Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Aislin walked into the Elfsong Tavern and looked around for a place to sit. She noticed a few Moon Elves sitting at a table by the doorway all of them looking at a map on the table. She sighed and brought a slender hand up to her pointed ears that were hidden by black hair. Aislin was half-elf and she had never really fit in with her kind. She knew her father had been an elfish prince back in the woodland realm of Dashwood in Evalon and he married her mother, the Crown Princess of Evalon. That was all she knew of her parents' history having never met them. She had been raised by humans and the only contact she recieved from her other people was at the University in Reladon but they were mostly teachers.

She sighed and hoisted her pack around on her shoulders to shift the weight as she looked around for an open table. She didn't know what the serving age here was and she had a feeling that they wouldn't serve a seventeen year old foreigner liquor of any kind. She grimaced slightly and sighed again. The tavern was packed with all sorts of races. Rangers were sitting alert and erect in booths that sat in corners of the room, their hoods up as they watched the activity around them. She saw humans sitting up at the bar, a particularly drunken man was flirting with the pretty barmaid as the bartender gave the customer a dirty look. Dwarves were singing a bawdy drinking song in the middle of the pub and she could see a few knights sitting around the fire place at the far side of the room, their armor loosened, slackened looks on their battle worn faces.

Finally a group of humans got up to take their leave, and Aislin, not wanting to let some other customer grab the table, rushed forward and sat down. She didn't care if there were still bread crumbs and bones from the veal left over from the previous dinner. At least she could rest her weary feet and put her pack down so to give her aching shoulders a rest.

"What can I get for you lass?" the barmaid Aislin had seen before asked, holding a piece of parchment and charcol out, ready to take her order.

"Just some water and whatever you have to eat," Aislin replied giving the barmaid a smile. She was probably the same age as herself and she frowned when the waitress walked past a table filled with heavly laquoured men. One of them leaned out and gave the waitress a firm squeeze on the backside. The barmaid looked back more out of anger than shock. 'I guess she's used to it' Aislin thought to herself, 'Pity.'

The barmaid came back ten minutes later with a large tankard of water, some bread, meat, vegetables and fruit. She placed it in front of Aislin who gazed at her plate hungrily before she dived in to eat her food, wondering if someone was going to take several empty seats that surrounded her.

I walked into the Elfsong Tavern, gazing disgustedly at the drunkards. I went towards a table with only a girl sitting at it. I could tell by her ears that she was an elf, and I sat gladly next to her. "Hello."
