Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

For many years there had been a creature of great power attacking the city of Talas. It was finally dead. Killed by an anonamous warrior. In the Elfsong & Tavern inn people where celebrating by drinking and dancing merrily. They where so happy that no one else would have to die that they had forgotten about everything and just drank merrily.

There was one man in the inn that sat all alone. He seemed to be secluding himself from the other party goers and drank slowlyn and quietly. He was a pretty well know man around Talas. He was the weapon's master at the nearby training grounds so not many people did not know him.

Outrage filled Selena’s body, her hands quivered with the raging emotion. She tugged absentmindedly at the wrist thick, intricate, silver braid that hung over her bare shoulder. Her grey-lavender eyes were sharp and crisp. She should be rejoicing with the other nobles at some expensive and gaudy social engagement, but she was too angry even to feel the joy that the threat of the horrible beast that had donned a shadow over their prosperous city was diminished.

How could he?! How could he promise my hand in marriage to that arrogant, mule-headed, slimy male!? Without even my consent! Before he had the decency to notify me of my recent betrothal before announcing the information to the court.” Taking a deep breath she calmed herself and a mischievous grin suddenly possessed her lips, “No worries though, I have played The Game of Houses better than my Father since I was merely ten years of age. I shall dispose of this minor problem. I should be celebrating, the dark threat that has threatened us for nearly a year is gone!

She waved a bare arm for the barmaid to bring her a drink. She shook her head to herself, she should have realized her Father was up to something when he had requested her to wear this new, very revealing garment. She wore a dress made of the thinnest silver satin. It was sleeveless, held up by a very snug form fitting corset. The skirt was tight, flaring out at her ankles. She was dressed as a prize, a prize her Father would award to the highest bidder.

Pushing her bitter thoughts aside she took a sip of the ale the barmaid had brought her, fiddling with the end of her braid. She began to ponder on who had slain the beast? A brave man to be sure. She smiled at the dancing taking place at the center of the tavern, pondering whether to join in.

At least Father gave me a reason storm out, now I may celebrate this truly merry day they way I wish instead of with the nobles.

As he drank quietly in the back of the bar Verling noticed a young woman enter the bar in a beutiful dress. "I wonder why she would wear something like that to a bar?" he mummbled to himself. As he wached her he noticed that she seemed to want to join in the celebrations. He stood up and walked over to her then said in a quiet voice "You seem interested in celebrating. Would you mind if I join you?"

Staring at the dancers in the middle of the room, she did not even notice the man that was approaching her until he had spoken. She turned in the direction of the voice and saw a man with dark brown eyes and hair the colour of night.

Her lips formed a smile and her lavender-grey eyes twinkled as she responded, “I would not mind at all. Please sit.

Astra had never seen this man before, she usually could recognize all the people in this small tavern, even in the streets she knew if someone was familiar or not. Even in a large city, it was usually fairly easy to pick out outlanders. Their clothes and accents were usually what gave them away. But, then again this man could be from Talas.

Flicking her long braid behind her she then motioned to the empty seat beside her. "I definitely welcome any company right now. I do not want to think of Father any longer...." Sighing inwardly she continued to think, "I still wish I knew who disposed of that beast. From the talk and rumors no one seems to know who the mysterious hero could be..."

Verling sat down beside her and ordered another drink. When it had arrived he looked to her and siad "I suppose you live hear in Talas. How do you like it?" As he waited for a reply he took a few sips of his drink then looked back to her. He had not noticed any details before but now that he was closer he noticed her fine clothing and said "I don't mean to be rude but may I ask why you are wearing such fine clothes in a place like this?"

For a few moment the two sat in silence until the man's drink arrived. Just as Astra was bringing her glass to her lips, the man made the comment about her "fine clothing". Astra snorted softly into her glass in amusement as she thought, "It is funny how such lack of cloth can be called fine. Well, he is very intuitive. Usually I blend right into this tavern. The brightly dressed peddlers and various races that come here usually overpower my garments, but I can't lie about my true identity now to this man."

She leaned closer to the man and whispered, "I am called Selena Cailena Xalvadora and I am a Lady from The House of Moon Petals, but I’d appreciate if you’d not mention me to anyone here. It is not looked well upon by the other nobles when a Lady is gallivanting in the lower districts of the city. Though, I’m much prefer these peoples’ company to theirs. Please, call me Astra.

Astra leaned back in her chair and took another drink from her glass and then she continued speaking, no longer whispering, “I am sure that that explains my clothes to you, and to what I think of the city… Well, it is a beautiful place and now that the threat of that monster is diminished it is even better here in Talas, but we have much political problems to deal with.

Astra did not want to go into depth about the political problems, she had come here to escape The Great Game and her Father for a while. She had also came here to celebrate the destruction of the monster. After taking another sip of her ale she continued, “What may I call you, and what do you think of this city?

(OOC: I'm going out of town for a few days, so I won't be able to post. See you when I get back! ~smiles~)

After taking a few more sips he said "My name is Verling. This is a fine city. I agree with you in that it does have a few political problem's. Though this is not the time to discuss that issue. We should be celebrating the death of monster that no longer exists should we not?" After saying this he remained silent for a few more minutes then said "The one who slayed him is probobly somewhere in the city. He may have wished to remain anonamous but with all the cheep food and drinks I don't see why he would not be around?"
