Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

RAE! LOOK OUT! shouted her pixie. Rae turned and then let herself drop from the sky, the wind from the spell going right through her hair. It had grazed her head, luckily, just missing her. “I SAID GET OUT OF MY HEAD!” the demon had shouted at the dragon and then went at another one of the images. She wasn’t sure if it was Ace or not, but it was still worth a shot. C’mon Rae… Fight the demon away… Jordison encouraged her from the sidelines as he pranced around the Wisp and the pixie, who was watching each one of the images move. Ranewen charged, her sword’s point directly pointed at the image. Perhaps it was Ace. Perhaps it was an image. Either way, she still charged at him. Die… the thoughts still rang in her head. She tried to regain control of her body, but the demon was too strong at the moment.

"What!!!!! Three out of four!!! Dumb luck... I'm down to my last image I'll have to make the best of it," Master Ace thought as he casted Light and blinked away again. Ranewen dispelled another image, but now Master Ace and the last image flanked her left and right. Both of the Ace's tossed their dagger to their tail. Over the course of the battle Master Ace's hair, eyes, and scales had slowly changed from silver to blue. The image had also gone through the change. The change was subtle, and almost unnoticable. Draco heard Jordison's comment from her mind and couldn't help yell in her mind, "Wait a minute! There is two poeple in here!!!!!! A Demon and the actual Ranewen!!! I'm soo confuuused!!!!"

Ranewen had heard both of the voices in her head, which made her stop in mid-air for a moment – a mistake; a bad mistake on her part. Did I NOT say get out of my head?! the demon shouted as she looked at both of the Aces on each of her sides. She began to spin Cierif around; hopefully it would make the two draw back. Which one… Which one… she thought and looked at each of them. They each had the same dagger out and looked exactly the same. She sighed and waited to see which one attacked first. Of course, she forgot the fact that both of them would move at the same time. She made a growling noise. Abyss, on the other hand, was worrying her head off. She seemed to be chewing on her nails and praying. Don’t kill her… Don’t kill her… Abyss kept thinking.

"Stoping... I can make more images or I can attack with this oppurtune time. She' s spinning that thing around, but does she really thing she can get both of us at the same time? I've got to give some credit though she spinning that thing pretty good for who's flying in the air. We there's no time like the present," Master Ace thought as he saw her stop and swing her sword around. Both Ace's charged her. His attack would depend upon which ace she chose. Draco replied in her mind, " Why should I get out of your head. Methinks this isn't even YOUR head to begin with!"

JUST GET OUT! the demon shouted. As she saw the two Aces coming at her, she shoved the sword towards the right (as in, the direction) one and dropped a little bit, hoping to throw both of them off guard. Hopefully, the sword would hit the image or Ace, whichever one it was. She sighed lightly, everything seeming to go in slow motion to her. For some reason, it felt as if she were two people. Which, she was. But she didn’t know that. It seemed as if the demon’s time went in slow motion, but it was just the fact that she was fighting herself for control over her body. And she didn’t even know it. With a slight sigh, she looked at each of the two Aces, almost waiting to feel a dagger piercing her.

"It seems like you're on a roll tonight," Master Ace thought as he instantly switched postions with his image. They both were now moving away from Ranewen. Ace nicked her with Reya as she dispelled his finally image. It was a small cut, but Ace wanted to give no more. "Celestial fire should cool off what ever powers that demon has and maybe help Ranewen over come it. I hope so small a cut is good enough to do the trick," Master Ace thought to himself. He looked back to see what was going on with Ranewen. If his idea didn't work he would have to make a deeper cut and that would prove much more difficult. It would be hard to fight in the air, not even mentioning the fact that he was holding Draco the whole time. Draco was now pleased. He loved to argue in other people's minds. "You and what armies is going to make me? "

How can a little dragon stop me from doing something that even a human can’t?! the demon snapped, just as Reya had cut Ranewen’s face. The fire burned in her cheek and the demon forced Rae’s wings to fold around her and she fell to the ground, landing on a table. Although the demon hadn’t been too hurt, it was slowly losing control over Ranewen. But its fighting was hurting her on the inside. Soon enough, the demon forced her to stand and jump into the air to continue fighting. Now, there was only one Ace. Although the cut burned, the demon refused to yell out in pain. Rather, it liked the pain that it was receiving, even if it was losing the fight with Rae. Ranewen began to see more clearly, yet everything was still a blur to her, everything still seeming to be moving in slow motion.

"She's still up!!!What on earth is that demon that's possessing her!?!?!?!This is going to be difficult," Master Ace thought in disbelief as he saw Ranewen get up after the fall, "I can't do much, but cast spells and attack with my tail. Why must you always complicate things, Draco. Taking the offensive will be too hard I'll have to wait for her to strive first." Master Ace hovered in the air and waited for her to come at him. He knew his haste spell would begin to fade soon. He hoped he could pull this off before it faded compelely.
Meanwhile, Draco was putting his two cents worth into the battle over her mind, "You can do it Ranewen. You can overcome this demon-thingie. It's weak, you're strong."

