| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Krent had left a simple note at his home for his student, it read as such, 'I'm going on a short trip around Imythess, going to fight the current warriors of the next generation. Might pick up a few more pupils.' That was all it said, and his first stop... Balefire. He remembered Balefire in his youth, it had once been full of strong hunters and back alley warriors fighting for their daily meal, but now... now it was filled with weak looking hooligans. He had wandered into the back alleys, thinking to take in a brawl, he wore a simple purple traveling cloak over his purple gi, drawn tight around his body to shield him from the chill and hide his well muscled body, and a bamboo sedge hat to help hide his face as he kept his head down, but he had not been here for a six decades, he had no way to know that his normal fighting ring had been disbanded two decades ago. Now... a street gang had taken it over, claiming to be some up and coming gang meant to take over all of Balefire. Krent looked at them as their 'leader' spoke, a pale youth with a decent body, not bad bone structure, the hint of fangs sticking out from his mouth... oh, he was some kind of vampire. Krent began to lose interest as the man went on his tirade. Krent cut him off as the vampire was about to introduce himself, "Are you going to fight or keep on talking? You are keeping a Kensei waiting." The fool looked utterly confused... did he not know what the title was for a Master of the Supreme Sword, Golden Spear, and Divine Fist? Ah... right... this was no warrior, just a thug. The fool sent one of his thugs at Krent, a large man of considerable muscle, likely his strongest fighter in terms of pure muscle... good. Krent braced himself and shifted his stance, turning sideways and thrusting his palm out, using the man's momentum and his own solid stance to create a similar effect to a spear striking a horse. There was only a short groan as the large man fell to the ground, sprawled out on his back as Krent stepped over the body, his eyes shining with glee at the idea of fighting. He grinned as said, "Next." |

Iris whistled to herself as she made her way through the chilly streets to the arena. It was a relatively normal night; gangs were spreading, screams in the slums, and a few pops from sheriff accelerators as they quelled some disturbance or another. The hasenka's only distraction was the sound of nearby fighting. She jogged towards the interesting alley and took a quick look in, on the off chance it was a sheriff operation. They didn't much like it when Iris butted in. It was an older man, and he was a hell of a fighter. Iris went to sit on a shaded bench and instead reappeared sitting on some poor old lady's planter, crushing the ornamental grass beneath her rump. "Hey, old guy." Iris leaned on her perch, her tie fluttering in the wind. "You got this, or do you need some youthful aid?" |

He heard a young woman call out to him. He turns his head to look at her as three more people rushed him. Krent simple shrugged as he examined the newcomer, "If you want to join go ahead, while I could win alone eventually." He stopped to knock away the first attack with his wrist, ducking down to dodge another blow, and quickly spun around for a sweeping kick, taking, knocking the three of them. "But I came here to fight in some of the back alley arenas, not to waste time with weaklings. So if you could help me speed up this fight, I'd appreciate it." A quick series of stomps took care of the three, but more were still ready to fight. Krent grinned, "I am Krent Almen, Kensei of Choer." He continued, his voice raising, "I am the world's greatest martial artist! Let the real fight begin!" He rushed in, sending a short uppercut into one thug's chin, sending the foe a good foot into the air as Krent spun around, striking the thug in the stomach with an elbow strike. Krent laughed as he looked to the other thugs, cracking his knuckles, as he said, "At least make it interesting for me." |

Iris pushed off from her perch just as an irate woman called out for her to move. She landed neatly behind the group and dusted off her blazer. "Yeah, I'll speed this up!" One of the thugs raised his fists, just in time for Iris to jab. Her fist slammed against his guard, and then her head cracked into his. He cried out in pain, and Iris followed up with another quick jab to his now undefended gut. He lurched over and she smacked the side of his head with her palm. He stumbled before being put down by a knee to the face. Another of the men punched her, sending Iris lurching away before snapping back upright, just in time to take the next hit to the shoulder. She counter-punched and without putting up his guard the man punched again. They laid into each other, trading body blows until the man faltered and ran. Iris stopped. "Greatest, uh, martial artist ever, mr Almen? Really?" Iris experimentally arched her back and felt the immediate dull ache of pain that had yet to fully blossom. |

Krent watched the girl fight, she was rough, but not unskilled... or at least she had some potential. Krent turned to another two thugs, each one wielding a short club, they ran and swung. Krent chuckled, grabbing both clubs with his hands as he retorted to the girl's comment, "Yes, I am the greatest martial artist to ever live." He laughed as he swung the two thugs by their clubs, slamming them into each other and stunning them. He tore the clubs from the stunned foe's hands and proceeded to bash their heads on either side, knocking them out. Krent dropped the clubs, "I am one who has attained the title of Kensei, a true Master of Fist, Sword, and Spear. Also if you numbskulls kept up to speed about fighting tournaments, you'd know that I am a two time national Champion. The Undefeated Krent Almen." Seeing so many of their own fall, they seemed to be a bit more hesitant, Krent cracked his neck, "Now do we keep on fighting them, little girl, or do you think they'll piss their pants and run away first?" |
