| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Amras looked up at the sign to the tavern. He was new to this land, having just arrived. He knew no one there, was not familiar with the area, and did not know where he was. He had awoken in the city, just like that, with no idea of how he got there. He didn't have any memories of the life he led in the past. He shook his head and decided a drink would be for the better. He walked through the front door, hearing the ding of a bell as he strolled to the bar. He sat at a stool and ordered an ale. While waiting for it, he looked around at all the unfamiliar faces. The bartender arrived with the ale and he payed him. He turned on his stool and faced the window. He could do nothing but sip on his ale, watching the clouds go by in the blue sky. |

Balinor entered the tevern quietly as only the sound of the bell on the door could be heard throughout the whisperes. He made his way through the inn to the farthest corner of the room and leaned against the wall, pulling his claok tightly around his muscular body. With a quick glance around the tavern, he saw no familar faces and turned back to the door to leave the building as quietly as he had entered. He suddenly stopped at the door as he remembered the man sitting at the bar, He was kind of like himself. Lost and new to this world, turning back to the room he was in seconds earlier, he made his way to the figure.... |

Amras day-dreamed for a while until he heard the bell ring again. His attention was now on a man who had just walked into the tavern. He watched curiously as the man simply walked in, leaned against a wall, and looked around. The man then walked out as if nothing happened. But then then the man walked back inside and was walking towards where he sat at the bar. |

Balinor quietly walked up to the bar and ordered a ale. He sat and closed his eyes for a moment before the thudding aound of a full glass of ale could be heard on the table. Balinor nodded and flicked a peice of gold to the bartender who smiled and walked away. Balinor sipped his ale before saying. "Your not from this land are you?" Directing his queston to the man beside him... |

Lyrka was, to put it simply, sick of being Lyrka. She was sick of always being polite and nice. Sick of only being notice because of her wings, her looks or her position. She wanted to be noticed for something else. If she was evil, then people would notice her. But Lyrka didn't have it in her to be evil. She would have to be content with a change. She had mastered the alter self spell not too long ago and was, if only slightly, eager to use it. After changing she went to the tavern. The bell rang when she opened and then closed the door silently. A quick glance around the room showed her only one or two people not counting the two men near the window. Moving from the door, she sat down at a empty table near but not too close to the two men. One of the first things she had changed was her height, she was 5'8 now. Her skin, smooth, was a light tan. Her face was plain, nothing to attrack attention though her eyes were still the same large, luminous silver. Her hair, about down to mid-back, was a dull brown that she had pushed back behind her ears. Her clothing was that of a simple commener; a white shirt with flared sleeves and tight cuffs, a brown bodice that laced up the front, soft leather shoes, and a brown skirt. |

Amras had finished his glass of ale and gave the glass to the barkeeper to refill it. He thanked the barkeeper once again and payed him. He heard the door open yet again. He turned and saw a woman this time walk in and seet herself at a table sort of far from where he sat. He been watching her, so he forgot about the other man's question. Oh... well, no, I'm not really from around here. He took another sip from his glass. I actually just arrived here about an hour ago. This is the first place I saw, and you're the first person I talked to here. |

She felt eyes upon her, so her own silvery ones responed by turning up to meet the gaze of the first man. She regarded him silently for a moment before turning her gaze to his companion, studying him too. Both were new, she noted thoughtfully, maybe she should offer her help? No... That would be something she might have done before but not now. Her line of sight turned back to the window she had been staring out of. One of the few who worked at the tavern came forward to ask what she'd like. "Mug of ale and whatever it is that you have to eat," she replied without even looking up at the girl who then moved off. Though Lyrka's gaze was focused upon the window, she was listening to the new conversation from the two men. Had she been herself today, she wouldn't of done it but she wasn't herself and she didn't care if it seemed rude. |

Balinor put his ale on the table with a quiet thud as he turned to the woman who hasd just entered. There was something about her that interested him to a certain extent. Her eyes were mysterious and glinted in the light as she peered around the tavern. Keeping his gaze at the woman, he said "Ive only been here for a couple of days..I see you dont know this land..as I dont either" He said quietly before walking towards the woman... |

Lyrka absently gaze the waitress a few pieces of gold for the meal and her drink. When the girl left, she picked up the mug of ale and began to sip from it, still listening to the conversation thoughtfully. Of course, her thoughts vanished when the second man approached. Her gaze, which had turned down to study the contents of her drink, flicked up to regard him. "What?" she finally asked him after placing the ale back down to exchange it for her spoon. Which she then used the latter to begin on the bowl of soup that had been placed before her. |

Balinor smiled at the womans choice of words. "Well....someone approaches you and yet you snap at them.." He replied as he sat across from the woman, gazing into her eyes. "Tell me....where am I?" he said quietly as he narrowed his bright blue eyes, the smile fading from his face... |

She placed her spoon down after only one or two spoonfulls, placing an elbow on the table and propping her chin in her hand. "Would you then ask me to apologize for it?" She asked, her head tilting to one side for a moment before righting itself. "And as to you other question," she added, a sweet smile stretching across her face. "Your in the Elfsong Tavern and Inn as you would know if you had read the sign before you walked in... Unless you can't read?" The question was asked innocently though she didn't really care. She had known what he meant but that didn't really me she would supply him with the answers. |

Balinor eyes flashed in anger as the grip on his blade tightened. He was ready to just stand up and swing his sword and decapitate the woman before him. He knew what was to happen if his anger grew too much. Trying his best to surpress it, he narrowed his gaze to the womans eyes. " I will advise you just to tell me where I am...Please.." he said quietly as he readied his hand incase she said something else smart... |

She raised her mug and sipped from the ale for a few moments, watching his angered movements over the rim. After returning the cup to the table she regarded him thoughtfully. "You would draw a sword on an unarmed woman? How very rude... And anyway, killing me will not get you the answers you want though you seem to not to want to....But just in case," she added as her eyes narrowed. A moment later a clear blue shield appeared in place around her. "Since you said please, I suppose I could answer the question.... At the moment we are within the City of Talas which rests in Imythess, a land ruled by the gods." ooc- shouldn't we wait for the amras dude to post? |

OOC: Well...we could...but were just talking, its not like were fighting a huge war ^^ IC: Balinor nodded to the woman. "Your not your average woman...there is a strange aura that surrounds you.." he said quietly loosing his grip on his blade and closing his eyes as visions flashed in his mind. "You seem familier..." He whispered as he opened his eyes and gazed over the womans shoulder and out the window... |

"Not many in life are average," she replied with a shrugg. "Most are more than what they seem which could, of course, be said for you too." She sipped from her mug again as he lapsed into silence, pondering over his last comment. After a few moments she finally lowered her drink to speak. "I don't see how I would be familiar," she said, her manner and tone indifferent. "I've never met or seen you before, never heard of you nor do I see any reason why I should." |
