Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Brenia adjusted the bustline of the peasent top she wore, finding the 'uniform' a bit uncomfortably low cut. Pushing a lock of raven hair behind a delicate ear, she leaned on the counter of the bar, gazing out over the people cloaked by shadows, images flickering in desolate torchlight. It was slow tonight, and most of the people who were in the tavern were seated, having meals. Hardly anyone came to the bar, though there were a few that were, conveniently, already drunk. Rain poured thunderingly across the window panes, and the chatter was sometimes masked by a low rumble of thunder. Sighing, she watched for someone to serve, and something to do.

((ooc- mmep....wrong character. It's supposed to be Brenia.

And sorry it's so short...I started, and then realized I had to go to class. Promise the next one'll be much longer!))

The door of the large tavern swung open and a black skinned female entered the room, her body shining wetly from the rain outside. The deep brown cloak that covered her head was nearly soaked through, and with some relief the Drow took off the hood to reveal white-copper hair. Her ebony eyes darted around the Tavern & Inn, taking in the quiet hustle and bustle. Finally her eyes rested on the bar, a place where she would be darting around the rest of the evening. With quick steps, she walked across the wooden floor and pushed open a door that revealed a back room. Inside lay her barmaid uniform across a straight backed chair, neatly folded. The Drow took off her cloak and hung it on a nearby hook. Making sure the door was locked, Jysbryn stepped out of her grey gown and changed into her new outfit. The peasant top that was required to be worn showed off her bust nicely, but it reminded her uncomfortably of some of the tops worn by whores she had come across in other cities. However, this was her job and she would not complain. Not that she didn't want to, but she was in desperate need of the gold. Unlike some lucky folk, there had not been a ready supply of money when she arrived in the upperworld of Imythess.

Pushing a strand of hair from her face, she unlocked the door and stepped out into the main room. Above her a loud clap of thunder sounded, followed by a stroke of lightening. Jumping edgily, she tried to keep her expression blank. She would never get used to the strange concept of weather. By the bar, the bored bartender busied himself cleaning glasses while a raven haired woman leaned sullenly against the wooden top, surveying the tavern. By the look of the woman's similar attire, she was also a barmaid employed at the Elfsong Tavern & Inn. Jysbryn didn't normally relish company, but the activity in the place was so low key that she was glad to have anyone to talk to. Making her way over to the bar, she took a seat on one of the stools and twisted herself around so she could see both the customers and the door. So far, nothing to do. But the night would be long, and who knew what would come of it.
