| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Isaac leaned onto the bar, left hand folded into his cloak and the right gripping a glass of ale. He took a swig and glanced to his right, as the warrior from the nearby arena bagen to squabble with another warrior in a drunken rage. When they both stood and drew swords, Isaac's eye's flashed from warrior to warrior, sizing each of them up. As they began to attack each other in a messy, wobbling fashion, Isaac, realized they were going to drift into the eating areas, were many bard performed for seperate tables of nobles, and peasants alike. Having had enough Isaac drew his own sword and in one graceful arc, disarmed both warriors. Both looked at him as if he had just killed anything good in their lives and stumbled off. Isaac found a note on his door in sprawled hand. Ranger, you have invoked the wrath of the Plague. We have dealt with your kind before. Those who unrightfully end that which we prize will be punished. Watch your step, traveler. Isaac took the note seriously for a moment, then thought better of it. Who in their right mind would attack someone in the midst of the city streets? Taking no further heed, Isaac tossed the note on the ground and entered his room for the night. |

-Hamato sat there at the bar, looking through a map. This map plotted many courses of action, and there was an "x" that marked towns which would feel his wrath. But as he eyed the map and past progress reports from the orcish lieutenants(sp?), he realized that his forces weren't as strong as he anticipated. He slammed his fist onto the bartop, sighing- I must increase the power of my forces....but I will have to call upon the aide of the orcs close relatives--the goblins from Gwilikith, and maybe even the nefarious swamp creatures from the Haunted Marsh.-He whispered to himself.- Now the only thing to do is find the resources to barter their way into my army... -He then remembered that there was a select few dispatching even his off-duty warriors...which upset him greatly. Only one name rung through his mind as he thought of that--Isaac Dominae. He sent the reckless man a letter warning him of the punishment he has incurred upon himself. There were many loyal to him in that room, so knowing when this person left the area wouldn't be hard for him. He put away his maps and reports, then patiently he waited for the man to leave this innocent bar to exact revengance((a new word I created)).- |

Edainme had traveled from her home on the coast to get to Talas, and now she was tired and needed some place to rest. She came to the nearest inn and entered quietly. She was vary shy for she had never been far from her little farming community and this bar was filled with so many different races. Many she barely knew what they were but she kept her eyes lowered to keep attention away from herself. She walked over to the tender and spoke quietly. "How much for a room?" The tender looked up at her. "That'll be 20 gold a night missy," he replied. She nodded and pulled the coins from the little puch she kept in her pocket. She handed them over and he gave her a key on a ring with a tag on it. The tag read "8" and she assumed that this was her room number. She nodded at him greatfully and entered into the hall that was labeled "Rooms" with a parchment. She walked about until she found the room with the number eight on the door and she slipped the key in. It was dark inside her room and she fumbled around for a little bit until she found the lantern. She lit it with some flint and steel then set her belongings at the foot of the bed. She didn't have much gold, but she had enough to last her many nights here until she could find a place to work. She hoped to work for a cleric in town so that she could both learn from him and earn enough money to get the supplies that she needed. She left the room and went back into the bar area. She hadn't eaten in a while and she was famished. She sat at the bar in the only available seat next to a strange man. Quietly she ordered a hot plate of food and a hot tea. She looked around the room while she waited for her meal. There was so much culture here that she was unfamiliar with and she felt utterly lost. |

Isaac woke with a start as a small thump from outside his window disturbed him. Realizing it was probably nothing, Isaac figured it was very early in the morning anyway and got out of his bed. He threw his cloak over his shoulders and clasped it. He returned his Blade of Chaos to his belt, leaving his other sword and bow in the corner. Isaac left the room and went out into the hallway. He glanced around, and returned downstairs to the bar. He asked the bartender for some fresh water, and gratefully chugged it down. Finishing his drink, Isaac slid around in his chair and looked around. Only a few people still remained. One such was a man whom Isaac recognized as one of the drunken warriors from before, the others included a young maiden and a pair of orcs brooding in the corner. Unsatisfied, Isaac slid back around and leaned over the bar. |

