| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"In that case," Jidai replied, "not a very long journey at all. I just came from the library here in town. But then people started levitating books and shooting crossbow bolts, so I thought I'd better leave before I got impaled by something. How about your journey, then? Have you traveled far?" |

Tilindra laughed at Jidai's description of the library I was under the impression that libraries were dull, quiet places where nothing happens. If it's really how you describe it, maybe I'll visit it one day. She took another sip of ale as she considered Jidai's question. In terms of distance, no. But I have been travelling around for several weeks. It's amazing how much there is to see in one city. |

Jidai nodded. "No two cities are the same, mostly because of the kind of people in them. Back at the library for example. There could be another building identical to it in another city, but it will still be unique for the pyros and the mentally unstable marksmen." She laughed, looking back on it. "This sure is an interesting city." |

Tilindra agreed. Tomorrow I mean to explore more of it. I will have no other commitments, and the time to enjoy myself. She unconsciously looked at the bag by her feet, pushing it further under the table with her feet. It's not sonething I get very often. What of you? Are you in the city long? She asked as she finished her drink, and motioned one of the barmaids over. |

Jidai shook her head and took another sip of her ale. "I never stay in one place for too long. The idleness gets to me. I have to keep coming and going; it's just the way I've been for the past few years. I'm not sure where I'll go next, though. Do you have any reccommendations?" |

The barmaid came over and Tilindra asked for another ale for herself and Jidai. As the barmaid was getting their drinks, she considered what she knew of the city. She could not see any of the places she had visited being of any interest to Jidai. I'm not sure really she said thoughtfully. You know what its like, you live in a place, and you never see the sights, and I've lived here a shorter time than most. I planned on exploring a bit tomorrow, but I have no idea where. I think there are some temples, which are probably nice to look at. I'd doubt they'd let the likes of me in though. |

"Temples..." Jidai said with a rueful smile. "I make a point of avoiding temples, for my own sake. Even if the priests welcomed me, I don't think the gods would. I'm looking for a place I've never been before...I was almost thinking..." Jidai scoffed at her folly. "...Ridiculous, but I've almost been thinking of going to the Underdark." |

The Underdark? Tilindra asked. That's where the dark elves are from isn't it? I don't really know much about it. Tilindra had never been one for knowledge, and knew little of the other races. Is it a dangerous place? She asked in interest. |

Jidai nodded. "That's what I've heard. The drow don't get along well at all with other races, especially ones that stumble into their territory. Dark monsters down there, too. But I've never been there before..." |

Tilindra considered this. She felt the same in some ways, and the idea of going somewhere unknown appealed to her. After all, she only had to meet her contact, and then she was free to do as she wished. If you went , what do you think you would do there? She asked casually. |

"Nothing in particular. I would go there for the sake of going there. Seeing what it's like...seeing the people there..." It was a silly idea; Jidai knew it. If she were at all related to a drow, her skin would be a lot darker. But she wouldn't be convinced until she went and found out for herself. |

I've never really gone anywhere just for the sake of seeing the place. She was beginning to be interested now. To be able to say you had been to the home of the dark elves... Tilindra had met a couple of drow, and they had both been challenging people, to go to a city of them... If you went would you go alone? Tilindra asked. She did not want to look to interested, as she wasn't sure if this was just musing or intended on Jidai's part. |

"I often travel alone," Jidai replied. "I honestly can't remember the last time I traveled with someone. Although I suppose it might be wise to have someone along whenever I decide to go. More safety in numbers when it comes to drow." |

The barmaid bought the drinks over, and Tilindra sipped at hers, enjoying the cool liquid. As she sat thinking over the conversation, she noticed that the room was emptier than before, and realised that much time had passed. She would need to be heading off to the rendezvous before long. Well, if i'm around and you decide to go, taking someone with you, look me up. I know I don't look much, but I have some skills, and I know some tricks of the dark elves. She looked at Jidai over the top of her glass, and wondered who this person was, who passed herself off as a simple traveller, but would willingly seek out drow. Maybe she was more like Tilindra, than she had first appeared. When I have finished the ale, I will have to leave. I am meeting someone soon, and they would not appreciate it if I was late. Unconciously, her hand once again reached down to the bag, as if checking it still held its contents. |

Jidai nodded. "Understood. And I will look you up if I possibly can. I think I may save that trip to the Underdark for when..." She smirked. "Well, a very 'special' point in my life." She finished off her ale and rose. "It's time I should be going, too. It was nice meeting you." |
