| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"Major Illusion," she said breathlessly, smiling a little through her pants and huffs- it was clear she wasn't in great shape. "Ah tauld ye Ah hud min' abilities. Whit, did ye hink awl Ah could dae was pick up jobbie wi' mah min'?" She sat down on the ground and tilted her head back, rubbing her brow bone with a soft sigh. The pale skin of her face was flushed pink from the combination of activity, and it seemed that her headpiece and heavy clothing didn't help with her heat regulation. She laid back on the ground, her arms spread out on the ground to give her chest some room to breathe, and her breaths steadied quickly. |

Sen leaned against the tree, looking around. "Well. That is certainly handy." He sighed and sat down. "I wish to avoid fighting unless necessary. I would prefer not draining my mana pool." He looked around and crossed his arms before sighing quietly. After a while, he took a seat and drew his dagger, beginning to whittle away at the wood quietly. He sharpened the stick into a fine point and pushed it into the ground. "...Let's keep moving." |

She watched him carve away at the wood in silence, before blinking and nodding, sitting up and straightening her cloak and headpiece, looking down at her feet. She frowned as she realized the hem of her dress had been torn and ripped nearly to shreds from the flats of her feet up to her ankles, and sighed softly. If her family did somehow get out this far, they would beat her senseless for being so careless with herself. The idea caused her to cringe. All the more reason to make sure she would never be found. Silently, she began walking again. |

Sen was quiet as they walked for the rest of the trip. Finally, they reached the small outpost. He paid the fee quietly for a room with two single beds, and sat down quietly once they reached the bedroom. "Hope you don't mind," he said quietly, looking around the cramped room, dimly lit in the night. "I can't afford to get seperate rooms. You understand the risk." He sighed and removed his cloak and weapons and lay back, closing his eyes. He pointed at the lanterns that hung from the ceiling, dimly lighting the room, and they brightened, becoming hotter and brighter. He sighed and nodded. "Better." |

Wynne gave a short nod and unclasped her cloak, lying on the bed quietly. She blinked rapidly as the lanterns brightened, and was reminded in that moment of her dream from the night before- she'd nearly forgotten about it in only a short half of a day. Her lips pursed as she thought back to it, concentrating hard on what she'd seen. The only things she could remember were the exact things she had gone over that morning, and still, no connections stood out to her. Perhaps she'd just have to hope for a recurring dream out of this, and maybe she'd pay a little closer attention this time. With a sigh, she turned on her side, away from Sen. "Ah think aam gonnae sleep," she said shortly, squeezing her eyes shut and curling up on top of the covers. |

He sighed and dimmed the lights slowly and nodded to her. "Understood." He turned around and fell into a deep sleep. That night, all he could feel was a sudden rush of exhiliration, the feeling of something horrible attacking him. He fought back with all his might, unable to see or hear anything. He simply kicked and scratched and fought, harder and harder and harder. That morning, he jumped out of bed, lunging forward as if ready to attack. He panted, wiping his forehead, and looked around slowly. |

Wynne was still asleep until the point she heard the sudden rustling from the bed over and blinked her eyes awake, turning over onto her other side and blinking at him blearily. "Guid day, whit in Gods' nam is yer problem? Ye swatch loch ye jist saw a bloody ghost." She sat up, looking around, one side of her face rubbed red from sleepily on it. "...Was someain in here er somethin'? Did ye see somethin' Ah didne?" |

"It's nothing," he said quietly. "Ignore it and keep moving." He sighed quietly and crossed his arms before sliding out of bed and collecting his items. "Let's find food and leave as soon as possible." He fastened his armor to his body and put on his cloak, fastening his claw weapon to his hip and flicking the claws into the glove. He sighed and adjusted his gear. "Whrn are you ready to go?" |

Wynne was already up, fastening her cloak around her neck with a sigh and adjusting her headpiece over her hairline as she began to walk out the door, calling over her shoulder. "Reit now!" She didn't seem to feel like waiting right then, as she was out the door and back out in the fresh air in a matter of minutes before she finally stopped, looking back and taking a small quarter-turn to make sure he was following. |

He nodded quietly and began walking. They left the trading post, and as he did, he fastened the claw back onto his hand, looking around. "In two days' time, we will reach a larger city." His voice was quiet. "It's more like a town, but the border between the material and high planes is weak. We'll be resting and restocking supplies there. I would personally prefer somewhere else, but there's no choice." He fell silent as he continued walking, still on edge from a certain nightmare. |

She blinked and looked up at him, quiet as he mentioned the weakness in the town. She didn't speak on it, but that point most definitely made her very intrigued. Perhaps once they made it there, she could look more into that- of course, what that entailed, she didn't really know, but it could be... an interesting experience? Falling silent, she watched the back of his head in contemplative silence. As much as she wished to know what was ailing him, she decided it wasn't likely any of her business. She remembered for a moment what a punishment for talking out of line would be with her aunt- she could almost feel the sharp sting of a bullwhip on her calf. That forced her mind to ease very quickly. |

They kept walking for a while, Sen feeling a little hungry as they kept walking. Finally, his stomach began to rumble loud enough thay he simply couldn't ignore it anymore. He groaned and stopped, eyes darting around as he observed the forested area around him. The trees were covered with ivy, and the forest ground around them was littered with large stone outcroppings. He crossed his arms and sighed. "Let's find some water. I need some meat right now." He began walking east, contemplative as he thought about the journey ahead of them. He stopped at the stream, still thinking, and quietly waited for fish to pass by, dagger unsheathed as he patiently waited. |

Wynne sat a few feet away, looking down at the tattered hem of her multi-layered dress in silence. She wondered for a moment if she would have to get rid of it at the post- it was a somewhat precious thing to her, a dress of her mother's that her aunt had hidden away thinking Wynne would never find it. Stupid woman. She leaned back quietly, waiting for Sen to catch his food and eat so they could begin moving again. |

He found a fish and deboned it quickly before taking it in his hand. Heat began to radiate out from him, until he was about as hot as a campfire. The fish cooked in his hand and stabbed it onto a stick, biting down into it as he nodded. "Apologies," he said shortly as he looked back at her, before cooling down, taking a sip of the water, getting up and continuing to move. He continued walking for a while, a little apprehensive about being attacked again. Night came, and he knew to be especially on edge now, hearing the brush rustle here and there. Something was coming. |

She forced herself to not mind every little sound made in the night, staring straight ahead with a set expression. Underneath her cloak, however, her hand was poised in case she needed to use a spell, her fingers twitching slightly as she held them as still as possible. She couldn't help but stop as she heard movement in the brush right beside them, looking at it with a side glance silently. When nothing came of it, she sighed softly and closed her eyes, continuing to walk. |
