Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Hearne stood at the edge of the celebrations, eying the villagers warily. He was visibly stunned, a wil animal in a noisy crowd. His senses were overwhelmed by the sheer mass of people, sounds and scents washing over him like a tidal wave. His features were hardened, heart picking up. An interesting response, he noted about himself. It had been some time since he'd been among so many others.

The celebrations were in full swing. Wincing at the sensory overload as minstrels picked up a new song, he touched two fingers to his breast and triggered an enchantment. The core reacted by triggering several glands, releasing his own magic toxin. The substance dampened his magic, blocking any attempts to use it. He could still feel it there, but it was no longer heightening his senses quite so acutely. The ambient glow of so much living energy and noise lowered and he visibly relaxed.

“Gods be, I need a drink.” Hearne declared to Shirine, his companion to the villages for the Harvest festival this day. He clapped his hands together and scanned the crowd, picking out a server distributing mugs. Grinning mischievously, he slipped in and took a mug with one hand, other hand sneaking a pinch on the attractive young elf's rear. He dodged a swing with suspiciously well-practiced reflex and vanished in the crowd, winding his way back to the were-tigress.

Trying the beer, he swished it around a little and his eyebrows furrowed. “Nearly thick enough to chew. Like drinking bread. Damned good, though.” He tipped the mug, draining it with unnatural swiftness. He searched for another tray of mugs to swap his empty one out for a fresh cup, but they seemed to be expertly avoiding him. Word seemed to have gotten around already.

The music picked up for a new song, something light and jovial stirring the crowd into motion. “Care for a dance?” He asked Shirine, gesturing to the bard singing an old tavern song. He didn't know her terribly well, for the most part avoiding her around the grove. Animal instincts were deep-set in him and his, and he had claimed the territory as a beast. Shirine was a challenger to that territory, even if she didn't intend to be, and as such he managed to avoid most contact. His dealings were mostly through Volare and the varied messengers at his disposal. The visit to the festival was a sorrt of peace offering, an attempt to learn a bit more about the woman.

It had been a long time since Shirine had been to a harvest festival. She was in her elven form and she had forced her outfit to shift several times before finding something it would shift into that was semi reasonable. She had gotten good at controlling it for normal clothes, but nice clothes was a little harder as she was not used to wearing them too often. She ended up with a red Cheongsam. It was a little revealing, but it looked nice and she could move easily if needed. She also made sure to wear a little extra underneath just encase, but that was hidden unless someone purpose tried to take advantage of the dress. Still it did mean she didn't move quite as fast as she normally did. A matching pair of shoes finished the outfit. She had her long hair was free a loose, though well combed and mostly behind her. The fire red hair stood out even against the red and gold dress. She got quite a few looks as she was a little over dressed for a festival, but a few other elves had similarly nice outfits. Living for a long time meant you had time to acquire some nicer things. However, she returned cold looks to those who looked and the killing intent she could give off as a practiced fighter often scared off the stupid men. People had survival instincts after all.

She was going with Hearne to see if she could get to know the druid a bit more. Plus the guy needed to get out and learn how to deal with people. With their mercenary camp getting quite full of people he had to get used to crowds. Well maybe not crowds this size, but she felt this would do him good.

She also had felt his need to be the alpha ever since they first met. Rationally she knew there could be two leaders, but the beast side of her refused to back down completely. She had also tried to avoid contact, but ... well he was Volare's teacher and he had helped with starting to build the camp. The druid's skills were impressive. He was at least a worth rival.

She could sort of sense his unease at first, but he managed to calm himself a little it seemed. She nodded to his desire to get a drink. She moved to get one herself from a different server. She turned around in time to see him dodging a swing. She had to admit the server was quite pretty. Though Shirine had Volare so she only looked a little. She downed her own drink along with Hearne when he got back. "Yes quite a good brew. I suspect many members of the company will be partying here once they learn of this lovely little village."

She had to laugh as he tried to replace his bear only to be avoided by the waitress with expert ease. Though the sight soon ended as he gave up for the moment and asked her to dance. She hadn't expected this, but decided quickly. "Well alright we can dance, but no extra touching or I will take over as lead and then we can have a long chat wit that one waitress which seems to have black listed you."

She smiled a predatory grin up at him. It was a challenge to see how well he could behave. She would have to hold back her own instinct to take the lead too. She extended her arm a bit let him take them out to the dancing area.

