| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Ok, I assure you I won't go around killing people...I am not a ruthless murderer...A few people were still standing around listening...Azuren turned around and gave them a look that made most of them walk away fastly...He then started to follow Sargoth down the road. |

Sargoth moved in a calculated fashion down the center of the road; he was making a game out of dodging the many puddles that always seemed to collect in the cobblestone. The moon was high in the sky that night and it was a little over half full, so it cast a fairly substantial amount of light down on the city streets. Sargoth could see without much trouble for a good ways down the road and the creeping shadows that tended to march out from the allyways were lessened that night. Sargoth began making idle chatter, "So, Azuren, what is it that you do in this world? Another generic adventurer of sorts, or is there something more?" |

There is a little bit more...I'm not just another generic adventurer...Azuren had a little bit more to himself, but could not tell anyone...In fear that the secret might get out...So, enough of me...What about you? All Azuren knew about Sargoth was his name... |

"I am Sargoth, Guardian of Laneer, magus terrainus," Sargoth seemed to cite rather than say to Azuren. He seemed to walk a little taller after revealing that to Azuren in that way. "I was created from the prime elements by my master Laneer to be his protector and his keeper. He was my charge from the moment I was born into this world a little over three hundred years ago. I now search for him after two hundred years of sightless sleep. I should have been watching over him for that time but there has been something wrong for a very long time. I have lost sight of him and for some reason I have forgotten most of my abilities. I remember scattered moments when I used them, I just cannot access them anymore. I need to find my master; then everything will be made right." Sargoth talked as if he was more reminding himself than granting useful information to Azuren. There was little danger in him revealing himself in this manner, but Sargoth was surprised that he had let it all out so freely. He supposed it was because he had not reminded himself of his mission for awhile and he needed to hear it again, no matter who else was around. |

Hmmm, I see...Azuren looked down the road, watching the rodents scatter as they got near...It's getting late, shall we see about looking for a place to stay? For I'm getting weary...Azuren stopped, waiting for Sargoth to reply. |

"I tend to rest outside of city limits; but, if I can do it once in the day, I can probably do it a second time. Do you have any ideas where you would like to rest? I do not think we'll be welcome to your room back in the tavern anymore," Sargoth said to Azuren. The city streets were becoming dimmer and less inviting as the two progressed forward. They were heading toward the poorer part of town, home to the less savory inhabitants. Sargoth did not really mind since it was between him and his destination but he hoped they would not spend excess time in the slums. |

Yes...We shall stay on the outskirts of town, my friend. Azuren started heading for the edge of town, occasionally glancing back to check if Sargoth was still coming. When they arrived at a small clearing Azuren sat up against a tree...Yawning he told Sargoth "Good Night"... |

"Rest well," Sargoth responded. He looked around the horizon, watching the bumpy tree line and the city at once. Sargoth was never a large supporter of cities, but he assumed it was just the balance of things. Sparse settlements and bustling cities, they were the way of life. He particularly enjoyed the forest without the bother of buildings, but he had no say in the matter. For now, if he was within the borders of civilization, he would simply keep looking outward until he could return to nature. |

Azuren awoke as the morning rays began to peek over the horizen...The light somewhat blinded the drow. Azuren started to he out to the forest, he was hoping to find something worthy of being breakfast...The drow started to mumble a few magic words and he started to shrink, beginning to look like a beautiful white wolf...Out of the corner of his eye he saw a rabbit come out of some bushes...This should be easy, he thought. He took off at a run easily catching the small creature. Transforming back into a drow he started to make his way back to the camp, with the dead rabbit over his shoulder... |
