Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

A Blood Stained Drow...

Sargoth did not bother touching his drink and looked around the bar. Fewer people were looking at the pair than previously, which was a nice change. Sargoth hated being stared at, and he did not like people staring near him either.

"I let our friend cool off outside, he was getting in the way of the barmaids laying on the floor like that. Thanks for the drink, by the way," Sargoth responded.

So after you leave the taver/inn where do you plan going Sargoth? And is it possible you would like a friend along? The drow picked up his ale and took a big drink. He sat waiting for Sargoth to respond...

Sargoth considered Azuren's question for a little while and then decided to respond, "I plan on going east because I arrived from the west. I am searching for something but I'm not quite sure what it is. I have never had a friend along besides Kilrur. I simply wait for the fates to cross my path with others, whether they are friend or foe."

Hmm, East! Then that direction we shall go my friend! Azuren finished the last of his ale then...

Sargoth looked at the drow and then shrugged to a thought that had crossed his mind. Sargoth stood up and then looked back at Azuren, motioning him to follow. He dodged several overzealous barmaids as he reached the door and stood to the side as a pair of enthusiastic men crashed through the door. Finally, he was able to get outside of the tavern. The cool fresh air made him feel revitalized and he scanned the street. Most of the buildings looked dark and forboding, but city lanterns helped light up the large roadways so that people would be less inclined to steal. To Sargoth's side, the drunk was still passed out and he had begun to snore. Sargoth just shook his head lightly.

When they reached the outside Azuren felt the rush of fresh air hit his face. It felt so good to be outside again. Azuren looke down and saw the drunk from earlier. Hehehe! Azuren thought what he should do...As they started to head away the drow reached into the mans pocket and pulled out a handful of coins...Thanks! He bent over and cut the sleeping drunks throat letting him die. Looking up to check if nobody noticed...O good nobody saw!

Sargoth scowled deeply as he saw the drunk lying dead in the street for less than a handful of coins. While he knew death was sometimes a necessesity for survival, this was just plain wrong to him. Sargoth suddenly had little interest in the company of a man who would kill someone for such a pathetic reason.

"Azuren, well met, but it seems the fates want us to split ways once again. Please leave me and try not to kill anyone else on your way."

...Hahaha...The fool deserved it! He started it, and I finished it...Azuren pointed to a symbol on the mans clothes, they had not noticed before. He should know better then to wear the mark of the swarm! Azuren walked the other way heading to Varila's Temple. Farewell, Sargoth...

((OOC: For those who don't know "The Swarm" is a guild of bandits who killed his brother.))

"And what is this swarm?" Sargoth called to Azuren. "What is it and why do you hate it so much?"

Sargoth turned and looked toward the drow, waiting for the response. He tried to ignore the growing pool of blood beneath the corpse. Sargoth was also fairly upset that he had bought the man a new bottle of wine and now it was ruined.

Azuren spun around...The Swarm...The Swarm, you ask...They are the gang that killed my brother and stole everything he owned. He trusted them...And then they took his life...Now I hunt them, and kill everyone I see! I am getting my brothers revenge! Azuren replied coldly, as he walked away...

Sargoth called back, trying to understand the intricacies of Azuren's rage, "And what of this man? Did he play part in killing your brother? Was it his blade that cut him down? Can you be sure that this man was even part of this sect when your brother was killed, or is it possible that he just joined and was being tricked just like your brother was? If he was as ruthless as he should be to kill your brother, then I am quite surprised that he chose to avoid fighting you earlier."

Sargoth knew this probably would not work, but the dead man sitting next to him seemed to be more of a testimate of cold killing rather than revenge. Sargoth knew what revenge felt like. It was his window into the darker aspects of the world: death as a necessity. Laneer taught him that some unforgivable things existed in life, and the expungement of those things was called vengeance. Sargoth knew and understood the finer points of vengeance: he only began acting for its cause when he learned and accepted that some day his own death might come because of someone else's vengeance.

Azuren stopped...NO! I don't know if he was a member, at the time of my brothers death...But If I want to put an end to their guild, then I must kill them all...My brother never joined up with them..All he did was trust them...People all around them stopped dead in their tracks...The only reason he backed down earlier from a fight with me...Was because he was probably planning on hunting me down later and killing me, with his friends...The same way they got my brother...A tear started to go down Azurens cheek...He wiped it away quickly.

"We will never know, then. I can only think that you too decided not to fight him only to deal with him later. So perhaps you are right in the end. So, where are you heading now?" Sargoth called to Azuren.

Sargoth watched the people staring at them and he waved his arms at them to disperse. He did not want to have to shout over prying ears.

I would still like to travel with you Sargoth...If you dont mind... Half of Azuren was hoping that he would allow the drow to come...But the other half wanted to run off into the night and be alone...Azuren waited for Sargoth to reply...

"Very well then," Sargoth gave in. He had his own share of greviances that scared off friends in his life. "You may tag along if you can assure me you will not go around killing people without at least letting me know why in advance. You really could have mentioned something earlier. As far as I knew, you were a common murderer. I am actually quite surprised I did not attempt to subdue you myself."

Sargoth looked around, eyeing the locals. They obviously now knew that something had happened to the man sitting by the tavern entrance but they still did not move to try and see if he was alright.

In passing, Sargoth blurted, "What in the fates is wrong with these people!"

Sargoth waved to Azuren with his arm, signalling for him to follow. With that, Sargoth began strolling east down the roadway.