Hearne bowed his head to the side, showing a small amount of throat as a gesture of respect. “I'd like to have a nice long... chat with that one.” He caught the woman's eye through the crowd. He shot her a wink and she puffed out her cheeks, turning her back on him and moved on. Chuckling warmly, he reached out his hand and set his other on Shirine's waist, appreciating the fine material underhand. He inhaled, a more polite method of sniffing out a particular scent. He caught it again, the cocktail of scents she gave off, warning off predators. On that note, he focused the way his magic altered his body, completely eliminating his own scent through magic.

“A very nice dress. Are you expecting trouble?” he pointedly ran his thumb up her waist, feeling the outline of extra clothing well hidden beneath. He moved smoothly, drawing on the grace of his fae blood and his bestial nature, stepping impressively lightly for a larger man. “I feel a little outdressed. He'd cleaned up his look since meeting the elves, cutting his hair much shorter and using a small amount of oil to sweep it upward, parted on one side. His beard, once unkempt and shaggy, was now no longer than the width of a finger, lines kept clean. He looked softer than most elves, but his appearance was leaning more toward the fae than usual, with the canted eyes and pointed ears his cousins held.

His garb was simple, sticking to his traveling clothes. His tunic was tailored to fit and buttoned up the front, with sleeves rolled up to his elbows. His ivory shirt went well enough with his tough beige pants and a solid pair of boots, thoug they were well-worn enough to be easy to move in. He'd at least made the effort to keep his clothes clean and his boots polished. Perhaps most noticeable of all, his tattoos had vanished in the visible spectrum, showing only as a near-blinding bleeding of light in his skin.

He made a visible attempt not to meet her eyes, trying not to initiate a challenge or start a mesmer. “How did you and Volare meet? I think I've heard bits and pieces, but I don't think I've heard the full story from your own lips.” He bent his head forward a little, speaking softly into her ear.

Looking up, he saw they had drawn a couple of looks, including a few jealous ones from men. He peeled back his lips in a silent snarl out of sight, teeth showing as pointed. This flash of the beast was enough to make the men wipe the thoughts from their mind and pointedly mind their own business. With a turn, he noted the elven girl watching him dance. She met his eyes and flushed a little, caught watching. He gave her a wink instead of a snarl and she colored further, moving on.

Shirine bristled a little at his finger ran up her waist. Her hand on his sholder tightened a bit as her claws shifted in pressing a bit against him. "It is nice to dress up now and then, though I told you to watch yourself. Now behave." Since he hadn't repeated the movement her claws shifted back to normal nails. She had been very subtle about the shift too, so it was easy to miss for any outside observer. "As for trouble well I always expect that. Combination of having escaped a crazy mad drow imprision me, with intent on brainwashing me too and me being a mercenary all my life. Being prepared is just what you do after a life like mine."

She noted he wasn't looking at her eyes and wondered for a bit. Then she realized he might be aware of some her eye's traits. Clever man and a dangerous one too. That flash of his more bestial side kept her instincts sharp around him. She also noted him looking at the woman. He certainly was one of those men it seemed. Still he at least asked the right sort of questions.

"How I met Volare and interesting tale and by the way you don't have to look away from me. I won't mesmerize you or such. I am no animal that takes that as a challenge either. I know how to be polite member of society." She gave a short laugh finding his actions sort of amusing. "Still back to the story. It was a strange one really. Was over in Taras and some weird group decided to spread this fruit around. Chaos magic in that fruit or something and it turned people into hybrid animal creatures with almost no intelligence. Zombie like almost, but with bestial ferocity.

Never did figure out why whoever did it did it, but I ended up running into a building to escape a horde of people and met Volare and a Captain Buddy Holly. It was sort of awkward given I was in hybrid form and Buddy appeared to be a monkey lady. Turned out latter Buddy was actually a human guy. He had just been exposed to this fruit a lot and didn't lose his mind or something. Still we ended up running through the city together and hiding out in the Taras headquarters for my mercenary group. It was an old reinforced building, so relatively safe.

Regardless things got resolved people turned to normal after a time and Volare stayed with me and the mercenary group. She was sort of new to Imy at the time and needed a job. Didn't know she was going to become something special back then though."

Shirine smiled a bit at the memory. She was actually a surprisingly very good dancer. She didn't like thinking about it, but she had been taught dancing extensively while imprisoned by that drow. He had made sure his pets knew how to do fancy things. He enjoyed training them no matter what the thing was. Of course it did have some dark side stuff to those lessons too, but the muscle memory was still there making her very graceful even for an elf. She did not mind the looks she got. She had gotten used to them long ago now. Still a part of her wondered how many more stares she would get if she had Volare along with her. She decided she would have to bring Volare to the next festival.

