Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Sammila leans over the bartap, demanding more alcoholic beverages. She swings around in her chair, and plops in front of the fireplace.

Zoe stands behind the counter and cleans her grill. Its not really hers, but she likes to say that. She is so proud of her job and she wishes to keep it. The tavern was astoundedly empty...there was one girl in there. And herself. Zoe peered questionly at the stranger. She has never seen her in this tavern before. She must be new.

"Sorry, No more alchohal for you." she stated. This girl has had too many already. And plus there isnt a bartender present to serve her. She wasnt kidding, The Empty Elfsong. One person on Staff, one costumer. "But I can get you some food, if you like."

"Alrigh', alrigh'," Sammila slurrs, "Cook me up some tasty treats," She waltzes up to the cook, and tosses a few coins her way. "Use yer imagination," she demands, and stumbles across the Tavern. It was late, but she had an idea.. Sammila was alone with this obviously bored girl, and it was a rather fetching time to tell a tale..

"You, girl? Are ye listenin'?" Sammila demands. She pulls up a chair, and gazes at the cook. "By the way, wat's yer name?"

Zoe blinked at the obviously druinken girl. She took the gold and started to flame up the most common tasty treat-everyones faverite. As she was cooking, she stole a glance up at the girl. "Im Zoe. And you are?" she asked.

She set a plate of the candy shish-k-bob infront of the drunken stranger. Made with Caremel, Chocolate, and butterscotch covered the stick. Zoe had to restrain herself from making herself a batch...But the bad thing about being a cook is that you have to make the food, and never eat it.

It was late in the evening, not many had come to the Elfsong. A strange sight indeed. This brought a bit of a frown to Ciara's face, curious if there was another happening out in the lands that she should know of, a party of some sort, with dancing.

Ciara closed her eyes, imagining the thought, the dancing in a great hall, out underneath the moonlight and stars where the wind breezes through one's hair with such freedom. She remembered the balcony that had sat off of the Temple of Air..

Her eyes opened quickly, the memory fading, slowly, from her mind.

Shaking her head, she emerged from the dark corner of the tavern, it had only been her break and now she wandered toward the guest and the cook, a smile pressed upon her face though her eyes did not match that same look of happiness.

They never did these days.

She fetched a cup of sweet drink, though it's taste was said to be alcoholic, it in fact was just a sweet drink. One of Ciara's favorites. Setting it in front of the guest they had here, she smiled more warmly, the light in her eyes somewhat faded as she nudged Zoe, the cook, in a soft hello without words.

Sammila whips her cloak around, and stares at the stranger. "Who're you? Where'd ya come from?" She peered at her curiously. "Sometinks the matter, missy!" She scrunched her eyes up and giggled.

Zoe smiled warmly at the newcomer. She had never talked to this girl, But she knows alot of the people in town. Shes heard her name before so Zoe doesnt need to ask it. Though her greeting was wordless, hers wont be. "Hello, Ciara," She said with a smile. "Can I get you anything to eat? On the house!" Blaharg. Zoe dug into her pockets and forged out a few gold coins she could use for the pay of Ciara's food. She popped it in the moneyholder (cash registers werent invented yet). She gave a jerk of the head torwards Sammila. "Dont mind her. She's...more than a little bit drunk. Thankfully the Bartender left her shift." she said wearily as she awaited for her response

"I'm not drunk, persay. Just a bit.. tipsy.." Samilla spat, then burst into laughter that caused her body to maneuver right off her stool. She landed with a SPLAT on the ground, and lost herself in her large emerald cloak. It sparkled with every swish, like it was enchanted..

Once Sammila straightened herself and readjusted her cloak. When she turned to face Ciara again, she was sober.

"Now, honestly, what on earth is wrong with you? You look like you've been carrying an ogre on your back for a year!"

Ciara only giggles and picks up a dirty rag, cleaning it out in a bucket of fresh water which had been brought in at the start of her shift. Her eyes go from the drunken guest to Zoe and she smiles again, more warmly than she had been before.

"Thank you Milady Zoe, but that will not be needed. You see, I am here for my own shift as well, though I am sure that I won't be needed for too much longer." She turned her attentions back to the female guest, smiling still and hoping she hadn't scared her too much.

