Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Hong adjusted the pack on her shoulder as she continued east. Although the norther territories of Cascadia were closer than most of the rest of Imythess, the trek was still perilous. She had made most of it on her ship - the Starseeker - the weather had grown too wild for the ship to stay on a convenient course, and Hong preferred the trek on foot rather than wait for the storm to be abated.

While she was still a two hour hike away, the sun had already begun to fall. She decided that here would be as good a spot as any to make camp, and found a patch of shrubbery by which she could pitch her tent. After setting up her - honestly rather makeshift and unskilled - tent, she started a fire with shieldings as best she could from the intermittenly surging winds.

Pleiades sat on Hong's shoulder and shivered as Hong stoked the fire and placed a slab of meat on a cooking rack she had packed.

"I'm sorry, Plei. You can go back if you want. But this is important. People are desecrating the bones of the dead in attempts to gain power akin to that of the blessing of Chang'e, and probably countless other deities."

Pleiades made no response and simply hunkered down into the nuzzle of Hong's neck, hoping to sap from her the little bit of warmth she had left. Hong simply chuckled quietly at this, and continued prodding the slab of meat over the fire. After eating, she'd simply lie in her tent with one of the two books she packed and wait until she got tired before heading to bed. Hopefully, though, someone would happen upon her. This was, after all, one of the busiest routes from Striberg and other places toward the Dragon Graveyard. And if there was anything Hong loved almost as much as her children and teaching, it was company.

His breath steamed in the frozen air and the wind nipped at his weather worn cloak as he trudged silently through the mountain snows. The contract he had taken seemed simple enough, track down some bandits that were disturbing Dragon Graves and put an end to it. Leonidas could not believe that amongst the outside world there would be those that would dare to disturb the dead. That was even more taboo than what he had done.

That being said the tournament had been an eye opener as to just how much more work he had to do in order to go back. He knew the only way he could go back was to find his perfection. That being said much more time would be needed to do that. So he took this contract hoping to gain necessary experience in order to fuel the insight to find his perfection.

Adjusting his pack on his shoulders he kept on trudging forward and soon saw something on the horizon that caught him slightly off guard. Smoke curled up through sky and into the clouds. Smoke.....that meant there was a campfire. However there wasn't enough smoke for there to be more than a single fire. If there were others traveling on this road maybe they had heard of these thieves. Also it was closing in on nightfall and some sort of companionship would be welcome. With that in mind he cautiously approached the camp. As he reached the edge of the light that the fire cast he stopped and and took stock of what he could see. He knew that the lone figure he saw from behind had heard him and would be turning very soon to look upon the intruder. Knowing this he decided calling out might be the best course of action.

"Hello to the camp! Permission to join the fire?"

Having asked permission he stood waiting for permission and hoping to be able to join this person at their fire.

Hong heard the footsteps only moments before she heard the voice. She was about ready to whip her head around in surprise when a voice called out, easing her mind enough so that she turned more slowly - still quick enough to be surprised, but slowly enough to obviously not have been frightened still.

"Greetings, traveler! Indeed you can, though I, sadly, have nothing for you to sit on." Hong knew that ending a sentence with a preposition was technically incorrect, but she found that not doing so could make her sound a bit pompous on occasion, so she let the social sentence structure be instead of picking it apart.

"And lucky for you, I don't think I thought about how quickly I'd make it to the Dragon Graveyard. The slab of meat I've packed is much too large for me to finish myself before I get there tomorrow, so I can share some of that, too!"

Hong motioned to the soon-to-be-burning meat that was cooking. Hong only then realized that it might be time to take it off the fire and struggled with jabbing at the meat in an attempt to coax it off of the cooking rack and onto the metal tray she had packed as a plate.

"Would you care for some? And mayhaps a bit of conversation? Pleiades doesn't like to talk too much in this cold, poor thing."

Hong nodded ever-so-slightly toward Plei - the small fly-dragon -, who was still nuzzled in the crook of her neck.

Leonidas raised his eyebrows in surprise. This was indeed a shock on multiple levels to him. First was that a woman was traveling on such a dangerous route by herself. Second was that she was extremely polite. After the shock of how people acted in that city of Taras he had been convinced that the August Prefect of Roses was indeed correct to prohibit people from leaving the village. Finally was that she had offered him a spot by the fire and her food while traveling in such a predicament. If he refused Alexandra out of Lilian by Mekham would very well smack the snot out of him. Therefore there was only one road he could actually take.

"Thank you very much. I kindly accept your offer of mol'shonn."

After speaking Leonidas strode into the camp taking note of the small dragon curled up around the womans neck. Giving a cursory glance around he noticed there wasn't another seat. Another quick glance and he saw what he wanted. Walking over to an area just outside the fire light circle he hefted a fallen tree up with his one free arm. Setting it down near the fire he stabbed his spear into the ground point first. After that bit of business was handled he sat and produced a field plate from his pack along with a small knife. Using the knife he cut off a piece of the offered steak, then stabbed it and brought it to his camp plate. He began to cut the steak into bite sized pieces.

"I am Leonidas Borgalion out of Alexandra by Charlamange of the Densha Peoples. May I ask your prestige....no thats the wrong term. What's he common term for it? Name. May I ask your name?

Having spoken and finished his cutting he stabbed a piece and put it in his mouth. Well cooked yet still juicy. He nodded in appreciation. He would have to remember to pay her back for such an excellent meal.
