Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Anédien wretched as soon as she stood, throwing up sea water and bile. Her stomach churned from her intake of sea water.

Turning to look up the beach, to see if she could identify where she was, she saw some mountains in the distance, but otherwise not a whole lot more.

Her simple clothing fought against her as she trudged on exhausted legs up the sand and through the tide-pools.

There was a dark bruise around one eye and a split lip and she assumed she must have gotten it when the ship had been thrown by the waves.

Finally she got frustrated with her soaking boots, she sat and ripped them off. More than anything, she wanted to fall and sleep, but instinct told her to get out of the open.

Standing again, she made herself walk some more.

The cold of night made her begin to shiver uncontrollably. She wished for her cloak, but squashed it immediately.

Wishes do nothing, she reminded herself feircely.

Pelor approached her without a disguise. When he saw she was hurt, he blinked over right away. He was going to ask if she needed help, but then decided he didn't want a mortal's pride jeapordizing her own saftey. So he cast greater heal on her without a word. Studying her for a moment he said, "Hello, my name is Pelor, what is your's?"

The sudden appearance of the stranger made her look for a defense, but when she sawe nonthing for a weapon, she suddenly realized that her lip and eye throbbed no more. She took a deep breath, to calm the panther within.

"I am-" she suddenly cut herself off, trying to decide whether or not to give her real name, then deciding it made little difference she said, "Anédien."

Then she realized he must be a very powerful being to have healed her so quickly without her knowledge until she noticed no throbbing. She tried to decide if she should bow or not...

"Well, it is nice to meet you Anedin. Do you need any further assistance?", said the odd old man who addressed himself as Pelor. He did not completly like the look of this girl. He was tiring himself out from casting magic such as Detect Evil and Telepathy to figure her out.

"I don't think so..." she shook her head, trying to orient herself. Looking up the beach she saw plenty of drift wood from the ship, but saw nothing else.

"Were there any other survivors?" She asked.

After detecting no evil, he felt a lot more comfortable around this girl. "You are the first one I have found. I have searched the entire stretch of the beach since I saw the destruction of the ship. How did it happen?" Pelor reached into his robes and pulled out paper and quill. He would put this down in the temple archives and perform a service for those lost at sea. Or maybe leave that to the new one...

She tried to think. The night had been a blur.

"There was a storm..." she had a flash of memory, the rain lashed down cruelly on the ship. She was trying to help the men get the sails up... "I-I think we hit some rocks along the coast...I don't really remember."

Pelor wrote it all down and then turned to Anedien and nodded. "I see. How many others were on the ship?" Pelor was absolutely determined to get all of this correct. However, he did not want to strain the girl's memory. Realizing she was still shaken, he silently cast a bless spell on her to make her feel better. He had to sit down after that though and he was softly panting. So much magic would wear down on him after a while.

Feeling suddenly encouraged by the spell, the night came slowly back to her.

"There were only about fifteen others..." she didn't want to give to much information, due to the fact she had been travelling with pirates.

((I hafta go, we can continue this later I guess.))

Pelor also wrote this down quickly. His vision was slightly blurred however from the mana burn. He thought about casting heal on himself before realizing how ridiculous this was. "Thank you my child. If you need a place to stay, my temple is in the Ebon planes. It is less than a mile away from Talas city. Or there is an inn in the city. I could lead you there if you wish." Pelor began to worry about the saftey of this girl.

She hesitated a fraction of a second before saying, "I can make it to the inn I believe...is there one in Talas?" It was the only name of a town she knew, knowing it was a large port city.

"Yes. A very nice one in fact. It is called the Green Giffin. They are the only inn in Talas who put a lid on the chamber pot so it doesn't smell." Pelor said this with an odd look on his face. It was like half his mouth was curled up and the other wasn't.

She nodded thankfully, but having no intentions of going to a tavern, although it probably would be a good idea.

Pelor lay down on the sand and closed his eyes. He had been casting so much magic lately with little rest, he could barley make himself speak. "Go down the beach until you reach the city. I will assist if you get into trouble along the way. You are welcome at my temple as I said before." His snores could then be heard from a mile away.