“This is me behaving, dear Shirine. You should see me when I'm not. You might still, actually.” He winked over her shoulder. He straightened a bit as the claws nipped him, but it only drew a small grin. The dig marks healed over almost instantly. “Now now, that was almost certainly uncalled for. Hard to imagine anyone caging you, dear tigress.” He smirked, meeting her eye.

“Nobody said you were otherwise. Unfortunately, I don't have so easy a time fighting it. I didn't grow up in society. Grew up around books and my living garden. Not a lot of opportunity for making friends there. Eye contact is uncomfortable. You read so much more looking at a person's hands and movements.” He closed his for a brief moment, feeling the motion of the dance and moving on instinct, feeling everyone's movement and location through the ground underfoot.

“I think I heard about that fruit. Came across it among a merchant's wares. He was going to sell it to some fool for lunch. Took me quite a while to figure out how to turn it back around. Though, I didn't mind being a cat so much. If you ask nicely I might show you sometime.” He teased, opening his eyes to wink at her.

“Didn't know you were based out of Taras, though I suppose you had to come from somewhere. Shows how much I pay attention. I'm glad for the two of you, you know.” He turned serious for a moment, bringing himself to look her in the eye, sincerity evident. “She has a long road ahead of her. It's good she has someone strong she can trust to help her along. My little cousin will be well taken care of. Know if you ever need help, you can call out to me and I will come.”

The song was coming to an end and Hearne removed himself, bowing lightly to Shirine.

Shirine was not sure how to feel about the fact that this was Hearne behaving. He truely was that sort of guy and those could always give her headaches. Especially when they weren't entirely jerks about it. Though the fact that he seemed to have some issues in his own past, she could forgive a few problems.

Still she had to watch him. He had a certain dangerous charm that seemed to make one drop their guard a bit. Going back to the positive though it seemed he was on Volare's side and to some extent on her side as a result. She did have to agree that Volare had a long road ahead of her. Shirine did wish that Volare could get over her vengence, but it was a hard thing. Could Shirine stop if that drow showed up again... she didn't know. She thought she was over it, but that anger was still there always ready to burn in pure rage.

The song ended and Hearne bowed respectfully at the end. Shirine returned the gesture with her own shorter bow. It was shorter as a full bow just didn't work the same for someone in a dress like hers. "Well I will be sure to keep that in mind and thank you for helping my Volare too. She needs people who will help her.

Honestly talking like this is making me feeling better about working with you in the future. Moving our operation out here is a big move, but a good one I think. Something in me really finds comfort in this forest. Plus I must say the way you have been helping with the camp construction has been most impressive.

You know I shared a few facts about my self how about you share a few bits about yourself and your past. Then you can ask me another question."

She grinned a little seeing this sort of thing as a fun challenge to see if she could tease out a bit more info about Hearne. She had not spent time really getting to know him. She realized she had been a bit territorial... It was a troubling thing when she knew that her instinct still wanted to assert dominance in some way. It was tricky to do so in a social event though. Eh well let's see what Hearne would reveal about himself.

Hearne winked at her and caught her eye for a brief moment before returning to avoiding eye contact with anyone but the young woman catching his eye. He was a harmless flirt for the most part, though more often than not he would pursue something for at least a night of fun. He'd had his flings over the years, but none ever amounted to anything. They would catch on to his being a transient lover and move on, though some of those attracted to power had to be encouraged to move on. In Shirine and Volare he felt he had to step carefully in some things, but felt perfectly comfortable openly flirting with the two knowing it would lead to nothing. Even if one of the two were open to the idea, student-teacher relationships were not uncommon among druids and mages in his time, he would not allow it to happen. He respected them too much, and for the same reason he stayed away from the other members of the company.

“and thank you for helping my Volare too.”

Hearne couldn't help but grin a little wider at that, an unconscious assertion over the fae woman. He tilted his head to acknowledge it, even if she hadn't intended to say it like that. “I'm happy to help family in trouble. Even if she is only a cousin by way of being fae as well, she is kin. And by extension, so are you. We broken creatures must stay together. And building is no problem. I'm happy to maintain the walls and defenses for you. For the same reason as I keep the tavern open.” He actually colored a little at this.

“I enjoy the company. I spent centuries the next best thing to alone. Having all of you around, the laughter and action and even the arguments. It makes it a home. And I value that over all. Sorry I haven't been more active in the group, but I've been busy with my own problems. Including keeping my associates far away from the camp.” He thought about the celestial hunters and the abyssal hangers-on, the beasts trying to track down the son of Mochain for one reason or another.

