something. "Some ale would be nice again. And, whatever my friends wants right across from me, put it on my tab as well. You can put his on my tab too," she said and nodded towards Seele. |

'If we met in the forest?' Selena repeated Ran's question. 'Yes. Yes, we did.' She smiled. 'Now you ask, I feel absolutely sure of it. Because I already thought you were the one I watched from high in the tree, fighting off those horrid orc creatures. Vile swines...,' she muttered, now looking straight at the barmaid. 'Yes, some, ahum, 'red' wine would be nice.' She now winked at her. The barmaid giggled and walked off. Selena turned to Ranewen again. 'You are like me, aren't you?' she asked her, bluntly. 'Undead. Bound to the night. Not alive, yet not dead either. Though I am only partly undead.' She grinned at her own remark. 'Man, am I complicated...' |

Ranewe smiled as she finally recognized who Selena was and she took the ale as soon as it was given to her. "Hey, miss, I might not be a Vampire, but next time you come around, I'll take the "red" wine as well. I am a creature of the night." She smirked, wondering what it tasted like. She then turned her attention to Selena sititng across from her. "Yes, in a way I am. I may not be a Vampiress like you are, but I am a creature of the night and a shadowdancer. So, the darkness is my shelter at some points, and I become one with it. So yes, I am a creature of the night as well." She paused for a moment and took a drink of ale before continuing again. "May I ask if you are going to apply for the Goddess of Darkness position?" She smiled and waited for an answer. |
