Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Sen immediately made it into the room and quietly locked it behind him, sitting on the bed in full combat gear. He looked around nervously, fidgeting with his hands as he strapped his claw to his belt. He kicked his legs against the bed, the sitting equivalent of pacing, and looked around, his red skin shining with sweat. "This is the worst."

Wynne looked at him quietly. His anxiety and frustration over the situation was blatantly obvious, without the need of her spells to understand so, the feeling of simply being near him causing her to feel a little overwhelmed by it. She grimaced, her previous joy over their current position numbed and muted when she realized this reaction of his was her fault. "Listen, Ah.. Ah didne mean tae drag ye intae thes, pure. Ah guess Ah jist... got aheid ay myself. A wee bit." She paused, and sighed. "...Yea, a lot bit. It doesnae mean much, but... aam sorry. Loch, really sorry. Ah... Ah pure dornt ken whit woods help in thes sort ay situation, but if there's anythin' at all Ah can dae, jist, uhm, tell me. Yea."

He seemed lost in thought until she spoke up. He blinked and looked up at her from the bed, his deep red skin shining in the bright light. "Hm? Oh." He looked back down at the ground, sighing quietly. "...It is nothing."

He lay back on the bed, grumbled, and quickly sat up, sighing as he removed his armor and left it on a heap on the shiny hardwood floor. The blue and green beast scale glinted in the light, along with metallic clangs and clanks as he removed the large scabbard on his back, his claw, and his dagger. All together, it must have weighed around 100 pounds.

Sen sighed and lay back on the soft, angel-feathered bed, and yawned quietly and softly. He was sleepy, and wanted to rest for a little bit. He looked back up at Wynne and sighed quietly. "Just as you are uncomfortable around demons because of personal experience, I have not had the best experience here either. Celestial does not always mean good."

He fell quiet.

Wynne stared down at the large pile of weapons and armor, blinking between him and the metal, until he spoke again, and she froze for a moment.

Her face seemed to tense a little as he spoke, though she didn't make note of it, sighing and looking away. "Aam gonnae wash up. Yea." She silently walked to the washroom, and was in there for a long while, quiet other than the sound of running water.

After about a half an hour, she emerged, her previously pale skin fresh and darkened from being out in the light. She adjusted her headdress and sat down on the other bed, facing the window and watching out of it quietly with a sigh.

Sen was nowhere to be found when she returned. He had left, quietly observing the Celestial hubbub around him. He purchased some food and went back to the hotel, stopping for a moment along the ivory street to observe the city. The main plaza was lit up, even as twilight slowly approached, with a bright light show surrounding the display of water. Celestials of various types, including angels of all types, milled around. Sen stares at the fountain, taking a step back.

The glassy, pupilless eyes focused on him from all over the plaza, glazed and rolling in their sockets like glass marbles. Their faces all stared at him. Other. You are other. We are on the right side of history. You are other.

He put one hand on his head, disguising it as a headache, as the setting twisted and warped around him. He wanted to scream and cry. You are the Enemy. The Satan. You will be extinguished for good to survive. Enemy. Other. Otherotherotherotherhehrhrhrhehdjsjsksksk-

Sen turned from the plaza and blindly stumbled down the shiny streets of heaven, his mind racing as he blindly found the hotel room and shoved into the bathroom. He tore off his smoldering cloak and threw it aside, his hands and arms, even his back smoldering and smoking and burning.

After a few moments, the flames died down and the smoke vanished as he hyperventilated, gasping and gagging on his own saliva, panting quietly.

Wynne blinked as she heard Sen rush back in and slam the washroom door shut, blinking in confusion. She got up and walked on light feet to the door, murmuring a small spell, and the rush of emotions and fear hit her hard. Wincing at the feeling, she swallowed and looked back at the door, confused. All the daemon-born she'd ever known were completely fearless, without worry or care entirely. What could have made him so afraid?

She took a deep breath and held her hand up. They may have some significant differences in very many places, but it might do some good to try and help given she'd dragged him here in the first place- and at the very least, she was a wee bit curious as to what had offset such emotions, so she tapped on the door lightly. "Oi, ur ye alrecht? Did somethin' happen?"

When he spoke, his voice came out in a quiet croak. "...I'm fine." He was surprised at how much it hurt to talk. His voice felt raw and hoarse. Had he been screaming? Sen wouldn't be surprised. That experience was absolutely horrifying.

He stepped out, taking a deep breath. "I had a bit of a scare in the plaza while I was buying dinner. Thought I had been recognized, so I bolted back here." He sighed quietly and set down the dinnet he'd brought back - simple rice and chicken curry, but made with some sort of chicken subsitute. Everyone in Celestia was a vegan, his fiendish side told him. Go figure.

He sighed and stared at the ceiling. "...You seem excited about coming here. You found this place as if on purpose. Why do you desire to come here so badly?"