He thought over her proposition for a moment, looking out as food began to be put out for the guests. Tables were cleared and villagers bustled to set the feast out. “I'll be happy to, so long as I get some of that pig while we talk.” He motioned to the table. Moving quickly, he secured a seat and another beside him, seizing fresh food before many had the chance to sit down.

Many recognized him as he moved by, greeting and chatting with a smile on their faces. It was surreal to him, a completely foreign experience. They were grateful, recognizing the work he'd put in making sure the village had rains when it needed them and encouraging the crops to grow bountiful and healthy. Their harvests had never been greater before his coming to the area.

Plate heaped with meat and several sweets brought to him by cheery villagers, Hearne began in on a pig's haunch. He chewed thoughtfully, waiting for the moment to speak. His silence was just starting to get uncomfortable before he spoke, looking straight ahead at the pig before him rather than looking at Shirine.

“I was with a woman fifteen years ago. Never married, but only because we didn't feel the need. We were certain in how we felt about each other.” He ate quietly for a moment before continuing. “She's gone now. Goblin raid on the village while I was too far to help. Destroyed much of the village. Most died, the rest got sick. She died bleeding on a pew in a little church while I was rushing back to a smoking pillar.” He set down his cleaned haunch, staring at the rest of his plate.

“Watching you and Volare together reminds me of her. Not in a bad way. Sure, it's painful, but they're fond memories. I was by myself for three hundred years before I was allowed back into Imythess. You'd think I'd have gotten used to it again by now.”

He picked out a honey cake, biting into it and grunting in appreciation, washing it down with a fresh ale dropped off by the elven woman who pointedly did not look at him when she came by. She shot a half-disappointed look over her shoulder as she walked away without so much as a pinch from the druid.

“How did you get into the business? Why did you choose to wander for a living? It had to be lonely for a while.”

Shirine nodded at the decision to sit down for a meal. "Ah how can nay preditor object to good food. Especially when it includes a fine pig like that one." It seemed that Hearne was a lonely person to some extent. He perhaps nedded some friends. Being lonely she understood. Before Volare she had been very alone even among her few close comrads. They were friends, but not ones she had let get close to her. She had also found some comfort in her new home and things wrre changing. With Volare she also felt likexshe was opening up just a little more.

She felt a little bad when hearing of Hearne's loss. It reminded her of the loss of her own family. She only had flashes of memory, but she remembered her family being ripped appart by vampires. As far as she knew onky her sister and herself had survived.

The question he asked her was a tough one though, "Well honestly I can not tell you. I have some amnesia and many memories are lost to me. I vaugely remember that I lived outside Imy as a child, but well my family was murdered ... by vampires I think. It is not clear really. Frsgments and nightmares. I am not sure how I ended up in these lands, but I know I was a mercenary in Norwood for years. No memories persay l, but I just know Iit was so. Such as I knew this forest even before mh first return to it on my current memories. At some point I was captured by the drow with my sister.... She took a large swig of an ale. She ate a bit of the pork before continiing to speak. The memories were the worst she had. Her famiky deaht was old and vauge... the drow had been real. His twisted joy in changing mind and body into willing magical slave. Waking up to find you had not been yourself was terrifying. The fire the escape the speration from her sister.

After escaping the drow I was a mess and ended up just falling back on whatver skills I had... well they were all mercenary skills, so there I was. I ended up in Taras and now here I am. As for lonely. Yeah I was lonely until recently. Volare has changed a lot. The new camp is also a new start for me in a way. Still me, but maybe a bit happier for now.

Though speaking if which you mentioned assotiates that needed to be kept away? What is that about?"

It was sort of weird when she realized how m much she had let out. She used to keep that stuff inside her. Perhaps she was gettinf over those memories more than she thought. Or was it the fact she felt like she understood Hearne a bit better and his talk of being kin ... even if it was losely ... really got to her. Familly was very important to her.... eh thinking about it didn't help. She decided to just see where this went. Plus there was good food in front of her.

Hearne swirled the mug in his hand as she told him this portion of her story. It was sad and almost familiar, thinking of his new friend Keelin, who had been subjected to horrible experiments and come out on top, hunting those who had done her wrong. He nodded.

