Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Prerequisites Checklist:

  • Who am I? Sen Montague
  • Is this character active, at least a few weeks old and unlikely to be removed in the near future? Yeppity yep!
  • Do I have at least 150 gold sitting on this character's account? Yes I do!

Why should you accept this custom PrC concept?
This PrC is what I feel is a really good class for those who don't want to just blast others with magic from afar and instead want to get up close and personal, which is a really good fit for Sen himself, since he uses both weapons, unarmed combat, and magic to fight. Also beserkers are awesome!

Rageflame Beserker
Custom PrC: Sen Montague

While many a great mage have learned to control their rage and prevent it from clouding their decisions, it is your greatest strength. You have learned to let it flow through you, and now, no one is able to escape the heat of your fury.

Abilities listed are all magical.
Prerequisites

  • Skill: Unarmed Combat of any level

<This is where your pricing table will go.>

Level One

  • Simmering Fury: Description. Your anger burns beneath the surface of your skin, presenting itself in your eyes as a black-purple glow. Your offensive spells are given a bit more destructive power and your fists are strengthened slightly by your pure rage.

Level Two

  • Flame of Rage:Your fire burns with a new purple-black color and are given a boost in both explosive power and burn intensity. You also feel less pain from being damaged by magical fire or weapons enchanted with fire magic, and the rage in your eyes becomes even more evident, until it burns as brightly as a lamp.

  • Searing Fists: Your stamina and strength is boosted far beyond that of a normal member of your species, thanks to the overwhelming mana flowing through you. You can now throw a flurry of quick but destructive punches that can only be used once per every two posts. If you hit your target with the last hit of the flurry, a moderate burn is left on the target.

Level Three

  • Burning Charge:Building up mana for a single post, you draw your inner rage out into an explosion. After charging your mana and anger, you channel it around your body in a flaming aura as you give a single full-on charge towards your target. If you hit your target, extensive physical damage is dealt to the target, along with moderate to severe burns.

  • Summon Tracker Flames:You can summon a medium-size purple flame in each hand which immediately seeks out your opponent with moderate speed and does damage similar to Fireball. The spell can be cancelled with Counterspell or by using water magic to put the flame out.

Level Four

  • Bar-Rage: This spell can take on two variations. The first can occur on a grounded target, in which case you can jump into the air, boosted by flame and while in the air, release a barrage of fireballs before using your flame to propel into your target with explosive power, damaging them severely. The second takes place with an airborne opponent - you hit the target with a full power fireball volley before boosting yourself at your target and hit them with explosive damage, blowing them out of the sky. This technique has a two post cooldown, and can potentially be avoided if the target has the Agility skill at Journeyman level.

Level Five

  • Purple Rageflame Overdrive: You enter into a true berserker mode. Your body is wreathed with a constant purple and black flame, and you discard all weapons as your fists become hardened with flame. Charging at any and all enemies, you throw fireballs, punches, and kicks as you attempt to incinerate every enemy in sight. Your flame spells are strengthened to incredible levels and all cooldowns on abilities are halved. Every physical hit you give your enemy gives them moderate burns but severe physical damage. You also possess the ability to temporarily boost your speed by shooting out flames from behind you. Weapons and spells only slightly slow you down while you are in this mode, and you are all but oblivious to pain, though you still take physical damage. However, after exiting this state, you are extremely exhausted, which lasts for about as many posts as the state was active, unless you posses Athletics at Master Level, at which point the cooldown is reduced by two posts. Also, any wounds and damage that you sustain while in Overdrive mode take effect when you exit the mode, and must be healed before you can enter the mode again.

Level One:

Simmering Fury: Please make sure to use the mild/moderate/major descriptors when defining bonuses or penalties in abilities. Taking into account I am thinking you mean a mild bonus to spell damage and a mild bonus to Unarmed Combat damage, this would need to be an activated ability. As a latent effect, it is too strong for a level one ability.

Level Two:

Flame of Rage: I am unsure what you mean by " are given a boost in both explosive power and burn intensity." Fire resistance is fine, although I must say there are other sources of fire resistance and immunity already out there, which means you could nix this ability and use the ability slot for something else if you wish to.

Searing Fists: Again, please use mild/moderate/major descriptors for stat bonuses and penalties. Judging from wording, you are going for a large boost here to strength and speed, and dealing moderate fire-based damage. This is a level two ability, you would need to pick one of these effects, but not both. Also, I must remind you that magical effects don't stack; Simmering Fury and Searing Fists are two similar abilities in your ability tree, but Searing Fist would overwrite and cancel Simmering Fury if activated at the same time. You may want to have one or at most two abilities with similar effects, so you can broaden the range of buffs or abilities available to you in the name of variety/entertainment.

Level Three:

Burning Charge: Extensive physical damage coupled with severe burns for a level three ability is too much, it needs to be decreased in intensity, or the ability moved to a different level. This ability will also need a use limiter, although I cannot give you a suggestion as the ability reads now. Toned down, perhaps twice per fight? Once per opponent with a mana fatigue/physical fatigue factor?

Summon Tracker Flames: It might be best to find a different ability if this one mimics a spell in the shops so closely. It is often best to try and find abilities for a cPrC that are unique and cannot be obtained, or at least not easily obtained, via the shop system.

Level Four:

Bar-Rage: The amount of damage you can inflict might be a bit much for this, but is more on par with a level 4 ability. A two post cool down is too much though; this either needs a use limiter or a fatigue {mana, physical) limiter to avoid spam usage, given it IS a bit powerful.

