| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Wynne blinked at the white and teal wyvern, her eyes wide with curiosity and the same awe as when she first saw it, looking between Sen and the small creature. She was quiet, before waving in a small, subtle manner, murmuring a soft, awe-stricken "hullo" to the small dragon, her lips parted slightly in a small, open mouth smile. She'd never seen a creature like this up-close, but now, she was incredibly happy she knew what she was missing out on. |

The wyvern purred and clicked as it looked up at Wynne. Its scales burned and shifted colors between white and blue constantly, and bits of energy seemed to rise up off of its back like flame. "He's... like an elemental of raw magic. It's more complicated than that, but that's the long and short of it." He purred and clicked a translation to the wyvern, who looked at Wynne and pressed one foot against her. The talons were withdrawn, and the feeling was like a warm, comfortable blanket. Underneath, the volatility of raw mana could be felt like a torrential storm. Sen nodded. "You can hold him and pet him. He assures you he's not dangerous unless I want him to he. Go on." |

She looked back at the wyvern with the same lost-for-words expression, before closing her mouth and tentatively holding her finger out to run it over the small dragon's snout gently, a slightly worried reluctance in her movements in case she set something off. Smiling a little, she gently rubbed the bridge of its snout, tilting her head. "Oh, gosh. 'E's adorable. 'E is very adorable." |

The wyvern closed its eyes and purred, clicking lazily as it rubbed its face against her finger. Sen sighed and crossed his arms with a smile. "He's saying he likes you. That's good, at least. He's a relatively good judge of character." He watched quietly, the white-blur aura burning around his body. |

Wynne blinked, looking at Sen with wide eyes. "He... he likes me...?" She asked, holding a hand to her heart and sniffing, before running her finger along its back gently. "Aye... thes is a true highest honur. Ah willnae lit ye down, frien." She broke into a wide smile, moving her finger to rub underneath the dragon's chin gently. |

Sen laughed, a surprisingly melodic sound, fingering with the charms on his wrist. There were thirteen in total, bright little white orbs. He smiled and sighed softly. "If I need to use magic here, I'll be using whatever Aetherist ability I can. He'll be out for a while." The wyvern purred and rolled around in her lap, its wings folding out, waiting to be pet. |

She smiled down at the wyvern, rubbing underneath its chin and down to its chest, nodding slowly as she listened to him. "Perfectly braw by me. Ah woods be alrecht wi' any time wi' thes bairn," she said, running her finger along the bones of its wings carefully. |

“That reminds me-“. Sen paused and sighed quietly. “Your accent. It isn’t very... Balefirean. It sounds like it’s from somewhere in the highlands, maybe Debon. Why is that? I thought you were a Balefirean native after all. It just seems a little strange to me.” The Shroud - what he called his wyvern - rolled around in her lap, clicking and whistling and purring softly. He watched it with a soft expression, sighing and smiling. |

She looked at Sen, blinking. "Ah, Ah wooldnae ken. Ah assume Ah picked it up frae mah mother, since th' [REDACTED] in Balefire dornt gab loch me. But my folks have bin gain for a while now, sae Ah doubt Ah'll get tae ken. Best nae tae fash yerse about it tay much, it'll jist drive me a bampot." She sighed softly, her hands slowing a little over the wyvern's scales. "Maybe it is frae Debon. Mebbe 'at is where she was frae. Celestia knows, Ah suppose, if Ah coods spick a damn word ay theirs. But aam nae frae Balefire. Mah faither micht nae hae bin either, ah dunnae kinn, it was tay long ago tae ken, really. But some parts ay th' family flocked there an' that's th' part Ah got stuck wi'." Her voice had an edge of bitterness to it with the last sentence, before she looked down at the Wyvern and sighed softly. |

"I could drink to that," Sen said coolly, calling the Wyvern back to his arm with a couple clicks. It flew back and clicked and whistled. Sen listened, quiet for a moment, before whistling and purring back. The wyvern jumped onto his head and curled up, closing its eyes. "Hm. He says that he sees the blood of a Celestial in you." Sen looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "...That certainly is something." |

Wynne stopped and looked at the two of them, blinking rapidly, before snorting, and then breaking out into full laughter for a full minute. Finally, she shook her head, wiping her face and smiling. "Oh- och mah god- that's, that's a real funay a body. Swatch, Ah loove th' wee bairn an' aw, but Ah hae nae idea where he coods hae figured 'at it. Honestly, 'at... wow. 'At was guid. Ah needed a wee laugh efter 'at sad spiel." She shook her head with a smile, adjusting the cloth of her headpiece, and sighed. |

The Shroud clicked and looked down at him and Sen launched into a frustrated series of whistles and clicks back. The wyvern made a sound similar to a sigh as it laid its head down and went back to sleep in Sen's messy hair as Sen sighed. "Mm. Fair enough. Anyways, as I was saying, we need to find that temple tomorrow. Then, we bide our time, until a portal opens. Give me your payment and I'll be off," he said with a small sigh. |

She nodded slowly, remembering the temple from her visions in vivid detail and sighing. There was something particular about that one that intrigued her, so she settled to herself that she'd seek out that specific one. "Alrecht, 'at soonds fair enaw tae me. 'En that's whit we stick wi'." She sighed and leaned back on the bed, looking up at the ceiling with a huff, her cheeks flushed still from laughing so hard. She couldn't help but crack a small smile again at how ridiculous the idea of it was. "Maybe it woods be best tae gie some shut-eye, aye? Ah will, at leest." She stretched, yawning, and turned on her side, away from Sen. "Kip well, mate." With that, she fell quiet. |

"Goodnight," he answered quietly. His Shroud faded, causing the soft blue-white aura around him to disappear as he stood and crawled into his bed. He closed his eyes, raising his own body temperature for warmth, his inner flame brightening until it was like a campfire. The next morning, he sat up in bed, his hair askew and one eye still closed. His shirt had come off sometime during the night, so his red upper body was exposed to the cooling air. He sighed and closed his eyes, falling back against the bed. It had been so long since he had last slept in a proper bed - he wanted to sleep for a long while. Quietly, he rested, lowering his body temperature as he stared out at Celestia, which was being painted golden pink by the sunrise. |

Wynne was already up, sitting in the middle of her bed with her knees pulled up to her chest, her head resting on her knees. She'd been up since very early that morning, if only by force of habit, leaving her with small circles under her eyes from the lack of proper sleep. The dream of the night before still played over her vision translucently, making her view of the real world foggy and unclear. She'd dreamed of that same gold-and-ivory temple, only this time, her mother was gone, and the same golden-hued person was instead speaking to himself in that same language. The blinding aura of his light had been toned down slightly, revealing a man of golden-hued skin with a halo and wings of pure light, though the dream didn't progress from that. She blinked as she heard Sen shuffle, glancing back for a quick moment, before turning her head back to gaze out the window quietly. As nervous as it made her, today was the day to get to work. |
