Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Her sanctuary. Her Hideaway. Her refuge. That was what the Elfsong Tavern had become to her. This was the only place she could escape the tiring and pointless duties that her status bestowed on her. This was the only place she could escape her tyrant father. This was the only place she could be herself. In this Tavern life was simple; there was no Game of Houses here. The politics where every sentence held a second meaning, where a simple hand maiden could be a spy and at every social engagement the glass of unreasonably expensive wine offered to you could hold your death.

Sighing heavily she sipped the strong, cheap dwarven ale she loved so much. After a few sips a fog covered all of her worries and a thin smile took hold of her lips. She was not drunk, she never allowed herself to become that vulnerable, she merely needed an escape.

She pulled back her dark violet hood and removed the cloak from her shoulder, carelessly hanging the ridiculously expensive piece of cloth over the simple wooden chair beside her. Her dress was composed of the thinnest, most expensive pale lavender silk. It clung to her body revealing her thin figure. Her silver hair was completely plated with thin braids and crystal dew drops were scattered amongst the hundreds of braids. Her eyes that ever seemed to be on the brink of purple and grey flashed with hatred and anger. Her father dressed her as his prize, a prize for suitors to win.

The raging emotion vanished quickly with another sip of her intoxicating drink. At least she blended in; no one questioned her appearance here. Among the nobles she stood out because of her strange features, but here among the brightly dressed peddlers, the dwarves and the many other races that now filled the tavern she was not easily picked out. Unless a male was looking for a target for the night, then her exotic beauty became troublesome but it was not something she could not deal with.

"Exotic Beauty," She thought amusingly to herself, "What exotic beauty you have my Lady Selena. Walk with me through your garden Lady Selena. Would care to accompany me to the next ball my Lady Selena."She scoffed silently. Even if she did believe she was beautiful, which she did not, these men only saw the power and wealth that came with marrying her.

Sighing again, she placed her head on the wooden table. Letting the music from the bards and the muffled talking of the crowded Tavern wash over her, washing everything away.

Walking into the tavern, Leon looked around the front area. A slight smirk came to his face seeing the usuals around here, drunk as always. He looked toward someone who he hadn't seen before, he knew she hadn't been in his presence before by pure scent alone.

He ignored her for the moment as he talked with a couple of the others, he really paid no attention to what they said but it was something to do at the time. No matter how he tried he couldn't get the thought of the seeming newcomer out of his mind.

Leon turned out of amuse to the young woman whom had been driving him crazy trying to figure out. He walked over to her and said in a simple tone "hello, to whom do I owe this chance meeting?"

A grin stayed upon his face as his golden eyes glowed with the sunlight from the windows. Green hair flowing in the gentle breeze looking upon her with questioning eyes.

Astra heard the young man ask for her name but before answering she took another long, slow draught from her drink and pushed a few thin braids away from her face. She then turned to face the male. She examined him, her grey-lavender eyes sparkling and sharp. She did not think he was human, his green hair and golden eyes hinted that he was not, but then again she believed she was human and she had purple eyes and silver hair.

Laughing inspite herself she spoke in her soft musical voice, “I hardly call it a chance meeting, I do not believe in chance. I am called Astra.

This better not be another man looking for a “good” time." Astra thought bitterly, “I’ve had too many young men in the last few weeks looking for a bit of fun.

Motioning to an empty chair at the large oak table she continued musically, “Please, sit Golden Eyes. Have a drink with me.

She knew that if his intentions were what she hoped they weren’t then they would be revealed quickly, men like she had been meeting lately had no patience, but if he was merely looking for conversation and a drink she would be more than happy to accommodate.

Many think being born a noble is a good fortune, but it is a lonely had complicated life. I do not think I have ever known true friendship.” She drowned her depressing thoughts with another long drink of her strong dwarven ale and waited to see what the man before her would do.