“We do what we have to in order to survive. Some of us fall back on what's familiar and some of us strike out at those who wronged us. It doesn't always work out for the best. It isn't always what we need. Sometimes the best thing for a person is to put it all behind them and accept the life they're living now, moving forward with new friends and devoting themselves to their cause.” He drained the mug and searched for the elf to no avail.

He looked a little uncomfortable at the question, but was obviously going to answer anyway after some thought. For as much as he did to help the company, including the healing fruits growing in nearby trees, he told them little of himself.

“Those doors out of the tavern. I've showed the both of you the Gardens beyond it. All of them alive and well, ready to attack at any moment. It's full of Ivyn and other beasts.” He frowned as if thinking how to assemble the thoughts he was having. “I grew up in that plane, raised in it for three centuries before I was taught how to leave and come back.”

“The keep on the far side of the gardens, set into the wall by the standing stones and the tree. That's where celestials locked away a strong demon lord a milennia ago. His presence was scarring the mortal world and spreading madness by his being there. My mother freed him a little over four centuries ago and they bore me. The Celestials were not a fan of this, and have been looking for me, the son of Mochain, to stop me from whatever they think I'm up to. And demons either want to kill me to prove their strength or recruit me to their causes. Mochain's been shielding the grove from both sides, and he's taught me to spread that protection to the camp.” He seemed to have lost his appetite somewhat.

“I've been extremely sick until just lately. Dying by inches. But we figured out a way to fix it, for a while at least. One of the best things to happen to me was finding you and Volare on my doorstep. If you like, I would be happy to do what I can to help you remember. I'm not just a druid.”

Shirine listened and nodded. So he was part demon. It made sense that people might be after him especially if the father had been famous. It did soind like his father had not been the nicest of people though. Something to watch for, but it seemed like things had reached some balance. She and her family had been demons or part demon... her memory was not clear on that, so she could not just call a demon evil. Plenty of them were, but not all.

She then learned that the druid had been ill. This acrually explained a lot. It made sense that he had not left his garden too often until recently. When he offered to help with her memeories she quivered. She shook her head s little, "No thank you. I do not want anyone touching my mind again any time soon. The drow I was imprisioned by was sick even for his kind. He went into minds and rooted around to twist them to his own desires ... until they desired to do it to themselves... memories inserted and others supressed... all the lies unoticable until the spell broke. He also twisted their bodies into perverted forms with magic too until people were nothing but his pets. His loyal pets.... breaking out from such was confusing and unplesant. I may be starting to like you, but I doubt I will ever trust anyone to touch my mind again."

She took a drink and drained her mug before continuing, "So we seem to be spirialing down the bad memory paths... So on a happier question tell me how you got into brewing and how you go about it? her face showed that she was srill dealing with a few of her unplesant memories, but she was keeping a smiling facade up. Only those eith animal instincts or close friends woild really notcie. She had gotten used to hidding such feelings. It was also important to try and look happy again as this was a festival. They should celebrate not trade terrible pasts.

He could understand her hesitation to allow anyone near her mind ever again. It was hard enough for someone to entertain the thought without having had their minds tampered with. But for someone who'd gone thorugh what Shirine had... It was beyond anything he had heard experienced. Thinking back on it, he didn't even know how he might have suggested it.

“Of course, I'm sorry to bring it up. I didn't mean anything by it, just an offer to help if there's anything I can do. I don't have many friend, so if there's something I can do to help...” He left that open ended, leaving the offer for aid on the table.

The druid broke the moment by smiling, choosing to set the moment behind them instead of letting it linger on like a bad aftertaste. He found the serving girl and waved her over for another round of drinks for the both of them. As she walked off with empty mugs in hand, he grinned after her. “What do you think?” He asked, jutting his chin at the young woman. “It's an interesting thought, but I haven't had anyone to really talk to in a while. Having a friendship is well enough, like ours here, but having someone to bare your soul to like yourself and Volare's relationship... I haven't had that in some time.” He smiled idly before her question brought him back to the present moment.

“Brewing? It was sort of an accident, actually. Well, if I'm honest, it was a byproduct of my alchemical persuits. I learned to make remedial teas from Mochain, reading up on my mother's writings and diagrams on the subject. Teas were easy enough, but for some plants, an entirely different effect applies when yeast is introduced to the mix. Most of the time the result is undrinkable, but with some processing, I managed to make a very drinkable substance.” He eyed the new mug, smellig the mix of scents wafting from the mouth reverently.