"I was sitting in that corner and I go by Ciara Aoife, though you may call me Ciara as anyone else would." A red silk wrapped hand points to the shadowy corner in which she had come from. "I promise you Milady, I come to you in peace, no harm shall come to you here. I am only the maid of this bar." In Ciara's place, which isn't far from the bar at all, she reaches down with each hand to lift the long pink dress, giving a quick curtsy and bow of the head, done more out of fun that real respect, though it wouldn't appear any differently.

Looking out about the tavern now, she raises an eyebrow, her teal eyes looking still dull. "It seems I only need to pick up a few places and wash over the tables, we don't appear to be too busy this evening." Walking back out from behind the bar, Ciara nodded and spoke softly as she wandered away from the two. "I will stay out of your hairs if you like, you will hear no trouble from me."

Ciara giggled again, making her way to the farthest table, washing it off then to the next, cleaning up the dirtied and cold plates only to wash that table as well.

Zoe blinked after Ciara. Hmm. She forgot that new jobs were still being givin away. She was glad that Ciara worked there as well. She seemed interesting, Zoe couldn't wait to get to know her. Meanwhile, She stole away in the back room to find some cleaning solution she can clean the grill with....again...

Sammila sat around, enjoying the silence in the tavern. Often it was crowded and she couldn't hear herself think over the drunken idiots. Sometimes she was the drunken idiot, but she was never as loud as those savages.

She began to hum the the tune to an ancient Elven song.. she used to sing it all the time. Some parts she had to skip because it was unfamiliar. It was depressing, realizing that she wasn't a child anymore. She stood up, waved to Ciara and Zoe, and quickly left the tavern.

Zoe blinked after Sammila. She had realized that she blinks after people. Zoe saw a certain shock in her eyes as she hurried away...She had left her cloak there. Perhapes she should follow her, bring her her cloak, and ask if shes ok...she recognizes that shock...

Zoe takes of her apron and says goodbye to Ciara as she picks up the cloak and races off

Sighing, Ciara cannot feel but though she hurried the others off. Now she stood alone in the tavern. It was much close to closing time, she would need to finish her duties and attend to any of the other customers that might wander in. Stealing a glance out a nearby window, she judged the time.

"Just an hour more. I shall head upstairs then, I am sure that there will be no complaint." Looking out across the rest of the tavern, she realized that without any of their normal guests here, she had gotten through her duties quite quickly. The distraction of the others must be the reason why it takes so long.

Ciara wished for someone to come, but knew inside that it was much too late. Perhaps a stray traveler, looking for a room, but none that would sit down to speak with her.

Picking up the few cold plates she had collected, Ciara ringed the mugs and goblets with a free hand, hoping not to drop any of it on her way toward the bar. A mug dropped and then a plate, spilling uneaten food upon the floor. She only laughed out loud and to herself as she hurried toward the bar and behind it, dropping whatever was left onto a low shelf.

Sighing and with a bit of a roll from the eyes, she took up the rag, cleaning it out then went to clean up the floor where she had dropped the mug, plate and food.

Zorgn walked into the bar. He had just flown in from Cascadia and decided that as long as he was here, he might as well go to the bar. As Zorgn entered, he stoped and stared. THe bar was empty, it was never empty. There was only Ciara in the bar, Zorgn was a bit puzzled, gods didn't usually go to bars. Why was Ciara here? Zorgn walked over to Ciara and asked, "Are you Ciara? Why are you in this bar?"

She had looked up and then down again as she scrubbed the bartop with some elbow-grease behind it. After she had finished, she narrowed her eyes, curious about his question. "Yes Sir, I am that Ciara." She tensed for a moment, thinking of the Other World, thinking that this might have been the time that she would be taken away again.

She stepped back cautiously, timidly. Her eyes looked from either side then to Zorgn again as she plopped the rag back into the empty bucket at her side. "Why wouldn't I be here?" She held out her hands, tilting her head for a moment as she too thought of the question, answered it to herself before she would aloud. Waiting for him to reply.