Level Five:

Purple Rageflame Overdrive: There are far too many effects going on here, and many of them are too strong even for an apex ability.

  • Free Fireballs
  • Major strength increase to fire-based spells.
  • Ability cooldowns halves [Probably not applicable in revised edition]
  • Moderate burns on hit [Unlimited]
  • Major physical damage on hit [unlimited]
  • Unquantified speed boost [unlimitied]
  • Pain Resistance/Ignoring

There is no duration listed for this ability, and there needs to be one even after it is clipped down some. Mitigating negative effects of using this ability with skill levels which you should and probably will have automatically is not really productive in allowing the level of insanity in this ability :D

Overall: You have a tight niche, but I think you could be a little more inventive within your chosen niche here. Some of these abilities are represented to one degree or another by other PrC's [Infernos] or spells available in the shops [Fire Magic; Tattoo shop]. There are some themes that repeat [Strength/speed boosts] that you could probably replace with other effects.

However, if you want to work with what you have, we can. We will need to prune some of these abilities back rather harshly, though, as they are WICKED strong :D

A new version with Aey's suggestions taken into account! Also I made some personal tweaks to the abilities!

Prerequisites Checklist:

  • Is this character active, at least a few weeks old and unlikely to be removed in the near future? Yeppity yep!
  • Do I have at least 150 gold sitting on this character's account? Yes I do!

When an incantation is uttered, your fire spells are given a mild boost in destructive power, and this effect lasts for two posts. After doing this, you must wait another post before you can utter the incantation again.

Level Two

  • Aura of Rage: While angry, you automatically summon a purple aura around you that gives your allies a mild boost in endurance and a mild boost to speed which lasts for three posts. This aura cannot be used after four posts of being active, and requires a one post cooldown

  • Searing Ora-Ora: You can throw a barrage of punches that deal moderate physical damage and mild burn damage. These punches have a bit of recoil, giving you wounds on your knuckles that heal over a duration, meaning that this move can only be used at most, three times before a cooldown of three posts.

Level Three

  • Burning Charge:Building up mana for a single post, you draw your inner rage out into an explosion. After charging your mana and anger, you channel it around your body in a flaming aura as you give a single full-on charge towards your target. If you hit your target, moderate physical damage is dealt to the target, along with moderate burn damage. However, you suffer recoil from this charge, giving you moderate burns along your torso, which must be treated before you can use the move again. Wounds can be treated with Heal, or by using a healing item. After healing, you must wait two posts before you are able to use this move again.

  • Armor of Rage: For one use every fight, you give yourself armor that is able to take one lethal hit. After you utter the incantation, your body is cloaked in ghostly purple fire that dissipates after you are dealt any physical damage. Be careful as to how you use this ability, as it cannot be used again until the fight is over.

Level Four

  • Hammer from the Heavens: Boosting yourself with flames into the air, you come down towards the ground with a hard impact, creating a purple shockwave that deals moderate damage and mild burn damage. Those caught directly in the strike are dealt heavy physical damage and burning.
However, the user also experiences severe mana fatigue, and they cannot use spells for three posts, and this ability can only be used twice per fight.

Level Five

  • Purple Rageflame Overdrive: You enter into a true berserker mode. During this mode, the effectiveness of any armor you are wearing is greatly enhanced, allowing you to be more enduring of physical damage dealt to you. During this ability, you are also able to deal heavy melee damage to any and all opponents. Melee damage deals severe physical damage and moderate burn damage. This ability lasts for about four posts, and the user has severe mana fatigue after using it, causing the user to be forced to wait three posts to use mana again. This ability can only be used once per fight, but can be force-activated if the user is extremely enraged (such as losing someone close to them in a fight). Then, the ability can be used again, but the effects of cooldown are doubled - six posts of total mana fatigue instead of three. The ability can only be force-activated once after using it normally.

Minor points:

Usage limits should he expressed either in uses per battle or uses per so many posts. It keeps abilities cleaner and less cluttered.

I should also point out that Raging Berserker will give more rage options than what you have listed here.

1: two rounds out of three is fine, but a little complex. Maybe up to every other round? Also, this ability is actually worse than the Infernos ability inner fire.

2: Aura of rage: so....this has 5 rounds between uses? Three round duration for a level two is a little much, maybe drop it to two rounds. This doesn't affect the user, correct?

Burning Ora Ora: Fine. Attacks can be duplicated with Flaming weapon enchantment and standard attacks, as well as probably Primal Fist fire branch.

3: is ok, can be duplicated by flaming enchantment paired with Meteoric Strike from Ancient Ascetic off.

Armor of rage: duplicated to some degree by magic shield from durothils shop. Only added bonus is maybe being able to absorb epic hits. Also, does this need to be active in advance or is this something you can us on the fly?

4: same as burning charge. Shockwave effect is only real difference.

5: Severe damage needs to be changed to heavy. Armor effectiveness will he taken as damage mitigation. We we have moderate/major damage mitigation + all attacks cause heavy melee damage + moderate fire damage? A concern here would be stacking this with a martial Prc set of abilities. It is not possible to stack magical buffs....but stacking this with, say, Takedown would be ridiculous.

I would recommend changing abilities to make them more unique but it is not required, just a suggestion. Keep in mind you get 1 cPrC per character!