Munwithurix sat at a table not to faraway from the bar, in human form she looked like some sort of an evil being. She looked at the people at the bar, then looked down at her drink, which was some kind of ale. On person at the bar was a woman, and she didn't look like she belonged here, the others were a strange man and another man, warriors of sort. It had been a boring stay at the inn, nothing didn't happen much anyways. Pulling back her dark hair she watched the few people, something didn't feel right, and that was good, maybe someting will happen and she would be able to get a free meal out of someone. She turned and stopped a bar maid and told her she wanted something to eat, which was beef. Waiting for the food, she smiled, feeling the thing that felt like something was going to happen. |

Isaac took one look at the small wooden clock one the wall, as the pendulum swung once more, the clock tolled off as 6 AM. Not bothered that he had gotten little sleep, Isaac slowly eased himself out of his chair and went back to his room. There, he found his small satchel of gold, and pocketed it. He then tried to leave the inn hastily, but his way was barred by the two, now sober, warriors from the night before. He stopped, taken slightly aback, and turned around. Another warrior stood behind him, sword drawn. "You think you can fight us, little man?" The warrior said mockingly. "I think maybe I can..." Isaac said, whipping out a fireball, throwing it hard enough to knock the man off his feet. By then, Isaac had his sword drawn, and turned to another warrior, just as the mans fist jammed itself into his stomach. Winded, Isaac stumbled back, and took oout his knife. Not just any knife, it glowed orange and it looked as if it were on fire. Isaac hurled it into the mans shoulder. He yelled out in pain and dropped his sword. Isaac stood and faced the final warrior, as at least half a dozen more stood that he hadn't noced before... |

-As he heard the commotion going on by the entrance, Hamato chuckled softly, then it rose to a haunting laughter. He then immediately stopped laughing and sighed- What kind of a move was that Isaac? Attacking without thinking-how absurd. I would've thought my prey would at least be smarter.-Hamato stood from his chair on the bar, then turned in the direction of Isaac and chuckled-Isaac, you have been branded for death. My name matters not, but know I am your undertaker!-He snapped his fingers and quickly the several men that stood up after Isaac stabbed their partner converged on him slowly, drawing their swords quickly. |

Isaac jumped away from a strike, and stood in a ring of enemies. "So it's a deathfight you want?" Isaac said under his breath. Just then, his hair shortened, and turned white, and his eyes turned to a menacing blood red. An evil grin spread across his face. His sword lit afire and glowed white hot. Isaac jumped with surprising speed at one of the closest warriors. He crouched under his swipe and stabbed him in the stomach. His cloths lit afire and he burned to death. Isaac quickly withdrew his blade and hurled a fireball in front of 2 more charging warriors. They yelled in pain and were both soon engulfed in flame. He grabbed his knife from the shoulder of the next warrior, as he stabbed him twice in the stomach. Just then, one of the last 3 warriors grabbed Isaac and threw him into a table. It cracked and gave way. Isaac momentarily played unconcious to rest for a moment and heal himself of bruises and burns. As 2 of the 3 remaining warriors got with 3 feet of Isaac, his eyes shot open and Isaac was on his feet in the blink of an eye. His dug his knife and sword into the throat of each warrior, both dying instantly. Now, with one warrior left, Isaac sheathed both blades and nailed him with 2 fireballs. He burned to death within a minute. "You were saying, Knight?" Isaac said, turning his bloodshot gaze on the Knight in the corner. |

-Hamato stood there, clapping at how Isaac dispatched of the men who he made attack him- Heh, that was quite a show you put on. I mean, I would have never thought that someone's hair could shrink back that quickly. And yes, as I was saying, I am your undertaker, so I do not know why you think that they were supposed to kill you. Nay, all they did was bring out your true form, leaving you with no suprise moves. You were a horrible fighter in the tournament and now just because you lost in the semi finals to....a necromancer-- you think its okay to kill orcs as you please. Heh, people like you give warriors a bad name...tch, it seems you cannot even fight without magic...-He then pulled out his longsword, his other hand at his side.- Come, Isaac. Let me prove to you how much a coward you truly are |
