Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Falir entered the tavern. He did not know what he was doing in here. But he thought it to be a safer place than the streets at this time of night. He had already passed several groups of drunken louts looking for trouble, he had to be firmer with them than he wished, however they would wake up with nothing more than a hangover. Although he was inside the tavern he kept his hood drawn up. He approached the bar and stood awaiting service. It was not Falir's style to call for service. After a moment the barman spoke to Falir, "What can I get you sir?" Falir eyedthe various liquors and ales for a mone thten replied "Just a small bottle of whisky and a shot glass please." The barman handed him his drink. Falir was mildly surprised that the barman considered it normal that a man was ordering a bottle of spirits. But looking around falir noticed that many of the men in here were sitting alone with bottles of their own. This was good, Falir did not want to draw attention to himself. He found a seat at the edge of the firelight where he would not stand out. He lit his pipe and poured out some whisky. Although he did not wish to draw attention to himself he would not mind some conversation.

Falir had been lucky for a few moments after he entered the tavern, it had started pouring rain. The next figure to enter wasn't. Her long chestnut hair, which was up in a braid, was dripping water. Her tail, that of a lion's, was of similar coloring as her hair but it too dripped a few drops of water. Her black breeches and her white long-sleeved shirt were soakened through. Luckly, her mid-shin leather boots and her brown leather vest had been treated so they were water proof. But that hadn't stop her annoyance from growing.

She made her way to the bar, not really caring if she got water on anyone. When asked by the barkeeper what she wanted, she replied softly, turning her gold eyes up to his face. "A glass of red wine... An older vintage if you have it," she added. She dropped the payment on the counter, accepted her glass and then moved to the table closest to the fire.

After she had settled down in the chair and was sipping her wine, she let her gaze roam over the others within the room.

Falir smiled as he noticed the drenched girl walk into the bar. He took another drag from his pipe and exhailed shoruding his head in smoke for a moment. He had been lucky to get out of the rain. He amused himself for a second on the thought of the louts he had ealt with lying in the rain. He had a sense of humour like that. His eyes followed the girl as she went and sat down next to the fire. He pondered for a moment whether to go and talk to her. He downed a glass of whisky and poured another. For the moment at least he thought it would be better to observe from a distance.

As her gaze circled the room a second time in landed on Falir, having noticed his smile and that he was watching her. She sat studying him for a moment then, when the smoke began to cover him, turned her gaze back to the fire, the flames reflecting in her eyes as it would in all felines. Smoking was a bad habit, not to mention the smoke normally smelled bad and had too strong a scent. But of course, none of that bothered the humans who did smoke.

Despite his habit, her gaze was drawn back to him. He was different from the others within the room. Maybe he was one of those few interesting travelers that came to Imythess.

He noticed the woman looking at him. He noded in greeting to her. He sipped his whisky then took a final drag from his pipe before extinquishing it. He then took his bottle and glass and walked over to where she was sitting. "You don't mind if I sit down?"

She had continued to sip from her glass then looked up as he approached. "Not at all... Just don't relight that pipe of yours," she added before turning her gaze back to the fire. Her clothes were beginning to dry now but she was still a little cold. "You're to Imythess I would guess.." She finally said after a few moments to break the silence. "I'm Mirazhe."

She took a sip from her wine before looking back up at him. "It depends on how far you wish to travel... There are one or two good bowsmiths within this city and then there is one in Kellen... But either way you'll have to wait until morning."

"Don't worry" said Falir taking a sip of whsiky. "I don't plan on going out there again this evening." A thought just occured to him where was he going to stay, he better find out if the inn rented out rooms. "Excuse me a moment." He walked up to the barman, "Do you rent out rooms." The barman nodded and pointed to a sighn. "Very well, I will take one night." The barman tossed him a a key. Falir went and sat back down next to Mirazhe. He drank the rest of his glass down. He had a surprisingly high tollerance to alchol. "Do you know anywhere that I could work as a mercenary?"
