Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Sargoth the Guardian; A statue's life sans pigeons

This is in need of crazy updating...

And through the powers that be, those powers that have shaped existance in all forms, Sargoth the guardian was created. Infused by those elemental magiks from the wood, wind, water, and flame, this creature was lifted from the abyss of inanimation to become the loyal protector of Laneer, Magus Terrainus.

He was made of an opal statue, the material of the base unimportant except for Sargoth's current skin hues. He was imbued with life from the earth, will from the wind, soul from the water, and power from the fire. With these he kept the knowledge and power kept secret within them. He would be devout in his protection of Laneer and of land he was born from.

Sargoth began his life in the Time of Troubles, only recently named and was simply called time to him. At a current age of 307, he has lived through most of the land's turmoil, though for some strange reason, he cannot recall a large portion of it. He has yet to discover what caused this lapse in his memory, something that should have been unshaken even through the centuries. Most importantly to him, he has yet to discover what happened to his master who he was created to protect. All he has is an old, damaged journal that houses only the most vague of clues to his past.

Almost immune to aging, as most stones can be, he now searches for a clue that he has yet to discover. He has no idea what or where it is, but he has no choice in his mind but to walk until he does. He travels as most guardians do, in their flesh form. As such, Sargoth looks like a tall human most of the time. When he rests, which is filled by strange visions, he becomes a statue once more: a simple resting post for a weary bird.

His physical power is still formidable, being inherent of the stone, but he has lost touch with the elements. During his travels, he has aknowledged that he must retrain these lost abilities; he is sure they will become crucial if he is to find the fate of his master.

Sargoth has come across what he now knows as elemental seeds, remnants of an ancient power that was used in his initial creation. These seeds tend to haunt Sargoth and draw him to them for a reunion. They appear to have absorbed some of Sargoth's old powers over the two hundred year rest he took and now they urge to be taken back to their master. He has found one seed in an unlikely place and now it has burrowed itself in Sargoth's chest, pulsating a different color for each spell that he casts. He still has little clue as to what is going on except for the tidbits of knowledge that the seed granted him when they bonded. As far as Sargoth has analyzed the issue, it seems that the seeds might even contain powers that Sargoth never had previously.

After a world-shaking release of power, the elemental seed buried in his chest shattered. Only with the help of the Goddess of Magic was Sargoth able to remain in the realm of the living, otherwise being stripped away by the elemental primes that created him. His return to life brought him the sun stone, the new safehold for his existance.

He existed for a time as the God of Light, reigning as a beacon over the world of Imythess. Without warning, the light faded, and he dissappeared from the world as a fallen god. He has fallen only into the words of legends, though some say they sometimes see a figure glowing in the distant horizon.