“Most of it was not intended to come out as a beverage. Alcohol was simply the product of certain extracts I needed to keep my condition under control. But for regular people, humans and elves, to some extent, it creates an entirely different effect. Some of the brews I produce have extremely novel qualities. I have a gin that will literally scramble the senses, making your brain forget which way is up and right for a short time. Watered down, it sold extremely well. It funds a good deal of my research.” He chuckled and downed the ale, savoring the tastes.

“What sort of hobbies do you take up? I've seen you practicing and giving orders, but I rarely see you outside a professional setting. What is it you do to pass the time?”

She listened to Hearne appologize and said, "No it is fine. You did not know. I do not talk about it very often unless it is brought up." He then waved a serving girl over. His question about the girl made her simply shrug. The server was attractive, but lacked a dangerous quality that Shirine had come to love in Volare. In truth since Volare many girls just weren't catching her eye like they used to... not that the girl wasn't pretty. Shirine could alao appreciate such things if she thought about it, but she just didn't get in those moods as often these days.

Shirine had to think for a bit when asked about her own hobbies. She spent so much time working she rarely relaxed completely... well until she had taken some excursions out with Volare... buf that was a different sort of thing. "Hmm... not something I think about too often. I suppose I enjoy hunting... but not really a hobby. I enjoy swiming and walks .... especially if i am with Volare... hmm not sure that is quite a hobby either.. Ah I know. I did do a bit of wood carving now and thenm . Not terribly good at it, but it is relaxing and you only get betrer with time I hear.

Besides that I also have guilty pleasure of experimenting with bath salts and herbs. I do enjoy a relaxing bath after a hard day. My nose is always more sensitive then most humanoids so finding a good mixture that isn't too overpoweoring is tricky at times. I once found a mixture that was terribly effective in the bath, but ended up smelling like elder berries, roses and rotten mushrooms for a week. Still when I find a new combination it is nice.
She ended up giggling a little at rhe terrible memory. It was funny how you could laugh at some bad memories.

So any plans now that you have your health problems more under control?"

Hearne watched the young elf server for a short while longer before something seemed to cross his mind. He frowned visibly for a moment before the expression was wiped away without a trace. All interest in the woman seemed to vanish and his smile took on a forlorn look while he listened to Shirine.

“Wood carving is always a good hobby. I've known a few who were extremely talented artists. Watched a couple of them progress from whittling spoons to crafting polished statues so lifelike you feel like you could feel the breath on your palm.” He gave a shrug himself. “Everyone has to start from the bottom.”

He scratched at a spot on his chin when she mentioned the scented baths. He knew the struggles of dealing with altered scents when your sense of smell was hightened so far above a normal person's. He had to ignore much of what he smelled when he entered populated areas to avoid being hit by the odors and perfumes like a club over the head.

“I have something at the grove you could try. It's something I found experimenting with watered down liquids. A desiccated mixture of dried lily and a sleeping concoction. A good dose will knock out a large man for several hours and bring him back relaxed, fully replenished, and his health will be markedly improved. I intended to use it to help those in too much pain to sleep and heal without mixing too many potions, but two doses in a bathtub's worth of water would do wonders for relaxation. And it actually smells quite wonderful. A lot of the oils have been removed, so the smell is light. Many might not pick it up.” He offered.

Inspecting his right hand, picking up the faint play of magic seeping through invisible cracks in his skin in the magical spectrum, he thought the question over. “I do have quite a few plans, actually. There's a lot of work ahead of me. Research to perform. But that's following that darker path of conversation again, and this is a happy time. How about you? Any big plans for the immediate future?” He watched several couples dance along to a new tune, a jaunty piece played on panpipes.

Shirinehad no trouble with this one. She had decided her current path, "Most of the jear future Iis just making sure the company gets up and running properly. It holds my few friends and the one I want to protect most. I suppose I want to make it a real home. Maybe put a little of my past behind me and enjoy life. Hopefully I can do the same for Volare.

Of course I will still be getting exercise and adventure from mercenary missions. Traveling is rewarding in many ways and doing a good job on a missions is good too. I do not plan on doing any major jobs though. Stay out of polotics, no wars or such and take the small jobs that more often help people.

Shirine watched the people dancing while eating some more. She then though of something. They had been talking, drinkong and eating for a bit. Her plate was nearing empty. A full feeling, but a bit of resltessness too. She either wanted to get moving or find a good place to curl up for a nap. Feline instincts were odd at times. It was now she rmemebered seeing some game stands elbeing set up earlier in the day. Several would probably have some simple games like ring toss or similar small things. She grinned a bit at the thought of a competition. "You know I think I saw a few fames earlier. Care to compete at a few of them, after finshing up here."
