Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Prerequisites Checklist:

  • Who am I? Ifrita
  • Is this character active, at least a few weeks old and unlikely to be removed in the near future? Yes
  • Do I have at least 150 gold sitting on this character's account? Yes

Why should you accept this custom PrC concept?
This dual-element mage class is for those who wish to harness the offensive destruction of fire with the defensive wall that is earth. While neither is a stronger element than the other, the combined result will add a new meaning to the term "natural disaster". Ifrita herself comes from an area of the Plane of Fire surrounded by magma. To gain power over it is to attain the power of her ancestors.

Name of PrC Lavamancer
Custom PrC: Ifrita

Lava: destroyer and builder. Few can harness the most destructive power found in nature. Even fewer can withstand it. Take hold of primal fire and earth, and reshape your reality as well as your opponents.

All abilities in the cPrC are magical.

Prerequisites

  • 50g in spells from the fire shop
  • 50g in spells from earth shop
  • Adept Arcana

<This is where your pricing table will go.>

Level One

  • Volcanic Affinity: Grants the Lavamancer immunity to natural lava and molten rock, and slight resistance to magical fire and earth.

  • Lava Wave: The ground splits open in front of the Lavamancer, pulling a low wave of molten lava from the ground 5 feet in height and 15 feet wide. The wave travels up to 15 feet but can be cooled and hardened in place by the Lavamancer before then. Contact with the wave in molten form deals slight fire damage and any caught in the wave after it is hardened are rooted for 1 post before the stone becomes brittle. The wave is too slow to affect moving targets.

Level Two

  • Volcanic Armor: The Lavamancer gains ability to form armor out of molten rock, adding resistance similar to medium armor. Water attacks against the armor will cause it to cool, halting movement of the affected area but hardening it for 1 post. Hardened armor acts as heavy armor.

Level Three

  • Lava Cannons: At the Lavamancer's command, two volcano cannons emerge from the ground. The cannons fire a spread of molten rocks in a 15 foot cone, dealing heavy earth damage and moderate fire damage. Cannons can alternate blasts, and each can be fired every 2 post but cannons cannot change position.

  • Rock Collection: The Lavamancer pulls a molten spike from the ground that rapidly cools and hardens. The spike is 5ft long and can be pulled up at any angle. Deals moderate damage to soft targets (flesh-based targets) and heavy damage to structures. This ability causes moderate mana fatigue.

Level Four

  • Molten Aegis: The Lavamancer encases themselves in a sphere of lava. Sphere extends 5 feet out, and any who make physical contact with the shield take moderate fire damage. The sphere is majorly draining on mana and cannot be maintained more than one post

Level Five

  • Eruption: The Lavamancer draws forth the powers of destruction, summoning a miniature volcano 25 feet in height in a target area. The volcano erupts, spewing lava 50 feet into the sky and raining it across a 50 foot area for 3 posts. Deals heavy fire damage, but only slight fire damage on subsequent posts. Those in the affected area are knocked to the ground from the initial seismic activity. This ability can be cast once per combat and causes major mana fatigue.

I am new at this, mate, so I might be doing it wrong. Here's my suggestions.

Level 2, Volcanic Armour: I take it that this doesn't stack with any other armour a character may be wearing (I am guessing you are going with none for Ifrita). I like the give and take with water. How long does the volcanic armour last? Is it something that's an always on thing? If not, it might need a duration. If it is something that needs recasting, maybe you could add slight fire damage to anyone connecting with it with a melee weapon, and minor if they're thumping it barehanded?

Level 3, Lava Cannons: I reckon they need a duration as well, mate, otherwise you could cast them at the start of a thread and they're still spitting out magma a couple of pages later.

Other than that, it looks good to me?

Level 2, Volcanic Armor: The Lavamancer gains ability to form armor out of molten rock, adding resistance similar to medium armor. The added armor replaces currently worn armor in affected area, Water attacks against the armor will cause it to cool, halting movement of the affected area but hardening it for 1 post. Hardened armor acts as heavy armor. Minor fire damage if struck by flesh. Ability lasts 4 posts.

(adding fire damage to melee is too similar to primal fist)

Lava Cannons: At the Lavamancer's command, two volcano cannons emerge from the ground. The cannons fire a spread of molten rocks in a 15 foot cone, dealing heavy earth damage and moderate fire damage. Cannons can alternate blasts, and each can be fired every 2 post but cannons cannot change position. Each cannon can only be fired twice before breaking and only be cast once per combat. Cannot be used in cold environments or on the water.

Hey, sorry, you can only have one custom PrC in review so please select one of these two you've made for further review.

Dark Knight is my priority cPrC, apologies. I can re-submit this at a later date.