If I were weak, don’t you think I wouldn’t be able to speak? the demon snapped at the dragon angrily as it urged Ranewen to attack Ace. The cut burned a lot still, but the demon refused to give in and crawl into its shell. Ranewen sped forward with her double-edged sword, Cierif. The flaming end was pointed towards Ace, the ice end at her left side. She could throw it, but it seemed too risky. Ranewen’s vision became a bit blurrier as the demon’s wrath was almost completely over her. She could barely see where Ace stood, but the demon seemed to guide her. She tried to fight the demon, which was actually destroying her own body. Before she could reach Ace, which was only meters away, she stumbled in the air and went crashing to the floor before, landing on her side on top of a table. Her speed, this time, caused the table to break in half. She lay there, unable to move for a few moments.

Master's Ace's heart was pounding away. She fell straight before him and crashed through a table below. He knew it had something to do with the battle in her mind "Ranewen can fight what controls her, I wish I could say the same of myself. If the demon is this tenacious, I wonder how hard it is for her to fight. I no how hard it is to fight for one's own mind, yet I've always lost. Prehaps after I help her she can help me. I was hoping this could be done with less damage to Ranewen," Master Ace thought to himself as calmed himself down. He decided to act now while she couldn't move. He casted a quickened stun spell. This spell would prove useful even if Ranewen had regained control. "Does she have control now?" he called out hoping that Draco or Jordison could answer his question. She had many minor wounds and he hoped could heal them as soon as possible, but none of them life threatening. Draco still cheered Ranewen on, "As I was saying, It's weak and you are strong. You can do it Ranewen."

It doesn’t seem that way… Jordison answered honestly as he watched, cringing as Ranewen began to move. Her movements weren’t very good… She was moving only spasmodically, as if she had been on the verge of death. Her eyes were rolled in the back of her head, as if she were actually dead. Her breathing was heavy, her chest heaving as if she were gasping for breath. What can a little dragon like YOU do to me?! the demon asked, its voice slightly weaker than last time. Obviously, it seemed as it Ranewen was winning.

The rain began to slow down. "Wow! That demon can take a whallop. Prehaps the more the demon worries about me, the less capable it will be of fighting Ranewen. It's worth a shot I suppose," Master Ace thought as he began to circle Ranewen. He raised his free claw and began casting a spell. He made his claw into a fist and then opened it again. in his claw was a small baseball-sized ball of ice. "More than a foul demon like you can do to me. What on earth are you?," Master Ace replied coldly. His eyes focused on Ranewen. His tail anxiously twitched behind him. "Good job, Ranewen. Keep going the demon can't take much more," Draco kept cheering her on.

I have the power… to kill her… its weak voice stated to Draco. Ranewen was still twitching spasmodically. Her eyes didn’t move at all. Sweat, however, build up in beads a long her face. It seemed as though she were having a fever. She gasped a few times for breath, but nothing else moved but her chest from breathing. One eye rolled back – her right one – but the other stayed rolled back in her head. The one that rolled forward was red, yet it slowly faded to blue. The left one rolled back to its normal position still beat red. She had control over half of her body, at least. Soon, though, the red slowly began to fade. Her breaths weren’t as heavy as normal, and she began to feel the cut in her cheek. Her back began to ache as well. She groaned a bit, but the demon kept her from moving.

Master Ace couldn't help but stop and stare. He hovered and watched Ranewen with wide eyes. He remembered what Jordison had said, 'that's why her eyes are red.' "So she's half way there? I suppose there is little I can do until either takes full control again and if it's the demon then might have to take another look at the situation. I suppose all I can do is wait for her to regain control. If I heal her now and the emon takes over then I'll be in a bad situation," He thought as he loosened his grip on his ice ball and slowly hovered to the ground. He called out ,"Ranewen you can do it! You're half way ther just a little more." Draco replied to the demon, "Even a hatchling like me can see that you need her as a host. To kill her would be to kill yourself."

The demon seemed to laugh weakly. You honestly think that I can’t move onto another, stronger host? it asked. Soon enough, his laughter faded to nothing, and Ranewen’s other red eye became fully dark blue. Although she had won, she still couldn’t get herself to move. Her body was splintered from the wood of the table, and her cheek burner her, even though it was a little cut. She was breathing heavy again, for she now felt every bit of the pain. She blinked a few times to keep her eyes from rolling into the back of her head once more. All she could see was something with wings and a tail, with a pseudodragon in his arms. (I think that’s where the pseudodragon is, right?) Her hair draped onto the floor. Perhaps she should heal herself, but she would rather let her wounds heal normally. She enjoyed some of the pain.