She looked back at him, blinking, then shrugged. "It wasnae pure oan purpose. Am sure ye coods teel Ah practice holy spells, loch the spell Ah tried tae disarm ye wi' th' other nicht. Sae, yea, it's kin' ay every Celestia-worshippin' person's dream tae come here. But other than 'at... naethin' else pure." Her white lie was concealed well, deciding the mention of her visions wasn't quite necessary to speak about, especially not to him. "But loch Ah said afair, anywhere but Balefire. Thes jist sae happens tae be anywhwere, an e'en better anywhere than Chaon coods serve, sae wa wooldnae Ah be alrecht wi' it?"

Sen sighed. "I know that. And I understand that." He sighed softly, putting his words together in his mind before speaking aloud. "Here, you would indeed be safe from your family. There is, however, many other things that could put you at risk." He slowly sat up and yawned. "Celestia is simply a highplane version of Chaon. That is to say, they're very similar in terms of size, function, etc., except here, the plane's connection is weak. The only way they have food is through casting spells." He took a deep breath, sighing. He'd been to Celestia a few times, only fleetingly, to collect high-valued items for a client, or whatnot. "Everyone on this plane is hypertense due to the constant raging war with the Abyss. I won't go into the details, but if they suspect you for a second for being something other than Celestial, they'll report you and have you hanged." He sat up and sighed. "If you really can use holy spells, then I'd recommend to start dressing yourself up as a Celestial. On the slim chance you can become Bound like me, even better. But watch your back, okay?"

Wynne blinked, then nodded slowly. "...Aye. Okay." She stood quiet, looking down at the ground quietly and sighed softly, rubbing her face. Part of her couldn't help but feel a little bit disappointed in exactly how things had turned out so far, how little the information of her stolen books had really come into play so far. Grimacing, she turned away and walked to the window, looking out in silence down at the streets, looking over the people with pursed lips. She knew she could try a spell that would help, as shaky as she was with it, and maybe if she succeeded in that, she would be able to keep her headpiece without suspicion. The idea of discarding her covering made her uncomfortable, to say the least, considering how long she'd kept it through everything, despite how her guardians- if you could call them that- felt about her faith. She had lasting bruises and marks on her legs to prove that. No, the head covering would definitely stay. She would cross the bridge over that spell once it came to leave again. With a sigh, she turned away from the window and laid down on the bed, covering her eyes with her forearms in silence.

Sen sighed quietly. "I'm going to bathe." He left quietly and entered the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

The hot water glistened on his red skin. Sen sighed quietly and closed his eyes, sighing as the warmth of the water comforted him. He yawned softly and sighed, leaning back against the wall. Could he make it out of here? As soon as another rift opened to Chaon or the Abyss, he was out of there. He was more than ready hop through the next rift he saw. There was a chance he could use a spell and open a Planar Rift to the Plane of Fire, but his inner flame - or whatever he had that gave him control over flame and temperature - was not strong enough yet. He sighed and yawned before stepping out in a towel, putting on a shirt and trousers and stepping out again, into the room.

Night had fallen over Celestia, but even night was not dark here. The starlight shone brightly down on the street and the native residents' natural holy light shone brightly as they passed. Sen grumbled. Sneaking around until the curfew had ended was still absolutely impossible. That would be annoying.

"What are you going to do?" His voice was quiet as he watched the window.

Wynne was silent for a long few moments, before moving her arms away from her face and sighing softly. "Ah dornt hae any idea. Ah dornt pure rely oan plannin', nae loch mah mum did. Eh'd like tae bide here, if possible, though. Ance Ah figure it how tae blend in a bit better, ah dunnae kinn, fin' a way tae make some gold sae Ah can bide a wee longer. Dae ye think they hae temples here? Ah hope they dae, Ah coods still be a priestess an' everythin'." She smiled softly as she stared up at the ceiling. "Ah ken ye dornt feel any bit th' sam. That's fine. Ah'll pay ye whenever ye fin' a way tae gang aff. But aam stayin'."

"...Okay." He seemed to be thinking quietly, but nodded. "Hm. Okay. That might actually work." He sighed quietly and sat down on his bed, seeming deep in thought. "Okay. I have a plan, then." He looked up at her quietly. "If we're to make it through here, I will probably have to tag along. But... yeah." He sighed quietly. "We need some sort of plan, or disguise."

"I might know a spell 'at can help wi' th' disguise part. I've ne'er had tae use it afair, sae aam likely pure rusty, but it's worth a shot." She sighed softly. "But Ah dornt think Ah can use it oan other folk. Ah main be able tae teach it tae ye, at th' very leest. It shoods allow ye tae alter yer appearance, at leest a wee bit, sae ye won't be tay obvioosly daemonic. That's likely uir best bit there." After a moment, she sat up, adjusting the cloth over her hairline and looking at him. "Anythin' else?"

He sighed. "Okay. We need gold anyways. Teach me the spell," he said with a sigh, sitting on the ground. His Primal wyvern manifested out of thin air, sitting on the ground next to him. It fluttered up to Wynn, looking at her curiously with bright blue eyes. Sen looked at it, before looking up at Wynne, whistling and clicking. The wyvern whistled and clicked back, before flying over to Sen. Thg ey had some sort of conversation before the wyvern flew back, perching on Wynne's shoulder, whistling and clicking. "He says hi," Sen said with a smooth voice, a hint of a smile on his face.
